dc371: Build error - dknemeyer   (Apr 23, 2011, 9:23 pm)
Hi Everyone,
FYI, Egypt's build A Cyrene is invalid, as Cyrene is not an Egyptian home build location. While I gave Charles the option to place that army - army only, since he has already seen the other builds around the board - in another Egyptian home center he has chosen to waive the build instead. Updated map below.

It's not as bad as I worried it was. Still an error on my part, but
at least I can fix it.
Austria had ordered both retreating units to disband, but as a result

Okay...sorry for the delay. I needed clarification on some of the rules (I know, even I can get it wrong on occasion).

So, here's the thing...EGP's can only be voted into effect in Spring or Fall, not Summer or Winter. Therefore we have the following Winter adjustments:

Germany removes everything but F Den

France builds a F in Brest and Mar

Italy builds A Ven and F in Nap

Turkey removes F EAS

Russia builds A War and F StP(nc)

We move to the Spring of 05 on Monday the 25th at Fredrik's normal time. He will be back I think but copy both of us and the orders box just to be safe.

We Have an EGP - 3-way F/I/R with Survival for the Rest
Farewell England

German Capital Relocation to Denmark

All,

Lots of action in the Fall! We had two retreats, both of which were easy so I took them:

A Edi could retreat to Yor or Cly but it is irrelevant

A Mun could retreat to Sil or OTB. I took it to Silesia and will let David decide on which units to disband.

We have some adjustments:

France builds 2

Germany removes 3 (ouch)

Italy builds 2

Russia builds 2

Turkey removes 1

Let's get those in to my at 1pm CDT tomorrow!

Hey everyone, don’t forget builds are due in just over a half hour from now!

Oh and good news, I’ve heard from Cory who’s been unfortunately under the weather lately.  I’ll be covering this winter, plus next spring and summer, and then we’ll return you to your regularly scheduled GM by next Thu.

So yeah… this means you’re stuck w me for a lil longer.

Enjoy!

We have ourselves two retreats, but I just moved them to make the builds easier.  Turkey can opt to retreat Aegean to Smy instead if he so desires.  The German retreat is non-impacting, as it must be removed anyways.  Germany officially eliminated!

BUILD!

England:  Build 1

France:  Build 1

Germany:  Remove 2

Italy:  Remove 1

Turkey:  Build 1

Aside from the German removals which are obvious, we have 4 orders due for this Winter!  All due 24 hours from now, aka 8pm Central Friday 4/22!  (to me again)

Enjoy,

Thanks for the clarification Robin. Facing two players who are in lock-step is always tough, especially when it means that you are on getting the business end of a beat down. As everyone is aware we would not tolerate any true cheating and have ways to sniff that out. I have David in another game I am GMing and have seen nothing but stand-up, ruthless behavior. Ok, I kid a bit but you get the point.

As a note, I am waiting on clarification of a rule from my other site Moderator before publishing results; that is the cause of the delay. Hopefully I hear in the next few hours and can get this out.

Everyone,

I'm not sure your understanding of my last message was clear.

I didn't accuse anyone of being the same person.  I only observed that the moves were succinct between England and Germany.  I used the term 'like they were the same person'.  I know that the word 'like' implies a similarity not "the same" even I used them in the same sentence.  I could say alligator tastes "like chicken".  I'm fully aware of them being different animals.

Also -- I also hope you all know that my main intention was to inspire someone to take my side of this issue and vote down the F/I/R draw.

So -- no spite -- just have fun whatever you end up doing.  Feel
like it is worth a three way draw after all of that?  Your decision.

And yes, I think the biggest factor here was Austria's being a non-player.  I told some that I was worried about that way before the spring move was announced.

Cheers,

Robin CD

We Have an EGP - 3-way F/I/R with Survival for the Rest
Farewell England

German Capital Relocation to Denmark

All,

Lots of action in the Fall! We had two retreats, both of which were easy so I took them:

A Edi could retreat to Yor or Cly but it is irrelevant

A Mun could retreat to Sil or OTB. I took it to Silesia and will let David decide on which units to
disband.

We have some adjustments:

France builds 2

Germany removes 3 (ouch)

Italy builds 2

Russia builds 2

Turkey removes 1

Let's get those in to my at 1pm CDT tomorrow!

I am unsure why I couldn't attach the files to the last emails.
If it does not come through this time, please down load the dpy file from the diplomaticcorp site.

I know it's kind of moot, but technically F Tys can retreat to Naples, right? RealPolitik likes to autodisband units who NMRed,  but I believe he still gets the option, doesn't he?

HELLENISM SWEEPS THE NATION!

Rome - After yesterday's pronouncement by Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus that Athens, even while it burns, shall be Rome's official new Cultural Capital, it does appear to be the case that a love of all things Greek has become the official cultural trend in Rome this year. Manicus Onthestreeticus had this to say: "Them Greeks, they invented philosophy 'n culture 'n stuff, innit they? Tha's right, innit? Now bugger off while I go bone my new slaves." We applaud the wisdom of the common Roman patrician on this issue.

The Greek government currently in tatters could not be reached for comment.
