DC147 (wb0812) - Winter 1904 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi guys,

I couldn't find any orders from France. However, I erred in the last adjudication and did not mention the French fleets need to retreat from the Mid-Atlantic. It was shown on the map but was not listed in the needed retreats. With no French orders received, I retreated the fleet OTB and thus voided the need for France to disband.

Dan, if you do not wish things to be resolved in this manner, please get in touch with me - [u:e227521853]due to my omission in listing the needed retreat[/u:e227521853], I will allow a change if you get in touch with me within 24 hours. Barring that, deadline for Spring 05 orders will be set for Monday, February 5th (11:59 PM GMT).

Cheers folks!

Trout

DC152 (wb0817) - Winter 1904 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hey gang,

A couple missed orders for the Winter turn. The Kaiser gets a retreat in but fails to submit a disband. Also, I couldn't find a build order from England so the British waive the build.

The German army in Ruhr was auto-disbanded following the pattern laid out in the Winter Blitz Tourney rules:
- Units NOT in suppy centers before units in centers. (Which leaves Ruhr and Silisia)
- Alphabetically (R before S)

If I've missed some orders and you guys have a confirmation email from me, then please let me know in the next 24 hours or so. Otherwise we'll move onto Spring 05 with the deadline set for Monday, February 4th (11:59 PM GMT).

Cheers!

First of all Trout I will like to complain about that.

I never recieved the German retreat or lack of retreat.

And as such I did not, in my opinion, wave my build.

And as you know I am very puntucal about sending in orders.

I am not planning my build from what the others want to build, I made that up before the Fall movement.

Build A Edinburgh was the plan, can even provide the mails send to Germany and France to prove it.

René

DC150 Winter BUILDS 04 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Gentlemen of DC-150,

To address Andrew's question, as Fletch is the GM of the game then please follow his direction. (i.e. Submit Spring moves by Monday.) Steve will be online very soon and announcing this officially. Delaying the turn until Tuesday is a practice that we wish to use sparingly and only in extremely necessary instances.

Obviously, this whole situation once again raises the importance of copying all orders to the Orders CC inbox. The only reason that the missed build was allowed in this instance was because Andrew had a valid receipt of confirmation from Fletch dated prior to the deadline.

Concerning the timing and pace issues this game is experiencing - this is a matter that is being addressed between Fletch and the Tourney TDs. I apologize for any frustration that you, as players, are experiencing as a result.

I expect Steve, as TD in charge of games, will be addressing you all again shortly this evening once he comes online. (Australian time-zones.. meh...) This announcement is only to clear the air and confirm the Monday evening deadline.

Cheers,

Trout
Tourney TD (one of three)

DC150 Winter BUILDS 04 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Sorry guys, I've just been notified that Steve is unable to continue as Tourney TD. Please continue with the deadline as published by Fletch and submit your orders by tomorrow nights cut-off.

Thanks and best regards,

Trout

Cheers,

Trout

dc151 s05 results! - Every space... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Every space in England is now occupied as Russians take shore in Clyde and England is dislodged to York... German uboats are rumored to be in the Channel, and Turkey gets stuffed out of their capital...

Meanwhile life in Trieste remains a peaceful oasis amid the raging battles of Europe as everyone supports Trieste.

There are 2 retreats...
English London can only go to York
Turk Con can only go to Smy

So I'll enact both of those, if either player prefers OTB you may amend by 4pm tomorrow. Barring any update from me, these are the results.

Next: Fall 05 this Thursday 2/7, 2pm Pacific!

DC147 (wb0812) - Spring 1905 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi folks,

I could not find Spring 05 orders from France. Other than that we blast into Spring 05, all cylinders firing. One thing though, I allowed an order from England that used the abbreviation 'NOR'. This was let by because it was a support order and with the NMR from France, it would not have mattered in the end. However, please be advised that the abbreviation 'NOR' could be used to apply to 'North Sea', 'Norwegian Sea', 'Norway, or 'North Atlantic'... Use of this abbreviation typically results in a VOID order, so I find it best to avoid it altogether.

Two retreats are required from Italy - one from Spain and the other from Trieste. Deadline for Summer 1905 retreats will be set for Tuesday, February 5th (11:59 PM GMT).

Dan, if you have a confirmation from me that I missed please just let me know. Also please let me know if you spot any errors.

Cheers!

Trout

dc146 s05 results! Med-Day? - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
retreat

France and Italy coin "Med-Day" as the Mediterranean powers take the turn off...

Russia feels the heat as the central powers turn the heat on Poland, while England reclaims Brest but Germany gives the Frenchman an escape to Picardy!

Two retreats...
French Bre can only go to Pic
Turk Smy can only go to Syr

So I'll enact them both. If either player prefers OTB, you have 24 hrs to request it! Otherwise the adj stands.

Tory and Doug, if you've sent orders and have a "received" from me pls let me know ASAP!

Subject: dc151 s05 results! - Every space...

DC147 (wb0812) - Spring 1905 English Misorder (?) - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi everyone,

It looks as though I owe you all an apology. One of our good players has pointed out that I was possibly not adjudicating according to the Blitz rules. Specifically the Abbreviations section, which reads:

-----------------------------
Abbreviations
Ambiguous abbreviations will result in a misorder (the unit Holds). An order that could have multiple interpretations will fail. For example F NTH-NOR would fail, because this could mean F NTH-Norway or F NTH-Norwegian Sea. F StP-Nor would be valid since StP can only go to Norway, not Norwegian. "Nor" and "Liv" should be avoided as they can be problematic, although if only one possible order can be made, it will be allowed.
GMs and TDs will not check moves or abbreviations prior to the deadline. Moves will be adjudicated at the deadline and no leniency period to clarify orders will be granted.-------------------------------

The key part of the above passage is "if only one possible order can be made, it will be allowed." England used the 'NOR' abbreviation in the Spring, which would have been ambiguous except that he ordered it to support ENG. As North Sea is the only space beginning with 'NOR' that borders the English Channel, then I ruled that the order had only on possible interpretation.

Hope everyone is all good with this ruling. Please just let me know if you aren't and I will try to explain further...

Cheers,

Trout

Winter Blitz Games DC-147 and DC-152 - Fall 05 Dea... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Heya Blitzers,

Sending out an extremely late deadline reminder that orders are now due in approximately 5 hours. There will be about an hours grace this evening as I am on the highway this afternoon and may be delayed due to traffic and weather.

Cheers!
