DC138 - Slight Delay... - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Heya folks,
I have heard from all players for the Fall 08 turn - unfortunately one player just sent me word that his prelims stood as submitted. Problem being that I do not have any prelims from the player on file... With the risk that the missing prelims is due to GM stupidity, I'm delaying the turn adjudication a few hours and requesting clarification - hope that's cool with you all.
Cheers everyone. Thanks for your understanding..

I am happy for you guys to spend as much time as you need Diploming, but any opportunity to get this game moving should surely be a good thing no?
Kind regards

Well folks, I hate to do this, but England, India, and Turkey have given up and while India and Turkey aren't critical to the game's continuation, England is in a decent position and should be played. To that end, I'm seeking a replacement.
The game is on hold until a replacement is found, which I don't expect will take very long.
Thank you for your patience.

DC172 - A Tsars Resignation - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Hi everyone,
I apologize but owing to a disagreement with the GM concerning what is permissible and what is not permissible during a game of diplomacy, our current Russian Tsar Simeon has resigned his commission. While unfortunately it shows up on the website as an abandonment, I'd like to stress that Simeon went out of his way to turn in Fall orders and began to seek out a replacement for his position. If he HAD to go, he did what he could to keep the game moving.
That being said, seeing the writing on the walls I have enlisted a savage Swedish-meatball-eating recruit to the Russian cause already. Please welcome Steve Caponigri the Terrible to the game. Steve has enthusiastically volunteered to come to the party and kick some Swedish behind... =P
Steve's email is <scaponig(at)yahoo.com (scaponig(at)yahoo.com)>. As he already has orders in, the deadline will remain tomorrow (Wednesday, May 7th). However, stay tuned please as I have offered to provide an extension if he so requests.
Cheers everyone.

DC176 - Fall 1902 Adjudication - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
UNBELIEVABLE !!
probably describes best what has happened during Fall 1902.
Hope that Russia enjoys its presence in Denmark as it came with a price: the Russians succeeded taking Denmark from the Germans through the support of the English, who in return for that favor must have decided to take Sweden and St Petersburg (nc). Germany as a result of Russia's move has been told to leave immediately - no need to pack.
Further south Russia had to make way for the Germans in Bohemia; since word had come down from what occurred in Denmark, Germany showed no mercy on the Russians either: demand for immediate departure.
And all the way in the Mediterranean we see Italian troops moving from Tunis to Smyrna in an orchestrated convoy which succeeded thanks to the support from Austria. The Turkish delight (forgive me for this little joke) over the victory in Serbia is said to have quickly changed to unbelief at what happened at home.
These are the orders given for Fall 1902:
Austria:
A Budapest Supports A Vienna
F Greece Supports F Aegean Sea
A Trieste - Serbia (*Fails*)
A Vienna Supports A Munich - Bohemia
England:
A London Hold
F North Sea Supports F Sweden - Denmark
F Norway - St Petersburg(nc)
F Skagerrak - Sweden
France:
F Brest - English Channel
A Gascony - Burgundy
F Marseilles - Spain(sc)
A Paris - Picardy
F Portugal - Mid-Atlantic Ocean
Germany:
A Belgium Hold
F Denmark Supports F Sweden (*Dislodged*)
A Munich - Bohemia
A Prussia - Warsaw (*Fails*)
A Silesia Supports A Prussia - Warsaw (*Cut*)
Italy:
F Aegean Sea Convoys A Tunis - Smyrna
F Ionian Sea Convoys A Tunis - Smyrna
A Tunis - Smyrna
A Venice - Apulia
Russia:
A Bohemia - Silesia (*Dislodged*)
A Galicia Supports A Moscow - Warsaw
A Moscow - Warsaw
A Rumania Supports A Bulgaria - Serbia
F Sevastopol Supports A Rumania
F Sweden - Denmark
Turkey:
F Black Sea - Constantinople
A Bulgaria - Serbia
A Constantinople - Bulgaria
F Eastern Mediterranean - Aegean Sea (*Fails*)
As a result the following retreats are expected for Autumn 1902:
- Germany needs to order its fleet out of Denmark or it will be disbanded;
- Russia needs to order its army out of Bohemia or it will be disbanded.
Retreats are due by Wednesday 23.00 GMT and will be adjudicated as soon as I have received all retreats marked as Final.
Builds for Winter 1902 are due by Friday 23.00 GMT.
As I will be away May 10-18, we'll skip next week so the Spring 1903 orders are not due until Tuesday May 20, 23.00 GMT.
Considering everything that has happened this Fall, that may actually be welcome (recover from shock, allow time to have ratio rule emotion, formulate clear messages to former allies, etc.).
Your GM

DC176 - Earlier deadline Winter 1902 - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Due to personal circumstances I have to reschedule the due date for the builds of Winter 1902 to Thursday May 8, 23.00 GMT.
Apologies for having to rush this through, but it is either this Thursday or Monday May 19. Would think you all prefer the former.
