DC 338 Winter 2017 Results Finally Complete - derekthefeared2 (Jun 14, 2011, 8:22 am) |
So sorry to all of you for my glitchy winter. Austria actually noticed the mistake with his builds and the retreat mistake right away last Thursday.. but for some reason yahoo suddenly decided that his e-mails were spam after a nearly a year of getting them... not sure why. But anyway.
As noted before England retreats Ank to the Black sea.
Austria's builds are A Vie, A Bud, and F Tri.
Both draw proposals fail. The game continues.
We we set the deadline for spring 2018 to be next Monday June 20th at 4:00 PM US Eastern time,
Will send out the map tonight.[Reply] |
DC376 - Draw Proposals - Corrino (Jun 14, 2011, 6:52 am) |
Good morning, all.
Seems that I accidentally left out one of the draw proposals last night. There should have been four, not three.
To recap:
New EGP # 1: DIAS. Draw to include all six surviving players. (Yes, this is valid regardless of what happens in the Fall. A player is not eliminated until the Winter turn.)
New EGP # 2: TIGER. 5-way draw, burning bright, to include everyone except France.
New EGP # 3: ET. 2-way draw, phoning home, to England and Turkey.
Now please add:
New EGP # 4: FIT. 3-way draw, peg meets hole, with France, Italy and Turkey.
Votes are due with orders on THURSDAY.
Cheers,
Chris

Hey Guys,
Let's hear it for democracy! You voted early. You voted late. You voted often, and when you were done voting, you proposed more votes! Glad to see everyone taking full advantage of their right of franchise.
Old EGP: The EGR 3-way draw was voted down.
Please vote your conscience (snicker!) with your upcoming Fall orders.
Quick News of the
season:
Turkey presses forward in spite of himself. Can't say Italy didn't ask for that one!
England presses forward towards Brittany, but is rebuffed in the Med.
Russia presses forward into his own capital.
Italy presses forward into the last of the teal towns. Is it France's last gasp?
RETREATS: Turkish F Albania is dislodged and is auto-retreated to Trieste, the only available space. The Sultan may change his retreat to be off the board by notifying me (or all of us) by 18:00 Tuesday evening.
NEXT DEADLINE: Fall 1912 orders and votes are due Thursday, June 16, by 18:00 EDT.
Cheers,
Chris

DC 387: 24 hour warning - Blueraider0 (Jun 13, 2011, 12:26 am) |
24 hours until the deadline folks!

"It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. and sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing. The shadow, even the darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you - That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding onto something."
"What are we holding onto, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for."[Reply] |

dc389 - Game Start - new German! - FuzzyLogic (Jun 12, 2011, 8:01 am) |
Hey everyone, quick update here!
Several of you have mentioned Germany is nonexistent in this game, and my own attempts to reach him confirm this. So rather than have you all sitting on the edge of your chairs only to have a false start tomorrow, I’m just going to pull him. Welcome Rene Kroll! Our new German leader. He goes way back with dc, sure to be a great addition to the game. Let’s give y’all a little time to get acquainted shall we? New Spring deadline of this Friday June 17, 3pm Central!
Note I’m only doing this cuz it’s the first turn and I’m not going to start a long game w/o a full complement of players - once we get going, there are no substitutions later…
Enjoy,
-mike
Oh, and don’t forget prelims. Always turn in orders right away, cuz you can change them if you want. That way you’re sure to have something in…

Since there's a couple of people going to be away for an upcoming week or two anyway - we'll pick it up again in July.
Tom, if you can get me you Fall 51 orders, maybe we can at least get that done?
I'll pop a flare around the 5th or so to see if everyone's still on board.

Well, is seems we've lost our Spanish player. Life has
reared it's ugly head and is keeping our friend Tom from running his country.
The beast seems also to have eaten the Ottoman. Though with 3 centers we can leave it in civil disorder - but Spain is in no such condition.
Anyway, Tom has asked to furlough the game for a month and he'll take be back online - or replace him.
I'd like votes from Austria, Britain, China, Holland, Russia, and the USA - and we'll go with the majority vote; replace Spain, or postpone the game unti July 11th.
