Diplomats,
I wish that I could say that I have orders from all of you, but I don't (yet). This is a reminder that the orders are due in about 24 hours. And don't rely on these reminders from me to send in your orders. Send in preliminary orders to make sure that you will not receive an NMR.

Next turn: Spring 1901 MovementNext Deadline: Tuesday, 31st of August 2010, 18:00 GMT (6PM).

DC 333, vote result - alwayshunted   (Aug 30, 2010, 11:20 am)
England has his build... what a generous bunch you are.

Sorry for the delay, busy weekend. I'll get an official mail out soon with a map and all, but for now proceed knowing that England has a fleet in London. I'm still going to keep the deadline for Friday if that's okay with everyone. Spring 04 Friday Sept 3, 17:00 MDT.

Talk soon,

Standard Game DC 338 Spring 01 Due Tomorrow - derekthefeared2   (Aug 30, 2010, 5:52 am)
This is a reminder that orders are due tomorrow Tuesday August 31st at 3:00 pm US Eastern time.  Don't forget!  I still haven't received orders from some of you.  If I haven't responded to your e-mail then I did not get it and you should resend.  Thanks.

Hello and welcome to the game.  This is the official kickoff of the standard game that will henceforth be known as DC 338.  The webpage for the game can be found on diplacorp.  I will post all results there but I will also e-mail them to you.  I will send maps both as gif files and as realpolitik files with every season.

The country and player list is shown below.  I tried to give everyone one of their top two choices, but there was a country that no one has selected as one of their top 3 so not everyone got their choice.

I will set the first deadline to be Tuesday August 31st at 3:00 pm (US Eastern Time) to give plenty of time for the first season.  After the first season I will put the deadlines a little closer together.

The game will use the standard diplomacy games rules and the diplomaticorp house rules.  Both can be found on the diplomaticorp website.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  I will be happy to answer them.

Please confirm once more that you are still on board and can make the deadline.  Look forward to GMing for all of you and best of luck with the lying and backstabbing.

Hey Players,

Here's another 24 hours gone by and I still have just 6 sets of orders.  Our English King is once again AWOL.  That means he scores his second NMR of the game, and once again I'll go through the process of trying to track him down.  He's a busy man, I know, but that's not your fault or mine, is it?  I'll let you know if he turns up or if we need to acquire a replacement.

So, did he at least pay a terrible price for his inaction?  Ha!  I'm actually pretty sure it didn't make a damn bit of difference.  I'm planning to submit a record of this turn to the World Diplomacy Hall of Fame for their consideration in the category "Most Boring Season".  How boring is it?  It's so boring, that's the best joke I could come up
with.

C'mon guys!  Wake up!  You do know what they say about crazy people and repetitive actions, right?

RETREAT REQUIRED:  Italian F Mid-Atlantic Ocean can retreat to North Atlantic Ocean or Irish Sea or Gascony or Western Mediterranean or off-the-board.  Please get that to me within 24 hours, Monsignor.

ADJUSTMENTS:  None.  Nada.  Zilch.  34 dots on the board and they're all colored just the same as they were before this year started.  Wait a minute!  If Italy retreats his fleet off the board, he can rebuild a new unit back home in Rome or Naples.  (I think the Austrians might be insulted, though.  They're taking such good care of the place.)

NEXT DEADLINE:  Retreat & possible adjustment tomorrow night for Italy.  Next Wednesday for everybody else.  8:00 p.m. Eastern U.S. time, same as always.

Cheers,
Chris

[DC 328] Declaring a draw - dreamsynergy   (Aug 26, 2010, 8:59 pm)
Hi all,

You all have received an End Game Proposal(EGP) from Hac for a 5 way draw (DIAS-Draw Including All Survivors.)

If the vote is successful, it means that all players, with at least one SC under their control will share in the Draw, and the game ends.
If the vote is unsuccessful, the game will continue on as per normal.

All EGP votes follow a closed voting format, that is to say, your votes are secret. For your vote to be recognised, send it as a personal mail to me, OR you can send it with your orders for that season. Any "open" votes will not be recognised. This is so that players are free to make promises to vote yes/no, and vote something else secretly.

For the vote to be successful, I must receive a YES vote from every surviving player in the game so far. A non-vote will be counted as a NAY vote.

This EGP will be up for voting from now till the next adjudication, i.e. with 1904 Winter Builds.
You can always propose EGPs at any time of the game, and I will schedule the voting time(usually between one abjudication to another)

IMPORTANT: some GMs rule that EGPs can be proposed without a vote HOWEVER that's not how it works with my games.
Anyone that proposes an EGP, automatically, that is by default, votes IN FAVOR OF the EGP. Therefore if someone wants to propose an EGP but wants to vote against it for whatever reason, he needs to make that NAY vote explicit.

Regards,
Ben
