Tim Crosby is too good and should be banned until his skills become rusty like an old blade.  Keep the good out of the running - that's the only way to have a fair fight!

"It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. and sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing. The shadow, even the darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you - That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding onto something."

"What are we holding onto, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for."

There's one retreat to make. Given that the only valid retreat for Silesia is to Warsaw, I've auto-retreated the unit to Warsaw. Nigel, if you'd prefer to retreat OTB, let me know and I'll take it off the board. If you hear nothing by 2000GMT tomorrow, you can assume Nigel has decided not to change the auto-retreat.

The Autumn deadline is 2000GMT Thursday 10 May.

Best,

DC406: slight delay - offdisc   (May 04, 2012, 1:42 am)
Hi All,We are missing one set of orders from a fairly significant power. I will give them until Sunday to get moves in, otherwise it's NMR time. We also are looking for a replacement for a different player whose RL has invaded his Dip time. The Light Brigade request will go out tomorrow.

Regardless of all this, the Fall Adjudication will be released NO LATER than Sunday night, so you can start your week off with fresh moves and a fresh mind!
Thanks for your patience,

We do have a new board leader in France, who leaps out to a commanding
7-6-6-5 lead over the other "big" boys on the board.  We also have a couple
of retreats, as Italy defends by attacking in the Western Med, and the
Russia fleet is forced out of Sweden just as we all expected.

I was looking forward to sharing an evil chuckle at the Kaiser's expense,
but it turned out that the German misorder didn't make a lick of
difference.  Oh, well, maybe next time.

French F Western Mediterranean can retreat to Mid-Atlantic Ocean or OTB.

ADJUSTMENTS:

Liverpool goes over to the French, and so accounts for the only adjustments
this year.  England must remove a unit, and France may build one if he
wishes.

NEXT DEADLINE:

Retreats (France, Russia) and Adjustments (England, France) are due tomorrow

How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing. The shadow, even the darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you - That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding onto something."

I could not locate orders for Italy. Plenty of action all over the board once again.  Russia marches into Sweden, Germany sails unopposed into Edinburgh, while Russia and Germany trade control of German home centers.  England picks up Portugal.  Austria storms into Budapest, but Turkey is unable to regain Bulgaria due to Russian support. Three units are dislodged, but only two survive to retreat:
The German army in Berlin may retreat to Prussia or OTB.
The German army in Sweden has no valid retreats and is
destroyed.
The Russian army in Budapest may retreat to Galicia or OTB. Since the Autumn 1904 retreats are unambiguous, I'll go ahead and order them, to keep the game moving.  But if you do want to retreat OTB instead, please send me your disband order before the winter adjustment deadline.  Winter 1904 adjustments will be as follows:
  Austria:  build 1
Russia:  no change (or build 1 if retreat OTB)
  Turkey:  remove 1
The Winter 1904 adjustments will be due tomorrow, Friday 5/4 at 3pm Central (US) / 20:00 GMT.  Thanks! Cory ----- Fall 1904 results: Austria:

DC 420: Fall 1904 Adjudication - AceRimmer   (May 03, 2012, 2:20 pm)
The merciless (plague-ridden?) RAT continues its sweep across Europe.  The story in the Fall is much the same as the story in the Spring -- Russian success in northern waters (Norwegian Sea) teamed with Turkish advances in the Mediterranean (Gulf of Lyon) and stubborn opposition up the middle (no change).  English and French resources are being stretched perhaps to breaking -- is 1905 the year we see Italians in the Atlantic?  England's and France's only hope lies in a timely RAT schism -- a power grab or realignment that could have consequences even unto the Winter Blitz title.

Let us momentarily pause to honor our fallen German brother.  Rene, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say, "I'm sorry your opponents were a bunch of short-sighted self-serving morons.
Hopefully, this does not happen to you again in your next game."

And with that... let us progress to Fall retreats:The English fleet in Norwegian Sea may retreat to Clyde, North Atlantic Ocean, or OTB.
Winter adjustments are few -- just the Russian build and the German disband (which is automatic)... and an English rebuild if he retreats OTB:Austria:   Supp  7 Unit  7 Build  0
