Hi everyone,

The builds are in, and your build/disband statistics are given below. England NDR'ed his disband, so I have disbanded Yorkshire as this is the one of England's two units which is not occupying a home SC (the nearest to home SC disband house rule applies).

The deadline for the Spring 1904 moves is Sunday 19 June 2000GMT.

England:
NDR - Remove A Yorkshire (per DC house rules - NMR 1.1)

France:
Build A Paris

Germany:
Build A Berlin

Italy:
Build A Rome

Take care,

Jerome

Hi everybody,

1. dc384 ready to restart

I'm extremely pleased to be able to tell you guys that we now have a full roster of players again for our game! Thanks to Matthias and Archer agreeing to take over Russia and Turkey respectively, we're now in a position to restart our game.

So as to allow the seven of you to get to know one another and allow the two new players plenty of time to form some strategies and alliances, I'm going to cancel the main move deadline for Autumn 1903 (which was Sunday 5 June 2000GMT), and push this back to Sunday 12 June 2000GMT. We'll restart our regular weekly pattern from there.

dc384 Two new Powers saught - jerome777   (May 30, 2011, 7:49 am)
Hi everyone,

Unfortunately Sean (Russia) has had to drop out of our game, due to some pretty serious personal issues that are going to need to occupy his spare time. Therefore we're now in a position of needing two replacement players to fill up our board.

I've posted messages in the Light Brigade section of the dc website, and we'll see what kind of response those messages get. In the meantime, I'll keep you all posted as best I can with news on our game.

Best,

Jerome

"Tsar fails to issue orders to Russian units!"

"Italians fail to find missing cat in Bulgaria despite extensive search - Rumania now thought to be most likely hiding place!"

Hi everyone,

Apologies for the late adjudication of the game this season. I had a minor emergency to deal with last night, so thanks for your patience.

Unfortunately we've two NMRs this season, despite several reminders sent to the players concerned asking them to submit their moves. So, we need to wave 'goodbye' to one player - thanks for playing Vinnie - and I'll search for a replacement to take over Vinnie's role.

In the meantime, we've one retreat needed from England, so Luke - please let me know what you'd like to do with your NTH fleet as soon as possible. The deadline for this retreat ought to be 2000GMT tonight, but given my lateness in adjudicating this move I'll stretch this to 0800GMT tomorrow (Tuesday 31 May). Having said this, if you can let me know your retreat sooner, I'll adjudicate as soon as possible.

I'm going to begin the search for a new Turkey now. Once a new Turkey is appointed, I'll give an extended deadline to you all to allow Diplomacy with the new player, and give him/her a chance to get to know you all. If I can appoint a new Turkey before Sunday 5 June, the deadline for Autumn 03 moves will be Sunday 13 June 2000GMT.

Hi everyone,

The deadline is just over 22 hours away for dc384. The deadline for your Spring 1903 moves is 2000GMT Sunday 29 May.

I'm sure we are all hoping for no NMRs (no moves received) this turn, though you should all be aware that two consecutive NMRs will result in a replacement player being sought for your Power.

Vamos Barca!

Wartime dried fruit shortages cause Austrians to secure fig and date supplies from Tunisia!

Movement in Galicia - unconfirmed rumours abound that Russian army was allowed to enter without resistance after Archduke accepts Tsar's offer of 'a go on his new bike'!

Now then everyone,

Thanks again for your patience with my absence from the game, and the long wait since the last turn. Following this move, we now settle into a nice, regular pattern of timings. The retreats deadline following each major season will be 2000hrs GMT Monday, and the winter deadline for builds and disbands will be 2000hrs GMT Tuesday following Autumn moves.

Therefore, the deadline for retreats for Winter 02 will be 2000hrs GMT Monday 23 May. If you do not submit retreats by then, the auto-retreats given below will stand. An interesting turn, with plenty of movement on the board. Please find your adjudication and retreats below.

Retreats required and auto-retreats:

Grant - if you can confirm asap whether you'd like to retreat to Skaggerak or OTB that would be great. Once this is done, then I'll be able to confirm the build/disband status for everyone.

Just to remind you all, we have a short deadline for the Spring 02 moves - Friday 6 May 2000GMT, with any retreats for Summer 02 being due for Saturday 7 May 2000GMT, so that we can get the move in before my absence for holidays. dc384 Spring 1901 adjudication; map and .dpy files... - jerome777   (Apr 24, 2011, 3:01 pm)
War breaks out across Europe!
Austrian and Russian armies meet in Galicia - raspberries blown at 10 paces before both sides withdraw!
Spain and Denmark fall to stronger neighbouring Powers!
Italian troops entering Trieste claim they are 'searching for lost cat'; locals not convinced!
Shells exchanged between Russian and Turkish fleets off Crimean coast - both sides withdraw to 'perform further testing'!
Hi everyone,
Here is the adjudication for the Spring 1901 moves. Unfortunately I've been delayed getting back home from visiting relatives for the holidays and am away from my pc. Therefore the map, .dpy file and web page update will need to wait till tomorrow afternoon. However, I have completed the adjudication using a good old pen and paper, and my Smartphone. So here it is:
Austria:
A Budapest - Serbia
F Trieste - Albania
A Vienna - Galicia (bounce)
England:
F Edinburgh - Norwegian Sea
F London - North Sea
A Liverpool - Edinburgh
France:
F Brest - Mid Atlantic Ocean
A Marseilles - Spain
A Paris - Picardy
Germany:
A Berlin - Kiel
F Kiel - Denmark
A Munich - Ruhr
Italy:
F Naples - Ionian Sea
A Rome - Apulia
A Venice - Trieste
Russia:
A Moscow - Ukraine
F Sevastopol - Black Sea (bounce)
F St Petersburg - Gulf of Bothnia
A Warsaw - Galicia (bounce)
Turkey:
F Ankara - Black Sea (bounce)
A Constantinople - Bulgaria
A Smyrna - Constantinople

Just so everyone knows, I'm out of town with intermittent Internet
access for the next 48 hours or so. I'm not ignoring you, just likely
slow to reply.
Best,
