Winter 1905 results with Map - cbconnell (Mar 10, 2011, 1:02 am) |
Welcome to the Game Grid.
There has been an End-of-Game proposal. The proposal is a four-way draw between England, Germany, Turkey and Russia. I need a private vote from each of the countries listed in the proposal. If any one of the four countries says no, than the proposal fails and we continue with the game. If all four countries say yes, then the game is over and there is no winner, but all four named countries share in the draw. I need your vote by 5PM MDT on Sunday, March 13 (midnight in London).
Status of the Adjustment orders for Winter of 1905.??
England: Build F London.
Italy: Remove F Tyrrhenian Sea.
Russia: Remove F Rumania.
Turkey: Build F Constantinople.
Turkey?
Assuming that the game will continue, the orders for Spring 1906 will be due on March 14, at 9:00 PM MDT. (04:00 London time, March 15) (time changes in the US this weekend, but I don't remember if GMT changes)

Same old, same old... that is, if by ???same old, same old???, you mean that Man is a fickle and treacherous being, the story of whose Genesis is rife with fratricide. In that case, yes, it???s the same old, same old. If by ???same old, same old???, you mean that Dip is a game for bloodthirsty backstabbers. Then, yes, we have a backstabber McJabber.
Point is: no matter how I turn the moves over in my mind, I cannot see how Adaria???s orders and their seizure of Kiel follows in the ongoing narrative of ZAT domination.
My, oh my, how very... Dystopian. I am reminded of the famous quote from "It???s a Wonderful Life":
Every time a Dipper stabs, an angel gets its wings.
Alright, well, I???ll let you all get to the adjudication. The less I chatter, the better. There is but one retreat: A Kiel retreats to Berlin. Mike, you can change that if you like, but I???m guessing you???ll keep it (technically, you have until 9:00 a.m. tomorrow).
Fall 1909 will be next Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. CST (which, I believe, will be 18:00 GMT ??? Daylight Savings Time and all that!)

Subject: DC356 Fall 1905 results with maps
Welcome to the Game Grid...
We say goodbye to another player tonight. Matt joined us in an almost impossible situation and kept Austria alive this long. But tonight he was eliminated. Thanks Matt.
We now have a 4 way race, that is basically tied across the board. Each player now has 8 units, with the exception of England - who is picking up a 9th unit this year. There was very little movement this season, yet some important battles were won. Turkey removed Austria and England took over St Petersburg. Germany was also able to recapture Munich. The tides have turned, and it will be interesting to see what takes place from here.
Movement results for Fall of 1905.
Austria: A Rome Supports F Naples (*Disbanded*).
England: F Barents Sea Supports F St Petersburg(nc).
England: A Burgundy - Marseilles.
England: F English Channel - Mid-Atlantic Ocean.
England: F Gulf of Bothnia - Livonia (*Fails*).
England: F Mid-Atlantic Ocean - Western Mediterranean.
England: F North Africa - Tunis (*Fails*).

Gents,
In my haste to get the adjudication done I forgot the Persian press!
The Persian settlers in the west are now well established, and the whole of the Fertile Crescent is now ours. By and large, friendly relations continue, although there is some strife on our southern boundary.
Traders tell us that throughout the Western Seas, navies are growing and armed ships are to be seen everywhere. Let us hope that our sailors, who have been undergoing urgent nautical training, are now equipped to join them.
Who knows what the future will bring?[Reply] |
dc371: Sp02 Results! - dknemeyer (Mar 08, 2011, 5:45 pm) |
Gents,
An important season. Peace between Greece and Rome appears poised to pay off for both powers, as Rome is assured three more builds if he chooses, and Greece has an impressive tactical deployment. On the other end of the spectrum the Persians are under duress, facing a systematic assault from a combined Greco-Egyptian assault. Somewhere in the middle are Carthage and Egypt, who - while not in peril at the moment - each have some issues to address.
No retreats so we plow forward to the Fall! Prelims due Friday, final orders by Tuesday! Also, apologies for the orders not being alpha by country but that is how Realpolitik spits them out. Not going to bother changing them as it threatens to delay my adjudicating which I'm guessing nobody would be happy about!

Subject: dc358 spring 1909 correction
Jeff has brought to my attention (he sent notice within the 24-hour time limit on corrections) that I missed a revision to one of his spring 1909 orders, which makes for a substantial change in the results. Italy's attack on Munich succeeds.
The dislodged German army in Munich has no valid retreat and is destroyed. I'll go ahead and re-run the summer 1909 result with England's NRR as well, since that is not affected by the action on the continent.
Sorry for the GM error!
Fall 1909 orders will still be due Thursday 3/10 at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT. Along with your orders, please cast your votes on the following endgame proposals:
* 4-way AGIT draw; and
* 3-way GIT draw
Thanks!
Cory
