DC201 - Autumn 953 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Autumn 953:
- France F Burgos retreats to Bay of Biscay;
- Norge F Sea of England retreats to Lindisfarne
- Independent A Jorsal and A London are disbanded.
Meanwhile the fires over Athinai have been extinguished leaving a sadness looking at the blackened buildings and smoldering barren valleys and hills where once were forests.

At the start of Winter 953 we see that several powers have been able to expand their territory.
Not all powers as much as it may seem due to disbands earlier in the year.
And France: yeah, what to say? In 953 they have fought hard against the attacks from Burgundy, Arab Caliphates and Danes but the war has taken its toll. With the loss of 2 supply centers, their units have troubles finding new resources.

Below the Ownership I have listed the adjustments for Winter 953.
Deadline for W953 is set for Saturday Sep 13 at 23:00 GMT.

Attached are the updated W953 map as well as updated RP files: DPY, BMP and MAP.
Enjoy
Frank

DC176 - Winter 1910 adjustments - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Winter 1910 saw the following builds in Austria: F Trieste and A Budapest.
At the same time England found that it could no longer support its A Yorkshire.

And thus we have arrived at Spring 1911.
Spring, typically the time of opportunities and growth.
We wonder what this year will bring:
Will England for example see this year's Winter?
Or has France set out to destroy the Ol' Brits?
Will Italy be able to withstand the pressure from Austria around the Black Sea?
Will Russia maintain its grip on its long supply lines with an Austrian army advancing north?

Deadline for Spring 1911 is Monday Sep 15 at 23:00 GMT.

Brian was ranked 21st at the time of calculation. Brian was one of the original 6 who were invited to play in the game. Brian will not progress to the second round of the DCI unless a player is unable to continue. Brian finishes on 1.5 points. Thanks for playing Brian.

The Irish were played by DCI heavy weight, Mike Sims. As many of you had guessed that Mike was a player in the DCI, Mike is ranked as the top player in DC. Mike was invited to play as he was the reigning champion - the winner of the 2008 DCI. Mike will be progressing to the second round of the DCI and has scored 1.5 points. Thanks for playing in this game, Mike.

PRESS

Britons speak,
To Welsh,

I might have made a misstake in taking Con with the army. I will support you into Lou though, and bring more units over to crack Gal. Will take another year or so.

To Norse,

I have yet to vote down a draw.

To Danes/Angles,

I will remain neutral unless my possessions are threatened.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comSurprisedfficeSurprisedffice" />
Danes to Norse:
thanks for support in Fir, pity I messed it up. I will try to return there, and certainly to stop any expansion of Angles to the continent.

Hopefully we will agree on a draw soon.

Angles, congratulations on taking FIR despite the joint Scandinavian resistance. As before, let's bounce in WIL and keep supporting AYR-ARG. I'm happy to leave the Norse in PER, but if they're a problem for you, feel free to take care of them first. Let me know if there's anything else I can do. And it may turn out that it's easier for me to get yo into ARG than it is for me to take it. If that proves to be the case, it's yours.

Britons, if the Angles agree to the bounce in WIL, I feel comfortable wiht you in WIG. F DEV will dock at COR, F DAM at BRI - my hope is they never move again, without your request. Taking GAL and DON sound good, with the aim of helping me take ARM in the fall, if I haven't taken it already. I look forward to trading supports for as long as the game continues.

Danes and Norse: do you really think the Britons need to stop sitting back and pick a side, while they move into first place?

-<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comSurprisedffice:smarttags" />Wales

Britons and Welsh allied is not good for any of us folk. This has the making of a two way unless we act now.

DC191 Study In Baltic - Spring 1906 - The Cardboar... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Watson and Holmes found the house deserted when the Hansom Cab arrived, to Watson's great distress. As the Doctor searched high and low for someone to assist them, Holmes studied the cardboard box found on the doorstep. Contained within - two human ears. One was marked 'Riga - Finland', the other 'Minsk - Poland'. The address on the box appeared written in Cyrillic...

--------------------------

Spring 1906 is definitely the season that Russia strikes back. Disbanding the occupying units in both RIga and Minsk, the Russian forces victoriously return to their home centers. Meanwhile, a great race is witnessed along the eastern coast of Sweden.

No retreats are required after the turn so we track our way into Fall 1906. Deadline for orders will be set for Wednesday, September 17th (11:59 PM GMT). Please let me know if you spot any errors with the adjudication.

Cheers!

Spring 1901 Results - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Revolution is not a dinner party, nor an essay, nor a painting, nor a piece of embroidery; it cannot be advanced softly, gradually, carefully, considerately, respectfully, politely, plainly, and modestly. A revolution is an insurrection, an act of violence by which one class overthrows another

And there was war, glorious war...

The Brits seek early domination of the Northern Seas while the Italians look to the west...several bounces, but no retreats needed so we move directly to the Fall. Orders will be due in six days on Wednesday, 17 September at 11:59 PM, GMT. Too slow? Get 'em in early and we can move this one along as quickly as you'd like to!

Good luck and best regards!

Dc189 Winter 857 forgotten press - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
apologies to the plater(s) involved.. I missed this

PRESS
All: I am up for any draw that includes the 6 finalists and have been voting accordingly.

Wales & Britons: If the game continues I think the way to go is to form a WBA vs. DNS. The three largest vs. the three smallest. This would expedite the ending and we have worked well together thus far. The Danes would crumble fairly quickly with pressure from the south and the Scots are going to be receding every year until the game is over. Shall we? We should quickly get to the point where the DNS would be willing to accept survival over elimination. To really expedite things we could suggest a WBAN vs. DS. But I would rather the former. The three of us should be able to balance so that no one of us is threatening a solo for fear of the other two.

Wales: Will keep on supporting Ayr-Arg. If it looks like you are going to gain a SC (Arm or Arg) may I take Che? I could use another fleet. Bouncing in Wil works fine, let's do it.

DC-198 Summer Mayhem Fall 1908 Adjudication - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
All,
Everybody got orders in, though I had a bit of confusion with one set.
For the record, the rulebook states that coastal designations are required in orders when moving in or out of, or supporting a move in or out of, a province with more than one coast. I am usually pretty relaxed about this, but I tend to get a bit uptight when one warning is followed the same day by orders with designations missing.
Also, when submitting a second or subsequent set of orders, I will take that as *the* set of orders for your country. What I mean is this: If you submit version A as a full set, but later submit version B as an incomplete set, I will take B and assume you wanted to hold all the unordered units. I'm sorry guys, but I don't do partial order sets.
Anyway, here it is.

DC172 Midsummer Nights Stab - Winter 1607 - Measur... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt ...

Heya folks,

Unfortunately, our friend in Spain fails to come to the table with a disband this winter. Chaos disband rules were followed and the Army in Milan got the axe. Meanwhile, another northern army springs up in Vestlandet for the Danes.

Those are the Winter adjustments - we set the stage for Spring 1608 with orders due Thursday, September 18th (11:59 PM GMT).

Cheers!
