Just a heads up everyone I will be travelling the next couple of days and may not be able to respond to messages. So if you do contact me and you don`t get an answer its because I can`t get internet, I should be able to get access by Friday at the latest.
Happy diplomacizing!

Hi all,You'd think that as the game progressed and the number of players was whittled down, that order processing would go smoother. I have come to believe the exact opposite. There is an inverse relationship between the length of the game and the troubles of the players. I will need to do more research on this though.

Finally, all builds are in!  But I got held up last night and was too exhausted to run the turn when I got home. We'll push the deadline again. I really hoped to be back on a regular schedule -- maybe that's too much to hope for with a map the size of Haven.

Anyway, it's a gorgeous day outside, so no more griping, complaining, whining! Smile

Come on you guys, there´s still a position open as the Picts in our Stonehenge variant!

Drop me an email and I´ll put you into this thrilling and rarely-run variant, where you can give the Vikings and Charlemagne a run for their money...!

Ah wouldn't you just know it. I finally fill the game queue after a month of trying, and then the very next day another player comes along to fill the post!

Thanks for the offer Max. I've asked the 9 original players to reconfirm that they're still happy to play in this game, given the fact the game was frozen for so long. If any of these players needs to drop out, then I'll gladly drop you back in. Otherwise, thanks for your help - but you'll need to wait for the next Stonehenge game to be launched.

I'm hoping someone else offers to GM a game of Stonehenge soon. I'd love to play in that variant... Wink

Hi Max,

All of the players have now checked in with me. Sorry about that.

Hopefully a new Stonehenge game will get put onto the site soon.

Due to the length of time Turkey has NMR'd, any failure to vote by
Turkey will be taken as a Yes vote in favour of a German solo.

Are G and A the same player?  If they are
then they're very cleverly
using different IP addresses when sending in orders.  When they both
come back from the bar with our drinks, I hope they thought to get
some nibbles too.

Russia votes yes!

GM, Do NMR powers have to vote yes for this to pass?

Their communications are similar, exercise perfect co-operation even when
not in best interest to do so?
Seem to know what other is up to?

In a game that I ran recently for this site, France concentrated on
attacking Italy while Germany had an easy time of it mopping up England and
Russia, until the predictable stab happened.  I think we all know at this
point that Germany is going to solo, it's really only a matter of when.  So
I'd suggest we just cede the point and move on.

France Beats a Hasty Retreat (Move) to Holland But Is It Enough?

Italy on the Defensive? Hard to Say with Two Centers Taken

Russia Pushed Back So It Seems

One Thing is for Certain - Lots to Still Be Fleshed Out!

All,

Sorry for the (probably) later than norm results. Day slipped away...fortunately everyone either sent me orders or copied the orders box! Looks like we have
a retreat option:

Italian A Bur can retreat to Gas, Mar or OTB

Get that to me by
4p CST tomorrow and I will move us along to Fall where Cory will resume on Thursday (the 8th at 3p CST - I believe that is his scheduled time). I will check in with retreat tomorrow and will follow anxiously what Cory does for Fall and Winter because
I will make another guest (celebrity) appearance next Spring.

Best.

dc410 Fall 07 Proposal Russia votes Yes! - hapolley   (Mar 05, 2012, 9:37 pm)
'I think we all know at this point that Germany is going to solo,
it's really only a matter of when.
So I'd suggest we just cede the point and move on.'

I accept this as proposal!
Russia votes yes!

GM, Do NMR powers have to vote yes for this to pass?

Are G and A same player?
Their communications are similar, exercise perfect co-operation even when
not in best interest to do so?
Seem to know what other is up to?

With Warm Regards!

DC412 - Spring 1907 Results - Corrino   (Mar 05, 2012, 7:35 pm)
Episode 13 - Rope-a-Dope, or Just Another Monday Night in the WBWF (Winter Blitz Wrestling Federation)

Watching our grand melee unfold from East to West, which just happened to be the sequence in which I processed the orders, I saw the following from my overpriced ringside seat:
Nothing... nothing... bob and weave... nothing... feint towards Vienna, easily blocked... nothing... a clinch in Iberia... 10 seconds left in the round...

POW!  A left hook to MAO!

POW!  An uppercut to Irish Sea!

The bell rings.  Two men are down and out.  But as their friends drag them away, two new combatants prepare to take their places the round after next.

Nobody won that battle.  Can anybody win the war?  Is anybody still watching, or are they just here to see the Round Card Girl?

RETREATS:  None

NEXT DEADLINE:  Fall 1907 orders are due Thursday, March 8, by 18:00 Eastern time.

Cheers,Chris

So, that's how these things usually work out.  It's not so much that you totally trounce your opponent; it's more that you gain a small victory here, and he gains a small victory there, but on total... well, the guy with the most units usually wins.

Turkey seizes Galicia.  But the Austro-Germans take Trieste and Ukraine.  The Turks slide into Apulia.  But the Italians slip right behind them into the Adriatic.  Meanwhile France occupies the Western Med and backs out of the North Sea.

On the whole, if you don't like the way things are going, you need more allies.

There is only one retreat.  The German army in Galicia auto-retreats to Silesia.  Mr. Penner will inform me if he prefers a disband.

Otherwise, Fall 1907 is due on Thursday!

dc410 spring 07 ... it's the end of the world as I... - catsfather   (Mar 05, 2012, 12:47 pm)
What just happened to Russia? England looks to have lost London and
there's a French fleet off the coast of Italy. Oh, this does not look
good.
Have any of you seen the new BBC interview with the British Defence
Secretary at the time of the Falklands?
"If you're asking me, 'Are the French duplicitous people?', then the
answer is, 'Of course they are, and they always have been.'"
Sorry France, nothing to do with you. I just think old, retired
politicians are fun.
As it says below, Italian F Tyrrhenian Sea can retreat to Ionian Sea
or Naples or Tuscany or Gulf of Lyon.
Deadline for retreat is Tuesday 18:00 GMT.

dc410 spring 07 ... it's the end of the world as I know it... (Winter Blitz) MDemagogue Mar 05, 01:09 pm
In a game that I ran recently for this site, France concentrated on attacking Italy while Germany had an easy time of it mopping up England and Russia, until the predictable stab happened.  I think we all know at this point that Germany is going to solo, it's really only a matter of when.  So I'd suggest we just cede the point and move on.
