DC-322 Draw Proposal - benevolent_dictator (Jul 31, 2010, 12:35 pm) |
I believe Chris is right. I, too, will vote for it
so we can get some additional feedback to Ben on the current state of the
game. For now, this has devolved into a game of military tactics instead
of diplomatic relations.
I recognize that if the draw passes, I will be sparing
each of you gentlemen a bodacious Anglo-Saxon butt-whippin', but sometimes
you have to do what's in the best interest of the greater hobby. Best
wishes.

I am voting YES to this draw -- not because the game is
uninteresting, or the tactics, but because this is a playtest and much of the
diplomacy has stopped.
There are better pure wargames than diplomacy. This has
been a lot of fun and I would happily play in the next iteration of the
variant, which I think has a lot of promise.

DC-322 Draw Proposal (dc322) mikemorris Jul 31, 02:30 pm |
Guys -
I agree that the game has moved into a endgame tactics exercise and is now
devoid of diplomacy. However, let me humbly suggest that we acknowledge the
inevitable for the game ending proposal and declare The Scots the winner. I will
formally add that to the table, Andy.

You guys saw it here first. Add a Scots concession to the list of proposals. If both are unanimously passed, the more inclusive will be the final verdict.

Guys, I have both retreats, and will still publish Autumn as planned later this evening. The game's not over unless I get a unanimous yes vote on that DIAS Mike proposed. On that note, I've yet to hear from two players, so I'd like their votes by the winter deadline - I'll set one in tonight's adjudication.

Boeotia:
Remove A opus
Arcolia:

Laconia:

Messenia:

Messenia has not submitted any order for Winter.
As per my House rules the Messenian NBR/NDR results in the unit furthest removed from the Home SCs and not in an SC being disbanded.
Matt, as this is your 3rd NMR in a short timeframe are you still seriously interested in playing Pericles?
Spring 05 deadline is Tuesday Aug 3 at 7pm.

Oops! A small correction is necessary. I mis-entered the order for F Gulf of Lyon, which actually ordered support for F Western Med - Tyrrhenian Sea. Of course, Tyrrhenian Sea was supported by F Naples, so the outcome is just the same, but we strive for 100% accuracy here at Corrino Productions (tm)!
I've corrected the adjudication below, and attached an updated map.

Hey Stabbers,
Here we are beginning year 13 of our little contretemps. Will it be lucky 13 for one of our two witches? Let's see.
Again we have fighting from Kiel in the north to Tunis in the south. This time, however, it appears that one of our players actually made progress, as English forces managed to trap and destroy a Turkish army in Ruhr.
(For those of you with an interest in the mechanics of Stab!, please note that this is the first time that I've actually stated right out that a unit has been destroyed. Why is that? There have been multiple times in the past where a unit has been dislodged with no retreat. Well, the difference between then and now is that this time every single surrounding space is not only occupied, but
visible to all remaining players.)
Will this small victory turn out to be the difference-maker in our grand war? Tune in next week when the Fall moves are revealed.
RETREATS: None Required
NEXT DEADLINE: Fall 1913 is due Tuesday, August 3, at 8 pm Eastern US time. As usual, I can adjudicate early if I get final orders from both players.
Cheers,
Chris

(DC 326) Gumball - Winter 1906 Results - Corrino (Jul 30, 2010, 7:18 am) |
Hi Players,
Well, even with most of an extra day I still didn't receive retreats from the England, so I'll have to go to the DC House Rules to determine out his two disbands.
On a Winter turn an NMR (NBR/NDR) would mean that if the player was
building - the builds would be waived and if the player was disbanding,
units would be disbanded under the following rules Units furthest from the nearest home center before units closer to the nearest home centerUnits not in a supply center before units in a supply center if equidistant from homeFleets before armies if still no unique unit selected per aboveAlphabeticalRule 1 gives us our first disband of F Mid-Atlantic Ocean. All other units are equidistant from a home center.
Rule 2 - No help. All units are outside SC.
Rule 3 - No help. All units are fleets.
Rule 4 - Our choices are: North Atlantic Ocean, Wales, English Channel and Norwegian Sea. EC is first alphabetically and therefore the "winner."
So...
England:
Remove F Mid-Atlantic Ocean
Remove F English Channel
Germany:
Build A Berlin
Russia:
Build A Warsaw
NEXT DEADLINE: Spring 1907 is due Wednesday, August 4, at 8 pm
Eastern US time.
Cheers,
Chris
p.s. For those who may be wondering, a player is only charged with an official NMR if he misses a Spring or Fall turn.[Reply] |

I was always taught that you stab when your victim is
losing SCs. I will be down a max of one am now publicly stating that I will be
pulling all of my fleets off the Western front and won't be stopping until
Constantinople is mine. Dan, John, you got your wish guys - I'm onboard with
taking Austria down.

The silly boy. I offered to be his puppet and get him French dots and
perhaps the win, but he chose to smeagol down in Kie and Ber instead.
Some people won't take the gift horse even if you fill its mouth with gold.

Hi Everyone,
Please remember that your prelims are due in 21 hours. The game is
about to crank back up!
The final deadline for Fall 1938 orders is next Tuesday, August 3, at
5:00 PM ET. Please note I will be traveling next week with spotty
connectivity. I *will* adjudicate the Fall on Tuesday and the Winter
on Thursday per our schedule but expect to do so very late each night,
perhaps after midnight local time.
Good luck!
