dc157 Adjudication for Fall 1907 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Well this was the turn for NMRs....

Germany and Russia were not really any surprise, but Italy also must have been busy. I am sorry but my schedule will just not allow me to wait it out this time. [u:4bf0c3e9a7]As it stands now we will have Winter 1907 builds due by 2300GMT or 6pm EST on Wednesday 6th of August, 2008[/u:4bf0c3e9a7]

The most humorous situation I think I have ever seen happened in Munich and Germany as a whole. Germany should be gone, but alas Austria and France have not been talking (or so it seems) six units stood off over Munich to no success. Germany didn't even order a defensive support, I assume figuring he was doomed, as he should have been.

Russia on the other hand is done with Austria delivering the final death blows.

I need builds from the following no later than Wednesday.

Austria -- 2 builds
England -- 1 build
France -- 2 builds
Italy -- 1 build

One last thing..... The vote for the 4 player draw failed due to no voters, but some clever player offered to propose the same vote again. So again please cast your votes for or against the 4 player draw to include Austria, England, France, and Italy. With only 5 legal votes, and 4 players to be included, it might seem like an easy task, but remember it still only takes one no vote to kill the proposed End Game.

The moves/results...

F Constantinople - Bulgaria(sc)

dc163 Spring 1907 Adjudication - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Well folks, the time has come and past......

With appologies, I will proceed as my schedule will not currently allow me to personally send out invitations this week.

France we knew was not going to send moves, but both Russia and Turkey failed to send orders even after the point was stressed.

I checked with Steve and he didn't receive any orders either.

The end result....Turkey has two NMRs, but because one was from a winter cycle I will give him the chance to pick up his forces in the Fall, but a NMR then will put him into CD.

[u:97807c83df]Fall 1907 due by 4pm EST (2100 GMT) on 10th August 2008 Sunday again.[/u:97807c83df]

DC176 - Autumn 1907 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
England has ordered its fleet to retreat from Belgium to the North Sea and its army from Liverpool to Wales.
And this brings Winter 1907.

Seven years already into the wars paralyzing the economy in Europe (aside from some related industries) and only the ruler of Turkey was ousted.
Germany is still surviving at its favorite Winter retreat in Marseille at the Mediterranean. The other Powers gain and loose some but seem to keep eachother in balance.
What a beautiful display (if you just forget for a moment about those 1000s of victims).

Following builds/disbands are due:
Austria: Supp 8 Unit 7 Build 1
England: Supp 5 Unit 7 Remove 2
France: Supp 7 Unit 5 Build 2
Italy: Supp 5 Unit 6 Remove 1
Russia: Supp 8 Unit 7 Build 1

Deadline is Wednesday Aug 6, at 23:00 GMT.

DC138 Winter Of Our Discontent - Winter 2012 - Fee... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Thirded and fourthed. Any chance we can take a binding, public vote to determine if we can take another binding, public vote on end of game proposals? That way we'd all be voting for a temporary change in the rules, not forced into it (assuming someone out there must be at this point.)

Or is someone just perpetually forgetting to vote on the EGPs?

If someone is angling for revenge or stirring the pot - consider this. I, the most likely candidate to be sneakily juggernauting for a solo, am HELPING my rivals move north. I informed them about a one army build so I've a reserve/hole filler. Its doubtful that I'd do that if I was angling for a solo. On their part - Lee and Bruce are not moving towards one another, and they waived all their builds this year. If they were looking for a fight, they'd have gone for the whole hog and I'd be sweating.

So bottom line - the game is a three way draw. Even if we play it out for the next two-three turns until (theoretically) all the smaller powers are gone and the three of us are all thats left the end result will be the same. Lets just declare victory and leave Mesopotamia...err pick a new map to beat one another up onSmile

I demand to know the name of the person(s) whom are prolonging this exercise and a pretty damn good justification for it. We have been voting every turn for the past 3 game years and for some reason that I think we all deserve to know what the point is. Obviously one of the largers feel they can solo or one of the smallers is being vendictive to repay one of the largers...

I could care less but I think we deserve to know what this person(s) feels would be an adequate outcome to this game.

More wisdom from the book of Suess:

Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.

Both draw proposals meet defeat and we proceed with the Winter adjustments. However, there's a lot of waiving going on - the only build being an army in Calgary. Meanwhile, California disbands all eight mainland armies - leaving only the southern fleets... All said and done - rather an odd Winter turn.

We move on with the Spring of 2013. Order deadline will be set for Friday, August 8th (11:59 PM GMT). Cheers folks!

DC138 Winter Of Our Discontent - Winter 2012 - Fee... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Gents,

This discussion is moot and will be ceased as of this email.

You all know my house rules, folks. Draw votes are held confidential to the GM. Period. If a person is voting against a proposed draw, it is entirely THEIR choice.

NO player should be shamed or be made to feel guilty if they wish the game to continue. I'm surprised this is coming from some of you.

Agreed...

Especially on the pick a new map and beat each other... I would be up for shake the positions and run on this one again.

Subject: Re: DC138 Winter Of Our Discontent - Winter 2012 - Feed My Frankenstein

DC177 Fall 1906 Results - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
No moves from Germany, so, since he used his grace in the spring, he
NMRs. Alf, please send me some prelims for the next deadline ASAP so I
know you still plan on continuing...if something is wrong and you can't
let me know so that I can find a replacement.

In other news, Germany's NMR doesn't hurt him because of some Russian
help, Italy loses two more centers, and French fleets in the Ionian Sea
area seem to have miscommunicated...though the light blue still nabs Naples.

No retreats, so we move directly to Winter 1906, which will be due this
Wednesday, August 7, at 9 pm eastern. Adjustments due are listed below
the adjudication.

Guns, Germs and Steel 1264 / DC110 - Fall 1875 - F... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
- A COLD HARD RAIN FALLS ON AUSTRIAN AMBITIONS
- THE DUTCH HAVE GEORGIA ON THEIR MINDS
- NORTHERN SIBERIAN TROOPS CONTINUE TO GIVE THE COLD SHOULDER TO CONVOYING AMERICANS
- BRAZIL IS ELIMINATED! (BRAZILIANS ASK - WHAT? WERE WE STILL FIGHTING?)

Yes folks, France takes the last lone Brazilian center in Paraguay and at long last the fighting South Americans are eliminated from the game. Meanwhile, the Austrians look to emulate the long one-center survival standard as their SC count is decimated...

Surprisingly, no retreats occur from the Fall moves and we flow directly into the Winter adjustments. Deadline for Winter 1875 will be set for Wednesday, August 6th (11:59 PM GMT).

PLEASE double-check these results... I seem to have fallen into a couple of extra glasses of wine tonight... The screen is slightly tinged, if you know what I mean...

Cheers everyone!

DC172 Midsummer Night's Stab - Winter 1605 - Hamle... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. ...

(Sorry Matt - I couldn't resist using that quote...) =P

There is no question over whether to be or not to be for our remaining English and Swedish units - they take the blade and fade from the board. The winter adjustments have a dramatic effect on the board, and we move into the Spring 1606 season with quite a few changes to prepare for.

Deadline for the Spring 1606 turn will be set for Sunday, August 10th (11:59 PM GMT). Cheers folks!

Dc189 Misled - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dear Dc189 Players

Your GM has deliberately misled you Smile When I set the Autumn retreat deadline, I was aware that our Frisian player would be absent until Wednesday or possibly Thursday. I hoped that he/she could get moves in by some fluke but obviously I am going to wait until i get the retreat.

This will push our winter deadline back. I have a lot of the winter moves in anyway (and not many marked prelim with is great so hopefully there should be little turnaround)

However, PICT player - I still dont have your RETREAT so you have until I get the frisian retreat to get it in.

Hey all you Imperial players - the vacation is over.

The deadline for, for, uh, wait a minute, I have to look...

Spring 1842! that's it...

Ok, the deadline for Spring 1842 is TOMORROW at 2359 UTC, Zulu, GMT, a minute till midnight in the UK, that's like 7:02 pm for me.

So, when the clock strikes I should have 9 sets or Spring 1842 orders in my grubby little paws.

Extra credit: a 300 word essay on "What I did during my summer vacation." Wink

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

Dc199 - annoyed GM - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dear Players.

It seems that our Turkish player has failed to submit moves for fall 1901.

As per my house rules for 1901 - I will seek a replacement should I not receive moves from Turkey in the next 24 hours.

dc157 Winter 1907 adjudication - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Thank you, thank you, thank you.....

All results are in!

****sorry but my system is not letting me attach files to my email.*******

Austria:
Build A Trieste
Build A Vienna

England:
Build A Edinburgh

France:
Build F Brest
Build A Paris

Italy:
Build F Rome

Russia:
Remove A Prussia
Remove A Livonia

I made a slight mistake in that I didn't ask for everyone to turn in votes for the Winter season (ie Germany) and so it is not fair to cancel the vote due to his not needing to turn in orders.

I will however put that proposal and two others on the table for the Spring due date.

The three proposals are:

1. Four way draw to include Austria, England, France and Italy.
2. Solo victory by Austria.
3. Three way draw to include Austria, France and Italy.

The proposals are in the order I received them and the countries are simply in alphabetical order.

[u:28beff670d]Spring 1908 moves will be due on Tuesday 12th August by 2300GMT / 6pm EST.[/u:28beff670d]

Dear Dc199 players

I have now not heard from Turkey in the 24 hour grace period. Therefore I am officially seeking a replacement for this position. Unfortunately the game is currently on hold but i hope it will not be too long before we get a new player.

Turkey has now been placed on my blacklist.

dc186 Spring '74 Results - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
GM Notes:

I can not find orders from Holland or Japan.

We will be taking a couple weeks extension due to overlapping requests.

We have end game proposal of a China Russia Draw. Votes are due with the next adjudication.

Approval requires a unanimous yes vote by all surviving players. The vote will be cast by secret ballot. Results will be announced upon receipt of first "no" vote, a unanimous "yes" vote or upon expiration of deadline. The player who makes the proposition does not have to vote yes. Not voting before the deadline will be considered abstaining and will not affect the outcome of the vote.
