DC 345: Itean Retreat - AceRimmer   (Mar 17, 2011, 2:47 pm)
I have a retreat for Itea (actually, I've had it awhile... just now adjudicating...)
F Norway disbands.
W1909 Adjustments are due tomorrow from the Big 3: Adaria, Trigspor, and Zonotrichia. Usual time.
Adaria: Supp 10 Unit 9 Build 1
Itea: Supp 1 Unit 1 Build 0
Hembria: Supp 1 Unit 1 Build 0
Zonotrichia: Supp 15 Unit 11 Build 4
Trigspor: Supp 7 Unit 8 Remove 1
My, but that map looks glowingly green...

DC 345: Paint the Town Green - AceRimmer   (Mar 17, 2011, 9:32 am)
Well, top o??? the mornin??? to ye. If, like me, ye hae been a-wondrin??? what is up wit all this tomfoolery by Mr. Adaria Maslow Sir??? well, I don???t reckon this adjudication???ll clear yer noggin much.

But Zonotrichia is celebrating like it???s St. Patrick???s Day. He???s painting the map green. Hembria is doing is small part, too. And, as usual, it???s the children who suffer.

There are two retreats. The Trigsporan fleet in Baltic Sea auto-retreats to Gulf of Bothnia. The Itean fleet in Norway may retreat to Barents Sea, North Sea, or Skagerrak or off the board. Please get that retreat to me by tomorrow, Loki.

Then, hopefully before 3:00 p.m. tomorrow, we???ll adjudicate adjustments. Adaria still has a build left over from 1908. Hembria exchanges London for Brest. Itea loses Norway. Trigspor loses Berlin and Trieste, but due to the loss of his army in Berlin, there???s just one disband coming up.

And Zono-T? Let???s do some math??? +Berlin, +Norway, +Trieste, +one stockpiled build = +4. Warren is making good on his early promise to flood the screen in green??? which is only appropriate on March 17th.

Adaria: Supp 10 Unit 9 Build 1
Itea: Supp 1 Unit 2 Remove 1
Hembria: Supp 1 Unit 1 Build 0
Zonotrichia: Supp 15 Unit 11 Build 4
Trigspor: Supp 7 Unit 8 Remove 1

dc370 s03 results! - FuzzyLogic   (Mar 17, 2011, 9:17 am)
Some major battles this round, tho most of them seem to favor the westerners with France sneaking into Tunis and Germany blocking the advances into Warsaw.  What's next?  Well there's no retreats, so we move right along to Fall - due next Tue 3/22, 3pm Central!

Enjoy,

-mike

DC 359 Fall 10 Adjucation - untitled36   (Mar 17, 2011, 8:29 am)
*The Empire Strikes Back!*

Hey all,

Turkey manages something of a comeback this season. He retakes Trieste, but at the loss of the Adriatic Fleet. This leaves center counts exactly the same as last year, but we still need two builds due to destroyed units. Turkey and Italy both have the extra supplies lying around to recruit more troops (each can build one).
The draw fails, but is proposed again. So let's have everyone vote for the E/F draw with winter orders (even though france and england don't have builds due). Sound like a plan? Good!

non-negotiation phases, so shouldn’t require the new player to process.

Hey,

Just thought I'd drop a note... is anyone in this game interested in playing in round 2 of the WB?  (who isn't already)... We have room for 2 extra ppl in round 2 due to abandons from round 1.

Let me know!  Round 2 starts Monday... Note they're fast games.  2 adjudications per week.

Subject: dc354 w04 builds!

At last our long-awaited builds!  We bid the truly fondest
of fond farewells to our Archer and Centaur friends, and
also watch as the neglected empire of the Undead plunges
into the perpetual chaos of civil disorder.  Fleets that
once sailed magically with tattered sails and hole-ridden
hulls mysteriously disappear in the Sea of Shadows while
skeletons on the beaches of Thunderhead collapse into
decaying piles of bones never to move again.

Archers: Remove A Critter Country

Barbarians: Remove A Arctic Barrens, A Shady Vale

Faeries: Build F Ella, A Vinyaya, A Spiral Castle

Hobbits: Build A Krikkit, A Lindon

Knights: Build A Arborlon

Ogres: Remove A Diamond Mines, F Lankhmar

Pirates: Build F Riku, F Never Never Land

Rogues: Build F Dargaard Keep

Trolls: Build A Niflheim

Undead: Defaults, removing F RIVER STYX, F WEST SEA OF
SHADOWS

Wizards: Remove A Shining Stream

NEXT:  Spring 05 due next Monday 3/23, 3pm Central!

Enjoy,

-mike

dc371: Fa02 Results! - dknemeyer   (Mar 15, 2011, 4:26 pm)
Diplomats,

What a fascinating season and year! Persia orders what seems to be a tactical collapse and is not punished for it. Greece gets cute with advanced tactics and arguably does not meaningfully improve their position while not getting to build. On the other hand Rome explodes into the psychic lead with three juicy builds and no enemies beyond a lightly-flailing Carthaginian fleet. And the fore-mentioned Carthaginians and the quiet Egyptians appear to have found some peace between them, yet neither seems to be improving their position significantly.

Now, one of our players is going on vacation later this month. Thus the game will take a one-week hiatus, with no orders due the week of March 28th. That schedule shift is reflected on the game's dates below. Thanks in advance for providing plenty of notice and making it an easy decision to suspend the game.

There are no retreats. However we do have a vote called for a Roman Solo Victory. Make sure to vote FOR or AGAINST this outcome by our Thursday deadline. Failure to vote is considered a NO vote. Please also get me your builds by our usual deadline, 22:00 GST Thursday!

Gents,
The deadline for our upcoming fall season is just under 2.5 hours away. I have a full set of orders and expect to adjudicate in a timely manner, but the window for making changes is closing!
Good luck to all!

Gents,
We've got just under 6 hours until the deadline. Get thee orders in!
I am on a business trip this week so when I publish may be volatile. Anytime between 23:00 GMT today and 06:00 GMT tomorrow is a possibility. The deadline remains the same. However, you can invoke your single 6 hour grace period and submit orders after 22:00 GMT today.
Good luck!

DC 373: S1901 Beware the Ides of March - AceRimmer   (Mar 15, 2011, 10:36 am)
"Cry "Havoc!" and let slip the dogs of war"
- Mark Antony, "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar"

Usually, I offer commentary on the season's developments, but in this case, seeing as how I have sub-titled this game "The Ides of March", I hesitate to meddle with the potent cogency of Shakespeare.

There are no unconventional opening sets of orders; rather, it is the interplay of the openings that will generate flavor heading into Fall 1901. Retreats being impossible after Spring 1901, we will now proceed to Fall 1901 due next Tuesday, March 22, at 10:00 a.m. CST (15:00 GMT).

As you see, with each adjudication, I will attach a map of the last season's orders, a map of the board as it currently stands, and a .dpy file. The .dpy is a RealPolitik file [I adjudicate using RealPolitik]. So, if you have your own copy of RealPolitik and wish to follow along... go right ahead.

Also, I include the text adjudication of all orders (below). Orders are presented *as written*. This allows you to see exactly what your opponents ordered. It also lets you review my work for possible errors in adjudication.

And now, without any further ado...

"Havoc!"

Subject: dc366 F09 Results - Italian NMR, Italian Elimination
Date: Fri, 11 Mar 2011 00:09:10 -0500

Ciao Italy

Three for the Finish

New EGP on the Table

A Chink in the French/English Alliance?

Guys,

Pretty straight-forward turn with some interesting twists (i.e. England taking Holland). We bid farewell to our NMR'd friend Benjy and we are down to three. We actually had two retreats which only each had one option:

A Holland retreats to Ruhr

A Moscow retreats to Livonia

If France or England wish, these can also go OTB and would allow each country to add one to their build adjustments below. Winter adjustments are:

Italy remove 1 - uh. yeah. no order necessary

England build 2

Turkey no change

France no change

We also have an EGP!!!! The EGP is for a 3-way draw (EFT). Vote on this with your Spring10 orders.

Winter tomorrow at 6pm, Spring Monday at 6pm CDT (note the change to Daylight Savings Time...)

Garry
