Hi gang,

Well, I gave Alfred a couple of extra hours, but no orders yet from Italy.  I can't wait any longer, so we're moving on without him.  Get back to me Alfred, let me know if all is well with you.

Well first order of business, both draw proposals fail. Of course we had an nmr, which you can usually count on to be a vote of no. Regardless, war continues across Europe.

No less than four dislodged units this spring. RETREATS for all of them are due on Thursday, January 30, 18:00.  Most of them only have one option other than to disband, but I'd still like to see an order if you don't mind.

Russian F Denmark can retreat to Helgoland Bight or Baltic Sea or OTB.
German A Munich can retreat to Bohemia or OTB.
Russian A Sweden can retreat to Finland or OTB.
Italian A Vienna can retreat to Galicia or OTB.

Maps are attached, turn is below, check the orders.

be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it
were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the
old.

Yesterday morning the British Ambassador in St Petersburg handed the Russian Government a
final Note stating that, unless we heard from them by 11 o'clock that they were
prepared at once to withdraw their troops from the border with Norway, a state of war would
exist between us.I have to tell you now that no such undertaking has been received, and that
consequently this country is at war with Russia. You can imagine what a bitter blow it is to me that all my long struggle to win
peace has failed. Yet I cannot believe that there is anything more or anything
different that I could have done and that would have been more successful.

I think i'm going to have to ask for an extension on this season's deadline, if that's okay with everyone. I've rather suddenly had to find a new place to live, which is a very involved process here in NYC, so I haven't been able to provide anyone with the thoughtful correspondence that they deserve.

I should have it all figured out this weekend - would it be okay to push this spring back to Monday or Tuesday?

Thanks,
Archer

Thanks all - despite my rather poor playing, controversies and
screw-ups, I did enjoy it.  Hope you all did too.  Good luck to all.

I'll see one (or more) of you up on the winners table at the end.

Gentlemen

I am in support of a 5-way draw proposal and think it would be an honourable outcome for us. There is no prospect of anyone engineering a solo out of this position as there are too many wily players involved and a real readiness to work
together to hit the common enemy if anyone starts to pull away. We have already done this a couple of times with Italian early promise promptly squashed and then Turkish delight boxed into the corner.

Turkey cannot win and France and I (although we have just had a little incident) will not permit it. I cannot win as Archer is very effectively blocking my development and even a successful foray into France won't help me. Jake cannot win
as I think Lucas and Archer would accept that we would have to work together to prevent it and Jake should be able to see that he can only take so much from Italy  before it gives Turkey the upper hand.

What do folks think?

By the way Jake- it was very clear from your silence this season that you were going to attack Italy and break our agreements. My action in Belgium and MAO was to give you pause for thought before pushing along that line too far.

First order of business, we haves some draw proposals to be voted on next spring. The two draws proposed are as follows:

A five way draw, E-R-T-I-F

A three way draw, T-F-E

So it needs to be unanimous among all surviving players. If you fail to vote it is considered a NO.  You cannot abstain.  Please provide a vote for each draw proposed with your SPRING 1906 orders.

On to the turn.  We need one retreat from England:

English F Denmark can retreat toHelgoland Bight or Skagerrak or OTB.

Since it is quite late I will put a deadline for that on Wednesday, January 15, 18:00 MST. I can probably do it earlier if I get an order.

Some alliances broken this turn maybe?

DC 463, New deadline - alwayshunted   (Dec 18, 2013, 10:13 am)
Hi gang,

I've had a few requests for new deadlines and a delay, so I'm going to try to get this spring turn our by the 30th of December. Please get orders in to me by then.  After the spring turn (maybe summer as well) we will take a break for a while, probably fall will be due around the 10th of January but we'll play it by ear.

Cheers, and Happy Holidays everyone.

Oh rats, that's kind of a bad day for a deadline. I understand Christmas eve is kind of important for some folks  heh heh.....  Smile

Is anyone against a deadline around the 27th or 28th? Are people on vacation?  I'll be a bit soft on this and make it for the 27th. If I don't get orders from everyone I'll send e-mails and see what's up.

DC 463, Fall 1904 - alwayshunted   (Dec 10, 2013, 11:42 pm)
Hi guys,

Some interesting developments. Germany stands down, perhaps seeing the writing on the wall. Lots of things going on in the Balkans... and in the southern seas, and Russia is growing. I, for one, am enjoying this game.

There was one retreat for Austria, but I went ahead with it because it had one option. Jason I moved your army to Galicia.  You can change that order to "off the board" if you wish, but you can also do that in winter so I assume this is okay.

Let's make winter due on Thursday, December 12, 18:00 MST.  I have pasted the adjustments necessary at the bottom of the adjudication...... no less than FOUR countries build this year, with Turkey being the big winner.

Maps are attached.

Cheers,

Warren

Okay, sorry guys.  Sometimes other things just happen  Smile

Here is spring of 1904.  Once again some interesting developments.
Italy had one retreat from Vienna, but there was one option so I ran it. Alfred if you want it to go OTB instead please let me know! It's now sitting in Bohemia.

Assuming that Alfred wants to keep his army, we are now on to Fall 1904. Due next Monday, December 9, 18:00 MST.

Maps are attached.  Get those prelims in!
