Austria Misorders But I Think He Was In Trouble Anyway
Russia NMR's But It Doesn't Hurt Him, Yet.
Germany First To Go? Russia Will Give Him A Run For His Money
Turkey Switches Alliances Again...Will It Cost Him In The Long Run?
All,
Quite an interesting game. Sadly we have another NMR from Russia but I don't think it matters much. We need two retreats:
German A Mun can retreat to Silesia or OTB
Austrian A StP can retreat to Finland, Livonia or OTB
Need those by 6pm tomorrow.
For the record, the "invalid" Austrian order below is the one that was a misorder.

DC 363 WB11 - Spring 1905 Results - Corrino (Feb 07, 2011, 7:55 pm) |
Greetings Players,
Happy Monday to all, and congratulations to any Cheeseheads out there. Not the prettiest game ever, but it worked for me. Once the Pats went out there were about 5 million new Packer fans in the northeast. We were all impressed by their gutty performance in Foxboro during the regular season and besides, we just ain't gonna cheer for the Steelers. Go Pack!
Our conflict here in DC 363 may lack the blood, sweat and Gatorade of the Super Bowl, but otherwise the parallels are many. Strategy, tactics, deception, deployments, and plenty of hard hitting in all four quarters... of the map!
Highlights (or low lights, depending on your POV):
Italy's battered offensive line tries to hold their ground, but the
all-star defensive line put out there by A/R/T is just too strong. The defenders clog the middle and bring the heat on the outside. The left side of the O-Line does its best but still can't seal the gap against RDE Vienna. Things are even worse on the right side. Ionian, the right tackle, is knocked into the backfield by bullrushing RDE Aegean, while the stunting OLB Serbia completely blows up the right guard, Greece.
If Italy-Austria represent fighting in the trenches, the northern seas are the speedsters. "Everybody go long!" says the E/F quarterback. Nice idea, but the Russian DB's suss out the Blue Duo's plans and are there to knock down the deep pass to Barents. Incomplete. Everybody has to go back and huddle up again.
Which leaves Germany. The Kaiser Kids are famous in gridiron circles, but this edition are getting their ample backsides handed to them by
the Rushin' Russians and Fancy Pants of France. It looks like the ball is on the ground and it's a free-for-all! At the
end of the turn, Denmark and Kiel are both buried under a sea of white and teal jerseys. By the time the refs clear the pile, there are only enough parts left to make one fleet, which limps slowly off to the locker room to get taped up for the second half.
RETREATS:
Germany: F Denmark can retreat to Helgoland Bight. F Kiel can retreat to Helgoland Bight. They can't BOTH retreat to Helgoland Bight! GM flips a coin and auto-retreats Denmark to HB and Kiel off the board.
Italy: F Ionian Sea can retreat to Tunis or Tyrrhenian Sea or Naples or Apulia or Adriatic Sea or OTB.
NEXT DEADLINE: Retreats are due by Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 18:00 EST.
Cheers,
Chris

Hi people,
Here is the slightly late winter turn. Dorian is back with us now so we will try to keep things moving along.... if the GM can manage it that is.....
Spring will be due this Friday, February 11 at 17:00 MST.
Turkey builds three new armies, France builds an army in Paris, and the English army in London packs up and goes home.
Maps attached. Talk to you soon.

Well, crap. Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap, crap, crap.
I have always had nightmares of this sort of thing, but it has never happened... until today.
I have adjudicated a full day early.
Two options occur to me right now.
1 - we can live with the moves as adjudicated, or
2 - we can have a rollback and a new negotiation period and re-do this season all over again.
Please let's discuss this as a group. I will give added weight to Mr. Penner's opinions for obvious reasons.

Psh... I doubt a redo would really help me much... I'm desperate for allies, but a delay probably won't help that. I merely ask that the world remember the humble Hembrians as the ones who sacrificed themselves to rid the world of the Were-Hamsters and pay us due respect with an international holiday.

DC352 - England 2nd NMR - TrustMe (Feb 07, 2011, 4:49 pm) |
As this is my first game as GM, I copied another person's rules. So I
wasn't entirely sure what my published rules were regarding NMR's. I
just reread them, and after England's NMR I should have sent him a
note warning him that a 2nd NMR would result in Anarchy. Since I
didn't do so, I will leave it up to the rest of the group to help
decide his fate. If you think we should put him in Anarchy while I
search for a replacement, I will do so, if he is willing to stay in
the game this can serve as his official warning.
Let me know either privately or reply to all.

I don't mind either whatever we decide to do, so long as everyone is happy.
If Saurabh wants to continue, why not give him the warning, and then give a new deadline for the current move?

The Hembria Beat-Down continues, and I???m sure that Michael Penner is feeling the pain. Hembrian units flee the Adarian front in MAt, Hol, Gas, and Edi (two by dislodgement). Itea holds firm (and even advances into Hembrian Kiel) but at the expense of further flanking in Prussia. A tidy cleanup of Hembrian units may not be in the cards for F1907, but barring unexpected aid, Hembria will soon find himself in the dust bin of history.
Retreats?
