DC 335 End Game Proposals - fencertim   (Oct 04, 2010, 2:20 pm)
There has been a proposal (two actually) put forth for a draw between France, Russia,
and Germany.

This means that the game would be finished. France,
Russia and Germany would
share the victory. The rest of the players will receive survival status.

Per the rules of Diplomacy votes can only be counted during major
turns. So, please submit your votes with the Spring 1905 orders. In order to
pass there will need to be 7 Yes votes. Failure to submit a vote is considered
a No vote.

If I receive 7 Yes votes the Spring moves will not be revealed.

Let me know if you have any questions.

dc310 update - FuzzyLogic   (Oct 04, 2010, 9:00 am)
Hey all,
Sam has notified me that he has to take some time off from Diplomacy...

So I'll be covering this game for the remainder!  Someone send me the current RP file please... and moves... well, I'm not quite sure which turn we're on but I'll see that just as soon as I have the RP file.  Then moves are due (for whichever turn we're in) Wed 10/6, 3pm Central!  Since ppl said in the public strings that they'd accept a draw only cuz of the game being in limbo, I don't consider that reason enough to call the game.  So we have 4 players here, moves due Wed!  If you all want a draw, someone can propose it this turn, and vote on it next turn just like normal draw proposals.

Note, this game will move along.  If you're used to having "bonus time" or whatever after each turn and turn in late, you'll probly find your units sitting around while everyone else is moving!  Note:  my house rules (now attached to the game) are now what govern any future decisions.  The excuse of "Hey, NMR's werent enforced for the first half of this game so they shouldn't be now" will not be accepted if you NMR!  Perhaps... "My dog ate my computer" or "I was kidnapped by an alien taken to their home world and left my Earth-communicator at home" will do better... but don't count on it.  Smile

Enjoy!

Fun times! Based on the bit I hear and the number of times that orders changed I am guessing that this game is proving quite entertaining (or annoying depending on your locale). Well, it only took 3 short seasons and we need retreats:
A Bavaria can retreat to Hesse, Swabia or OTBF Sweden can retreat to Skagerrak, Bornholm Sea, Baltic Sea, Latvian Sea, Gulf of Bothnia, Norromark or OTB
Let's get those retreats by Friday at 4pm CST (NOTE THE EARLIER TIME). If I get orders marked "final" before then I will send out the retreats.
Beyond that, Fall will be next Tuesday at 6pm CST. That will allow us to get in one last Spring before I get off for my wedding and honeymoon. A reminder that we will be on sabbatical from approximately the 13th until the 28th (The Lord of the March gets a Lady AND a trip to Rom and Tus).
PLEASE DOUBLE-CHECK ORDERS. I DID THAT TOO BUT THERE WERE A LOT OF VERSIONS AND I AM ONLY HUMAN.
Well, that should cover us. Good luck with your Fall negotiations.

The DIAS vote did not pass, so a new Tzar was found.

Jack McHugh

Welcome aboard Jack!

Russia had two retreats that turned to disbands for being
unordered.  To be fair I'm giving Jack the chance to retreat those
units:

F Arabian Sea can retreat to East Africa or Yemen or Central Indian
Ocean or Persian Gulf.

A Kazakhstan can retreat to Ekaterinburg or Uzbekistan.

The deadline for these retreats is Monday, October 6th (at) 2359
UTC.

The dealine for Fall 1913 orders will be Thursday, October 9th (at)
2359 UTC.

Sorry it's so short, but I'm going out of town Friday morning.

open games - light brigade! - FuzzyLogic   (Oct 01, 2010, 8:04 pm)
It’s been a while since we’ve had to call on the
LB, but it seems we have a few games that are backing up looking for
players.  3 in fact!

Game 1
dc307, Orient Express
Here we need someone to pick up a 14-sc Russia in the cool
Asia map.  This one should go fast, it’s literally a solo in a bag
for an able diplomat.  Just add blood.

Game 2
dc331, Gunboat
Want something not so heavy on the dipping?  How about
a walk in the park, or a nice game of gunboat!  Matt’s game is
looking for a new 8-sc Egypt for a modern map.  Egypt is always a stalwart
in Modern, in gunboat doubly so.

Game 3
dc342, Imperial Margerine
Here we have Jerry’s wonderful Imperial map, and a
need for a second strong Russia in today’s list!  Look for this game
to be a pretty big commitment, as it is a world scale game.  Needs a
strong diplomat to carry a pretty good position thru the midgame here!

Join any game!  If you have taken a LB game recently,
don’t feel obligated, and if you haven’t, maybe it’s
time?  Remember that taking on the most replacement games in the LB does
earn you a spot on the DCI, the highly coveted DC Invitational yearly game.

Thanks!

dc325 Imterra - W07 Results: Continental Assault - garry.bledsoe   (Oct 01, 2010, 12:26 am)
Is the continental assault gearing up? Three army builds would seem to indicate so as England builds A in Edi and A in Lon and France builds one in Par. The lone F build occurs in Mar by the French.
Italy clears units from the east front (F Nap and F Alb) as does Germany (A Sil, A Boh).
Thursday Oct 7th at 6pm CST for Fall.

England: Build 2France: Build 2Germany: Remove 2Italy: Remove 2

[DC 328] THE END - dreamsynergy   (Sep 30, 2010, 10:14 am)
Fall 1906: the year that has been dubbed the Year of Truth.
A secret meeting has convened in Geneva, Switzerland(the one and only truly neutral piece of territory on the board). The leaders of the major powers of Europe gathered in secret.. and a conclusion has been reached. Peace shall reign in Europe once more!

End of Game
-------------------A 4 way draw has been reached. England, Germany, Italy and Russia will share equally in this draw. France and Turkey are considered to have Abandoned the game. Austria has been eliminated. I would like to thank those players who have shared their
thoughts with me throughout the game; it spices up the game for the GM
as usually one has to miss out on all the interaction.

May I invite you all to write your Endgame comments? About your
fun and grievances, your victories and your defeats, your GM and the
players, about the missing pieces to the puzzle. I love to read those.

Ownership of SCs at the end of the game is as follows:

England:   Brest, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London, Norway, Sweden.
France:    Marseilles, Paris, Portugal, Spain.
Germany:   Belgium, Berlin, Denmark, Holland, Kiel, Munich, St
           Petersburg.
Italy:     Bulgaria, Greece, Naples, Rome, Serbia, Trieste,
           Tunis, Venice, Vienna.
Russia:    Ankara, Budapest, Moscow, Rumania, Sevastopol, Warsaw, Constantinople
Turkey:   Smyrna

Austria:   Supp  0
England:   Supp  6
France:    Supp  4
Germany:   Supp  7
Italy:     Supp  9
Russia:    Supp  6
Turkey:    Supp  2

Results will be uploaded shortly.

DC 341: W1901 - AceRimmer   (Sep 30, 2010, 9:39 am)
Well, no surprises really. Armies where you???d expect armies. Fleets where you???d expect fleets.

Just as a note: in the last two seasons, I have twice received order sets with errors that were later corrected. Because they arrived 24 hours pre-deadline, I notified the players and they corrected the gaffes??? but you might want to proofread your orders.

England is out of the loop for a few days, so the Spring 1902 adjudication will be pushed back a couple of days to 10:00 a.m. CST, Thursday, October 7th.

Austria:
A BUD
A VIE

England:
Build F-Edi

France:
A Paris
A Marceilles

Germany:
A MUN
F BER

Italy:
Build F Napoli

Russia:
Build A Moscow

Turkey:
