British mistake Russian A Kag for one of their own.
Turkey takes Kar from Britian and China takes Yun from France.
When I first started in hobby writing the wrong unit was an illegal order, I notice today most House rules require you to repair such orders. I did so this turn.

DC376 WB11 - Spring 1901 Results - Corrino (Mar 28, 2011, 7:00 pm) |
And they're off!
Hello, players, and congratulations to you all. We are NMR-free in DC376. Let us pray it shall ever be thus.
Since this is our first adjudication, and some of you have not had the pleasure of my GM'ing before, let's start with a general introduction on how we roll here in Corrino's house. First, I typically say something smart-assy to to start things off. This will be followed by a summary of the season's events, focusing on whatever it was I found interesting or significant. Frequently the summary will be based upon some flimsy thematic structure. Since we're just getting started I'm going to skip that this time, but you've been warned.
Game summaries may or may not contain any or all of the following
ingredients:
clever insights
strained metaphors
20- or 30-year-old pop culture references
snarky parentheticals
admonitions to the group as a whole to be more ________. (Examples: "prompt", "attentive", "interesting", "ballsy", "peripatetic"
Having concluded the summary, I'll then proceed to provide the deadly dry details -- things like the moves, the results, upcoming deadlines, and the like. Orders will come at the end, so they don't interrupt the continuity of the narrative. SC counts and adjustment tables and such will come after the orders in the Fall. Let's face it. I'd probably just eliminate the gory details altogether if I could, but there are always one or two sticks in the mud who'll throw a tantrum if I do, so instead I just hide that junk at the bottom of the message where you don't have to look at it if you don't want to.
A map will be
attached. It will show the end results of the turn. Some GM's give out maps with the little arrows on them. I don't. However, I will give you the Realpolitik .dpy file, so if you really need the arrowy map you can make one for yourself. Fair, right?
And that's what you need to know. Easy! The beauty is in the simplicity.
Today's summary is short and sweet:
1. Austria got screwed. Or maybe not. You never really can tell in Spring 1901, can you?
2. Russia likes to bounce.
RETREATS NEEDED: None.
NEXT DEADLINE: Fall 1901 are due Thursday, March 31, at 18:00 Eastern US time.
Are we having fun yet?
Cheers,
Chris

Unfortunately, I could not locate orders for Germany...
We do have two bounces right away, as England and France bounce each other in the English Channel, and Russia and Turkey bounce in the Black Sea.
Naturally, no retreats are due, so we proceed directly to fall 1901, for which orders will be due Thursday 3/31 at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT.

Hey all,
It's nice to actually see some movement on the board again. And there's quite a bit of it this time. The ionian sea changes hands again, England enters galacia (with a whole conga line of armies following him along), Turkey withdraws into a defensive shell... Lots of action for everyone! I auto-retreated Italian F Ion to Tunis, the only possble choice. We can change that to OTB if desired, with a deadline of tomorrow at 8:00 AM CST. Otherwise, I'll see ya on thursday!
Oh, and the draw fails. And is resubmitted. Again.
Hope round two is going well for all of you!

Emne: dc380 game start!
Welcome to our round 2 game of DC Winter Blitz 2011, everyone!
For those of you who don't already know me, my name is Cory Burris, and I have been a member of DC for nearly 5 years. Most of my Diplomacy in recent years has been limited to GM duties, as the task of locating billions of dollars for a cratering state budget has taken up a fair amount of my time. I work in the budget office of the Governor of Illinois, an unenviable task, as Illinois has been doing its best to catch up to California as the US state with the lowest bond rating. Even with a big income tax increase that took effect earlier this year, our state still can?t pay all its bills and balance its budget. Does anyone know where to find $8 billion fast?
Since this is a tournament game, there is a common set of rules and season deadlines that all GMs are observing. This can be found at www.diplomaticcorp.com/tournament.php -- be sure to click the "Rules" option near the top of the main screen once you go to this page. Notably, all spring deadlines will occur on a Monday, fall deadlines will be on a Thursday, and winter adjustments will occur on a Friday. GMs are able to choose the time when orders are due, so for this game, I am setting all game deadlines at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT.
An important note: when submitting orders, make sure to include the game identifier "dc-380" in the subject line, and also cc: the tournament's Orders box (orders-at-diplomaticcorp.com) -- this is for your protection in case your e-mail doesn't get through to me, or if I am not available and need a moderator to run a turn. One of my players in dc-291 sent an e-mail that didn't arrive in my inbox for a day, but fortunately did reach the Orders box, saving him from an NMR.
Press is allowed and encouraged. For those who are unfamiliar with press, that is simply generic messages that are made public as a part of the turn's results. Typically, press is just generic silliness that may or may not pertain to the game. There is actually some good press in the dc-274 game, so you can read the different turns on that game to see some examples. Please be sure to introduce yourselves to your fellow players.
Don't forget to check out the game's page on the DC web site at www.diplomaticcorp.com/game_page.php?game_id=dc380 -- I will update it after each adjudication. I will also e-mail each adjudication to everyone, as well as a .dpy game file for use in the Realpolitik adjudication software.
And now your lineups! We have a nice mix of experienced and newer members of DC for this game:
Austria: Mick Cox (mickstagman-at-aol.com)
England: Poul Hurup (hurup-at-pc.dk)
France: The Czech (theczechatwebdip-at-gmail.com)
Germany: Dan Sinensky (dan.i.sinensky-at-gmail.com)
Italy: Frank Bielschowsky (bielschowsky.f-at-googlemail.com)
Russia: Tim Fuhrmeister (timfuhrmeister-at-yahoo.com)
Turkey: Daniel Dzikowicz (ddz999cat23-at-yahoo.com)
The spring 1901 deadline will be Monday, March 28 at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT. Preliminary orders are strongly encouraged! Thanks for playing, everyone, and happy stabbing!

DC349 1st Strike F05 map correction - Sean2010 (Mar 27, 2011, 10:48 am) |
Hello Everyone,
The present DC349 file was in a season or state that didn't allow me to access map edit, so I've went back and started another file when the map is editable.
I'm not sure if the map edit would allow me to maintain the Aut05 retreats, so I've taken the liberties of:
Russian A Sil retreated to War
Italian F Ion retreated to Tys
Stuart Hobbs and Svenn please let me know if these retreats are acceptable if they are; we can adjust go into the Winter.
Stuart Winch, I would like to thank you for sticking it out to the end, and thank you for playing.
I apologize for my errors in the game.
