DC 398, Spring 1907 - alwayshunted   (Mar 27, 2012, 11:15 am)
Hi group,
Well, turned out I couldn't keep my sleepy eyes open last night.....  but here we go.
A coordinated effort appears to have the mighty German empire re-evaluating.  All proposals for a final peace fail.
There is one retreat for Germany, Norwegian Sea can retreat to Barents Sea or Edinburgh. That will be due tomorrow, Wednesday March 28, 16:00 MDT
I can likely get that out sooner if I get it.
Here is the turn:

-----------------France: A Brest Supports A ParisF Clyde Supports F North Atlantic Ocean - Norwegian SeaA Gascony Supports A MarseillesF London HoldA Marseilles Supports A GasconyF North Atlantic Ocean - Norwegian SeaA Paris Supports A Brest

Three centers are left undefended, and a neighbor takes advantage.  Turkey marches into Marseilles, England sails into Portugal, but Italy marches into Paris.

Elsewhere, Turkey steams into Spain and also continues moving armies northward, while Germany knocks Russia out of Warsaw.

Three units are dislodged, but only one survives into the summer:

The English fleet in Spain (sc) has no valid retreats and is destroyed.

The German army in Bohemia has no valid retreats and is destroyed.

The Russian army in Waraw may retreat to Prussia or OTB.

Since the lone retreating unit has only one valid on-board option, I'll go ahead and order the retreat to Prussia.

Fall 1910 orders will be due Thursday 3/29 at 3pm Central (US) / 20:00 GMT.  Once again, an E/T endgame proposal is being offered, so please cast your vote along with your orders.  Thanks!

Cory

Two units are dislodged. One retreats to oblivion. The other retreats to Warsaw. You be the judge as to which has it better. So, no orders are needed until Thursday.
It looks to me like Turkey has hopes of French help. Never trust a Frenchman, Gareth. They can't even submit a legal order for F Apulia -- they're not to be entrusted with the fate of your nation.

I could not locate orders from England or Russia.  England thus banks his 3 builds, while Russia is auto-removed from Silesia per Blitz tournament rules.  Germany and Italy scuttle their last remaining fleets. Spring 1910 orders will be due Monday 3/26 at 3pm Central (US) / 20:00 GMT.  Note that British Summer Time will take effect this weekend, putting the UK 1 hour ahead of the unchanged GMT.  I think I have finally figured out the difference between European Summer Time and US/Canadian Daylight Saving

Well, we have two very distinct theaters in this conflict.

Men of the West: France take Eng and Bur while Russia takes Bar.  Everyone else bounces around, some by choice.  Will combats be positioned if hostilities end in the east?

Eastern hoards rush Turkey, who apparently has read this book and swaps one SC for another while going 3-on-1.  Will AIR hold together or do other opportunities seem more profitable?

Subject: DC 409: Fall 1909

No Austrian orders this season.  No doubt, this mucks up Germany's plans, as A Vienna S A Galicia-Budapest seems implied.  Oh well, it is not to be.  Hopefully, Nathan is okay, and we'll all shuffle off joyfully in Spring 1910.

Even without Austria's help, though, the FG alliance scores smashing victories, and two Turkish units (F Venice and F Apulia) are dislodged with nowhere to go.

Sadly, we also wave farewell to Fletch.  Arrivederci, amico.  From now on, we play with just four.

France, Germany, and Turkey all have builds.  That Italian fleet in Adriatic will automatically disband.  Orders due tomorrow!

DC406: Winter 04 is Here! - offdisc   (Mar 23, 2012, 1:41 am)
Apologies all!!!  I sent this to "dc406" instead of my Group "Dip406"!Mea Culpa.
Think we can get adjustments in by today (Friday) at 5PM MST?  We'll push the Spring Moves back to Wednesday next week, and get back on track for the Fall.

Mike

---------- Forwarded message ----------

Thought we might have more mis-communication leading to a retreat brawl and disbanding of units. But Archers went a different direction, and Gnomes survive.

Spring is officially here -- Happy first day of Spring!  The flowers in my yard have pushed through the frozen ground and some blooms have popped. A field of yellow dandelions and purple crocuses sits by my fence. But my front yard still has one little patch of snow. Weird....
