Hi Players,
Pushing and shoving all over the Continent this turn, while the seas remain unchanged.
Russia destroys another French unit, this time in Ruhr. One might observe that these modern French generals are not exactly of Napoleonic caliber. Or perhaps it is just the result of years of neglect when French francs were being spent on out-navying the British? Either way, they had best make a stand soon or there will be Cossacks marching through the vineyards.
Turkey and Austria, on the other hand, contrive to deal the fearsome White Army a solid blow to the gut. Serbia was an expected loss, but you can mark down Trieste as a bonus. It seems that one of the Russian attaches got a sloppy and confused Tyrolia for
Bohemia! I wouldn't want to be in his shoes right now.
RETREATS:
French army Ruhr has nowhere to go. Poof! It is removed from the board.
Russian army Serbia has one retreat only, to Serbia. Of course, if the Tsar so commands it, the unit may be disbanded prior to the Winter turn.
ADJUSTMENTS:
France is +1, embarrassingly.
Turkey is +1, deservedly.
See below for the complete status charts.
EGP:
Another DIAS has been proposed. Votes are officially due on Monday with the Spring orders. If I get a FINAL "NO" by tomorrow I'll kill it early.
NEXT DEADLINE:
Autumn/Winter orders are due tomorrow night at 18:00 EST. Nothing going on for me so far as I know, (Poor Chris!) so the results ought to be pushed out pretty quickly.
Cheers,
Chris
Orders as resolved. Mistakes should be pointed out to the GM... gently... as soon as

All,
Benjy disappeared this turn. We move to Winter tomorrow at 6pm CST. France has two builds and Turkey has one. TECHNICALLY, Benjy has the opportunity to retreat Tri or Tyr to Vienna and choose to disband Nap or Pie. If I hear that he wishes to do that as part of Winter then I will update the map accordingly.
Thanks.

Well, we have two nmrs this spring, one from Turkey (not completely surprising) and one from Russia (much more surprising). The five way draw proposal fails, and we are moving onward.
Russia has a retreat due:
Russian F Gulf of Bothnia can retreat to Finland or OTB. As there is a choice of disbanding the unit, which is a possibility, I'm going to run this summer turn. The retreat is due tomorrow, March 4 at 17:00 MST.

The 4-way AGIT endgame proposal fails again, so our game continues.
Germany sails to the North Sea, while Italy sails to the Gulf of Lyon. No other units move!
Although no centers have changed hands since last winter, there will be a winter adjustment phase, since Italy had a unit destroyed during the spring. Fletcher, your winter 1908 adjustment order will be due tomorrow, Friday 3/4 at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT. Thanks!

dc357 Fall '08 Results - Nigs (Mar 03, 2011, 10:56 am) |
Currently not in Leeds myself though I'm only 25 miles away today, and since January I've been to Scotland, London, Lake District and the west - probably all the provinces in a Diplomacy map of England. Thanks for the congrats - its unusual to be able to hold an agreement together throughout a game (assuming no stab now). I think the draw will happen officvially tomorrow (and if it doesn't I'll know who voted against!) I guess the English and French agreement in this game lasted exactly the same length, but did not meet with the same success. Unusual to see so few changes of alliance
Thanks to Christine for GM'ing, and to everyone for playing.

*World-wide Grid-lock, Only Six Units Move*
*Germany Survives Another Year!*
*Moscow falls (again!)*
Hey all,
While very little happens this year, the big news is the fall of moscow. This is the third time Moscow has changed hands, and the second time the English have taken control of it. Other than that, Turkey and France trade Bohemia and Silesia, and there's a bit of less dramatic manuvering in the west. That's pretty much it. With so few moves succeeding, we do have two retreats. However both only had one option, so I auto-adjucated them. I moved French A Sil-Ber and Turkish A Mos-Sev. OTB is of course acceptable as well, should they choose that option instead.
This leaves us with England gaining a build, and Turkey losing a unit. Those adjustments are due tomorrow at 8:00 AM CST (14:00 GMT). The deadline to change the retreats to OTB is obviously the same time as well.
Have a great day!

Date: Sat, 26 Feb 2011 12:26:55 -0500
Sorry all...I forgot that I had set separate retreats from Winter turn on this one (too busy thinking about WB!).
We have the following retreats:
Bur A Boh retreats to Sax
Bur A Lan retreats to Dij
Sic F Mor retreats OTB
Ukr A Mus retreats to Nov
That leaves us with the following adjustments for Winter:
Burgundy - remove 2
Byzantium - build 1
Sicily - remove 1 (I have already rec'd this Mike but of course you can still change)
Hungary - build 1
Israel - build 3
Spain - build 1
Ukraine - remove 1
For the record, that is NOT a typo - Spain does build another.
Since I am behind getting this out, let's hold for builds until Wednesday. We will then set our Spring 1909 for the following Thursday.
Thanks.

The Itean fleet in Denmark retreats to Sweden.
This sets up a bevy of adjustments, most of which have already been submitted as final.
Adaria: Supp 10 Unit 7 Build 3
Itea: Supp 2 Unit 3 Remove 1
Hembria: Supp 1 Unit 2 Remove 1
Zonotrichia: Supp 12 Unit 10 Build 2
Trigspor: Supp 9 Unit 8 Build 1
These orders are due tomorrow at the sophomoric time of 3:00 CST (21:00 GMT).
For your edification in the Useless Knowledge department, I assign *Fail*, *Cut*, *Ordered to Move*, etc. flags based on RealPolitik's adjudication. [The one exception that I can think of right now is that I sometimes have to append a *No Such Unit* flag, which is beyond RealPolitik's capabilities].
So... I actually agree with Maslow's contention that the fleet in Spain did not fail in offering support for F WMe-MAt (though I disagree that the support order was 'wholly invalid'... see below)]. The support was fine. The failure, instead, rests with Maslow's fleet in MAt, which failed to get out of the way, thus rendering the Spanish support bootless. In other words, the failure was assigned to the wrong unit but to the right player But back to the contention, the *Fails* flag reflects RealPolitik's peculiar programming, not my own judgment.
To illustrate the non-failure-ness of the Spanish support, let us imagine that two DRE fleets (rest their souls) had attacked MAt this season (F NAf S F Por-MAt); in this imaginary case, the Spanish support would've been essential in preserving Adarian control of the high seas. [And, just for the record, I checked, and RealPolitik would not have assigned a *Fail* flag either... so perhaps the true failure here really lies with DRE for failing to survive until F1908 and provide effective resistance to Maslow?][Reply] |

Right... blame the little guy... and I accept it fully. Guess I decided to be as annoying as possible on my way down. It makes dying a little more fun.
