dc445 spring 05 - the correct results - catsfather   (Feb 11, 2013, 3:38 pm)
Oh, once it starts going wrong it just doesn't stop.
Right, I did have Russian orders. I'd just not filed them right.
Retreat is still the same: Turkey with a deadline of 9pm GMT on Tuesday.

DC447 Spring 1903 Orders - Zoterik   (Feb 11, 2013, 3:51 am)
The Central Powers take a combined four centers from Russia and Turkey this turn, but there is still time for both powers to recover and find a way out of the mess.  Although, it's significantly more likely for Russia than for Turkey, especially if we don't find someone willing to step in the way of a proverbial train.  Meanwhile, France faces the moment of truth:  will the spinning top fall, or will the dream continue?

Three units were dislodged.  As no move was received for Turkey, I'll disband the Serbian army.  I need two retreats from Russia.  Summer deadline is 08:00 GMT, 13 January; I'll adjudicate when I receive the orders-or Bert can simply e-mail the group and I'll follow up with a map later.

TREATY VIOLATION: dc444 FL 04 - hapolley   (Feb 08, 2013, 11:33 pm)
To World Nations!
The kremlin has violated their solum Promise not to enter the neutral territory of Pru.  Germany forewarned by Austria of this attack when he requested surrender of Mun, and attack on France, for calling off 4 unit attack, prevented fall of Sil to marauding R armies.   The incredible sacrifice of the Mun army to protect Sil will be remembered by all members of the international game board.
To their credit international board game troops and navies are arriving in Norway, Finland and Livonia to bring this international outlaw centred in StP to his knees. It is hoped that with the fall of StP, the Communist take over will begin, and Russian armies will move on Bud.  Germany assures the Communist revolutionaries that should this happen all will be forgiven.
Rumours are circulating that Austrian troops are about to enter Tryolia  to begin a campaign to capture Ven.  All is expected to go well as Italian forces are expected to be two turns away in Mars.  Rome like Germany can not  believe Russia would abandon them to an Austrian attack!  But the Russian attack on their buddy Kaiser Hugh has them rattled.

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry to try your patience for the second time this
week, but I need to make a re-adjudication to the Autumn 04 moves for this game. I apologise most profusely for
this.

To cut a long story short, the source of error here has been my trying to get moves into the adjudication system promptly to hit our deadlines, and me making
errors in doing this.  These errors have partially been caused by my confusion over whether the abbreviation 'nor' refers to 'Norway', to 'North Sea', or to 'Norwegian Sea'. To keep the game moving I've been willling to try to interpret this for myself, in the context of valid orders. To try to stop these happening again, I'm going to become very strict on your responsibility for entering orders in
a non-ambiguous way.

It is your responsibility to ensure that I am able to understand the orders you submit, without ambiguity. In cases where orders could be interpreted in more than one way, I will order the
affected unit to HOLD. I will try to allow time to warn you of the ambiguity, however to keep the game progressing I cannot and will not promise to check your orders for validity every time before the deadline arrives. If you are unsure about using unambiguous notation in entering orders, I suggest you insert the province names in full in your orders.

I have also been asked to split apart the deadlines for the Autumn retreats, and Winter adjustments. This I cannot, and will not do. This is a tournament game, and the rules of the tournament affect all four games being carried out in this tournament, with the intention of making it feasible for the tournament to complete full game years in a week. There will remain rigid deadlines for the remainder of this game:

Mon 2100GMT Spring moves
Tues 2100GMT Summer retreats
Thu 2100GMT Autumn moves
Fri 2100GMT Autumn retreats and Winter adjustments

What you can do, however, is to
make your adjustment orders for winter contingent upon autumn retreats, either by yourself or by another player. This was clearly stated in the email I sent out starting this game off, prior to the Spring 01 moves.

Re-adjudicated moves:

Austria:
F Aegean Sea - Constantinople (*Fails*)
A Bohemia Supports A Tyrolia - Munich
A Budapest - Vienna
A Bulgaria Supports F Aegean Sea - Constantinople

dc444 Autumn 04 re-adjudication - jerome777   (Feb 08, 2013, 4:25 am)
Hi everyone,

I'm sorry to try your patience for the second time this week, but I need to make a re-adjudication to the Autumn 04 moves for this game.

Russia:    Supp  5 Unit  6 Remove  1

Best,

I've lost touch with Turkey in DC447. Not entirely sure what happened, but unless I hear from him soon there will be an opening. Turkey is at 4 centers in 1902, and it's an interesting position—certainly a challenge if a well-seasoned player would like to rise to the occasion.
