Hi All,
It is an unusual request, but this is the first time I strictly enforced the deadline. In other games, "obvious" retreats are auto-entered -- I don't do that simply because I like to keep the players guessing, for what that's worth.

Anyway, I am open for a vote, but it must be a quick one!
Should Rolf's retreats be allowed?  Yes or No.  You have until 6 AM MST tomorrow morning (Sat 7/2Cool to make your vote.
ONLY A UNANIMOUS YES VOTE will succeed -- missing votes are counted as NO. (Rolf, you don't need to vote Smile)

Rolf, I know it's been a busy time, and I've been pretty lenient with the deadlines when you asked, so in the future, a quick 5 second email saying "really busy -- trying ---" will work as an extension request. I'm not going to hold the game for several days, of course, but a couple hours or a day is not out of the question. I totally understand busy times at work and fighting fires (heck, I live in Colorado. We were the "Burning State" a month ago).

Thanks,
Mike

Sorry folks, but at the moment I can not guarantee 24 hour responses.
I know I have already been the cause of a  delay lately.
Reason is, I'm still fire fighting on the job, as my project (where I am the PM) didn't make it for the planned go live July13.
As for my retreats..  they would have been:
·         A Cyriss-Grendel     (which is more than obvious as it gets me a build)

·         F STX-Krynn              (but that disband doesn't hurt, as I may just rebuild the unit in Krynn)

If such late correction (with this delivery even after results) was acceptable to the GM & fellow gamers. I'd be more then grateful.
If not, I'd of course  also accept the NMR & disbands (rules are there to follow, I know)
and will continue to play - I'm not the guy to simply drop out of a game when my situation gets hopeless.
Yet hopeless it is  - but with one unit more, maybe it would be more fun for Mikes Ogres to bring me down, as their prey will be capable of playing a better match.
Wink
with magical greetings, waiting to hear your judgment
 Rolf

Betreff: DC406: Fall 09 Retreats Hi All,Perfect games are rare in Baseball, and in Dip.  It took until Fall 09, but we have our first NMR. No word from the Magicians, and so the units are disbanded.  Perhaps he was too busy getting his "Olympics Betting Pool" (my local pub is running one) bets ready. Or, maybe this is just a carefully planned re-organization of troops: the Mags get 2 builds!!
Yes, Olympic Fever is descending upon the world, a time when we cheer on extra-ordinary athletes doing the very best they can, while we sit on sofas with Cheez-it crumbs growing on our stomachs. Not everyone can be an Olympian -- personally, I do my best to prove that I will NEVER be an Olympian, unless "insomnia", "trivia", or "TV Watching" become Olympic-qualifying events.
A special "Huzzah" to the Mike Sims, Ogres with an impressive *6* Builds!!!
And picking up his gift bag on the way out is Michael Penner, Hobbits who put up a valiant fight and in the end sacrificed himself for the betterment of nearly everyone else (at least according to his final orders).  Thanks for Playing, Mike -- we have room on the couch for you!

Thanks,

As for my retreats..  they would have been:

From the comments made so far, I can tell that many of you received the retreats. However, there has been a report of a corrupted email requiring a resend.
Anyone else have a problem with the Retreats email?
Thanks,

DC406: Fall 09 Retreats /// NMR - offdisc   (Jul 27, 2012, 11:50 am)
Hi All,
It is an unusual request, but this is the first time I strictly enforced the deadline.

Thanks,
Mike

Subject: Re: DC406: Fall 09 Retreats /// NMR Hi All,
It is an unusual request, but this is the first time I strictly enforced the deadline.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi All,

Perfect games are rare in Baseball, and in Dip.

Thanks,

Mike

As for my retreats???.  they would have been:
??         A Cyriss-Grendel     (which is more than obvious as it gets me a build)
??         F STX-Krynn              (but that disband doesn???t hurt, as I may just rebuild the unit in Krynn)

Hi All,

Perfect games are rare in Baseball, and in Dip.

The votes came in!   I am seriously amazed at the results --- the Magician Retreats were accepted by ALL!!!  (One potential holdout, who simply missed the email).  Everyone still in the game voted YES! WOW!

So in addition to the other retreats, the Magicians order: A Cyriss-Grendel
 F STX-Krynn

And that changes our Adjustment standings, by a little bit:Magicians:   Supp  6 Unit  5 Build  1 Ogres:       Supp 25 Unit 20 Build  5
Deadline for builds remains the same, tomorrow Monday, 5 PM MST.  If you've submitted adjustments, feel free to change them!

Thanks,Mike--------

Hi All,Perfect games are rare in Baseball, and in Dip.

I'll spare the suspense this time-the proposed Russian solo has been declined, and the game proceeds accordingly.  I would have been amazed if it was approved, but there's a bit of anonymous Press for you anyway.  1905 begins with the Germanic nations scrambling to defend against invading forces.  The deadline for Spring 1905 Orders is 9:00pm US Central on 31 July, or 03:00 BST on 01 August.

I'd like clarification on the hobbit move for undermountain as it appears he attempted to move it to "I sacrificed myself to hold back the W/P" which I believe is an invalid province... However, if I'm not mistaken, the first three letter valid territory in his orders are sacRIFiced indicating an attempted move to Rift Canyon... while I'm all for Hobbits floating in the ocean, I really would not like to see that unit there if at all possible Wink

Great game Penner and thank you for sticking with it for so long.

DC431 Fall 1901 Adjudication - smileyrob   (Jul 24, 2012, 11:56 pm)
Gentlemen,
It took some time to get here, but the results for fall 1901 have arrived. Hopefully we can continue from this point without too much more (any???) delay.

The big loser in 1901 is Britain, who loses both Norway and Egypt while seeing France sail into the Channel. The big winner is Russia, who gains three centers, including Constantinople.

I generally adjudicate retreats and adjustments at the same time. Thus if you have an adjustment order, you can condition it on the retreats. Britain has two units to retreat, Italy one, and both need to end the winter with 4 units on the board, meaning Italy can build if Switzerland retreats OTB. Austria (1), Germany (1), and Russia (3) also have builds. Those orders are all due by Thursday, 8PM PDT. As usual, I'll adjudicate winter turns when I have all the orders, unless specifically requested to wait until the deadline.

DC432 Spring 02 Deadline Reminder - Joral   (Jul 24, 2012, 8:32 pm)
Ok guys. I am missing three sets of orders yet. I really don't want
to NMR half of the board. I've responded to the ones I have. One day
grace period, and we need to get this game back on track.

DC406: Deadline reminder!!! - offdisc   (Jul 24, 2012, 12:54 pm)
It has been a while since we processed some moves. Let's not make this drag out any more than it must.
Deadline in just over 24 hours, and I probably WILL PROCESS ON TIME!!!!
Don't take the chance of your units being suspended in disbelief that you forgot to tell them where to go.

DC428 Fall 1904 Orders - Zoterik   (Jul 23, 2012, 10:14 pm)
A lot happened this turn, but only one center changed hands-Italy takes Greece from Austria with Turkish assistance.  The Russian advance into Germany is stalled for now, but it's enough to invoke a bit of anonymous press and the first End of Game proposal.  Austria also has an NMR, but the result is about the same as it would have been if he had moved; the Austrian fleet in Greece has one retreat-Albania-which has been ordered.  The Russian army in Munich was dislodged but has no valid retreat, thus it is disbanded.

Adjustments are below the orders, as usual.  Austria, Italy, and Russia each have one adjustment to submit.  The deadline for Winter 1904 Adjustments is 9:00pm US Central on 26 July, or 03:00 BST on 27 July.

End of Game Proposal: RUSSIAN SOLO.

Please submit your votes within one game year (by the Fall 1905 Adjudication at the latest).

Interlaken Informant: The hills are alive, with the sound of... Russian jackboots.
