Blitzers,

The Fall moves continue the general march towards the East, with Germany and Italy making progress. France's last centers are taken, and the war takes another victim. Thank you for sticking it out until the bitter end Bret. You do not need to submit any orders this turn, since they will not affect any other outcomes.

We are in need of many retreats this season. Remember that all builds/disbands can be made conditional on the retreats.

Russian A Galicia can retreat to Ukraine or OTB.
Russian A St Petersburg can retreat to Livonia or OTB.
Russian A Warsaw can retreat to Livonia, Ukraine or OTB.
French F Spain(nc) can retreat to Mid-Atlantic Ocean or OTB.

We also have a draw proposal on the table. Voting will remain open until the Spring turn (next Monday), but voting can start this turn. France is not eligible for voting - only the four remaining powers.

Standings and adjustments due:
France: Eliminated
Germany: 15 - Build  3
Italy: 12 - Build  3
Russia: 2 - Remove up to 3 units (depending on retreats)
Turkey: 5 - Build  0

dc311 f07 results! - FuzzyLogic   (May 14, 2010, 9:14 am)
Sorry guys, this one slipped me!

Bulgaria is the place to be this round as 8 units stand off over Bul, yet not a single unit moves in... In the west quite the opposite, England and Germany all over each other, and units shift all over the place - I think E draws the short straw tho, losing Holland to G.

France is eliminated!  Nick, it's been a pleasure!
Russia could survive... but only w an aggressive retreat!

F Tun is dislodged, but goes OTB since it can't gain a center by retreating.

Russia to retreat Ukraine
Germany is +1
Turkey is +1 (+0 if R rets to Sev)

Can I get those adjustments today by 3pm so that we can get back on track?
Thanks!
-mike

Good evening everyone,

Sorry about being a day late again, thanks though for the timely builds! I finally have a slow week, but my weekends are going to be insane from here on out, so I'm thinking Friday deadlines for spring/fall, and Tuesday for retreats or winter. Does that sound good? I know some of you also have busy weekends, so I want to make sure you have time. We'll see how everything works out though.

And if you have been checking the website for this game's details, I apologize for not posting these. Hopefully by tomorrow evening I will be all caught up. I just finished my exams last week which is probably why I have been forgetting deadlines and things, so we should be good now. That also means that I am going to be able to be more strict with deadlines, so keep that in mind. Here are the orders:

ADJUSTMENTS:
Russia:
Remove F St Petersburg(sc)

Turkey:
Build A Ankara
Build A Constantinople

DEADLINE:
The spring 1905 deadline will be set for ***Friday, May 14th, 9:00pm EST*** If you all get the orders into me before then that would be nice. Because if I am unable to adjudicate that night it might not be until the next Tuesday that I get it out. But we should be fine.

DC261 - GAME OVER! - Cool_Beans   (May 14, 2010, 2:18 am)
What a total coincidence that I checked my Diplomacy folder just now for the first time since I was knocked out of the game all those months ago!
Since the game only just finished, are the winners and survivors willing to circulate end of game statements to all the players? I'm still very interested in reading these.
I hope you're all well,
David

DC261 - GAME OVER! - aramis604   (May 13, 2010, 10:23 pm)
Well folks all the votes are in, and with a unanimous decision I declare:

Austria & Italy will share in a 2-way draw!

with
England, France, Germany have surviving their onslaught.

Congratulations to James and Benjamin on a well executed campaign!

Thank you all for a great game. It has been my pleasure to listen in and watch as the game progressed, and I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to have each and every one of you back in any of my future games.

DC261 - GAME OVER! (dc261) Cool_Beans May 14, 02:18 am
What a total coincidence that I checked my Diplomacy folder just now for the first time since I was knocked out of the game all those months ago!
Since the game only just finished, are the winners and survivors willing to circulate end of game statements to all the players? I'm still very interested in reading these.
I hope you're all well,
David

Guys,  We're ready to roll a day late, and for that I'm terribly sorry. I was waiting on a set of orders due to a player who thought we were waiting for Frank's return to civilization. From now on, folks, unless I announce an extension, the deadlines are hard dates. I'll do my best to send reminders 24 hours prior, but my failure to send one does not constitute an automatic deadline extension.

(DC 326) Gumball - Spring 1901 Results - Corrino   (May 13, 2010, 7:39 pm)
Hello Players,

Gumball Gunboat is off and rolling!  Some will be chewed up.  Some will be spat out.  And, with luck and skill, some fortunate one(s) of you will find yourself stuck to the bedpost of victory!

Highlights of the first turn include... um... well, not all that much happened.  F and G played nice.  A and I played nice.  R managed a couple of passive-aggressive bounces with his two southern neighbors.

I'd have to say the most interesting order in round 1 was the one for Austria's fleet in Trieste.  Hey, Admiral, can I loan you an atlas.  Hmmm?

As always, please check the orders and map for errors.

Cheers,
Chris

(DC 324) A Stab in the Dark - GM oversight - Corrino   (May 13, 2010, 6:52 pm)
Players,

I goofed.  I neglected to inform each player of their SC owned and adjustments due.  If you'll look back to your Autumn 01 report you'll see that information listed.  I should have done that this year, too.  I
just forgot.  Rookie GM error.

I expect that for most of you this made no difference but in a least one case there was almost a big mistake made.  I would feel awful if my negligence caused anyone harm, so I'm going to immediately send out the updates to each of you.

At this point in time, I have 6 sets of final orders and 1 set of prelims.  The deadline is still officially tomorrow night.  Anyone may change their orders in the next 24 hours.  If you would like to reaffirm your previous orders as final, that would be good, too.  I will adjudicate tonight if I get 7 "finals" back within a couple hours from now, but that seems rather unlikely.  I'd rather err on the side of caution.

Again, my apologies.  Thanks very much to the vigilant player who pointed out my oversight.

Chris

By the way, I would like to stress thanks to Frank for taking over the Germany position after it had been abandoned, and made it a force to be reckoned with.

Fall 1906 sees Germany and England exit the game, with England's fate determined in Spring this year, and Germany seeing France and Russia combine to take over his two remaining centres.  Italy NMRs but not two consecutive ones, so doesn't fall into civil disorder.

I've taken the liberty of processing Autumn 1906.  This involved disbanding the two German forces - both technically had a retreat, but with no centres, would have been disbanded in winter anyway.  For Italy, I've taken the liberty of retreating Naples to it's only valid retreat - Rome, and Western Mediterranean to Tyrennhian Sea.  Western Med can retreat to North Africa if needed, so if Italy wants to make that retreat, can they inform me with their winter adjustments.

Winter adjustments due tomorrow Friday 14th May, 2100GMT.

A French solo vote also fails.

I agree Simon, and I'll save my own comments for EOG.

By the way, I would like to stress thanks to Frank for taking over the Germany position after it had been abandoned, and made it a force to be reckoned with.

Belatedly, I'll still weigh in to thank Frank and Matt for the game. The gracious Pasha has already dispatched the gifts, so you should be receiving your mail-order brides shortly. I guess we'll just have to make do with the French papers from now on.

Cheers chaps, see you in the next game!

Guys,
thanks for the game. It was a nice chance to step in for Germany and try save it from its annihilation.Things initially looked promising but then events took a downturn. Can't say too much now without disclosing information prematurely but special thanks for Sean and Simon for making this a great game. And Matt for without him it would have been far less interesting.
And Michael, thanks for GMing.
Good luck for those who remain. I'll be watching this game to see who come out victorious.

Gentlemen,Do we see a case of early-leader syndrome, as Germany gets struck by a multi-power attack? Also, the news from the east is not good as the leaders for both Turkey and Russia forget to order their units around. The consequence: Italian and Austrian units are knocking on the door...

We are in need of a single retreat, but with only one option available I've auto-retreated the unit into the Black Sea. Jeffrey, if you'd rather retreat the unit OTB, let me know before Monday, 18:00 GMT.
