dc-316 spring 1906 results! - coryfucius (May 03, 2010, 5:15 pm) |
Lots of movement all around the board this turn! France marches back into Marseilles, as Italy convoys across to Spain. England sails into the English Channel. Germany foils Russia's attempt to take Kiel, but Russia sails into the undefended Denmark. Russia moves into the last Turkish center, while Italy backfills into Constantinople. Italy and Russia bounce in Budapest - is this a sign of future conflict after years of alliance?
A total of 3 units are dislodged:
The French fleet in the English Channel may retreat to Brest, MAO, Wales, or OTB.
The German army in Marseilles has no vaild retreat and is destroyed.
The Turkish army in Ankara may retreat to Armenia or OTB.
I can auto-retreat the Turkish army, as it has only one place to go. However, the French fleet has multiple retreat options, so we'll have a Summer 1906 retreat phase. Matthew, your Summer 1906 retreat order is due tomorrow, Tuesday 5/4 at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT. Also, Mikael, if you want to retreat your last unit OTB, please let me know by that same deadline. Thanks!
Cory

Crap - too short on time, too keeping it quick - I forgot to announce
that there is a DIAS proposal - votes are required, privately to GM,
with your next orders. Unanimous approval from all survivors required
to pass.

DC 312 End Game Proposal - untitled36 (May 03, 2010, 3:37 pm) |
Hey all,
I received a proposal for a RIT Draw. Please vote with fall orders. My understanding of the scoring is that, if approved, the points would be:
Turkey: 12.7 points
Russia: 12.7 points
Italy: 12.6 points
England: 4.7
Germany: 4.5 points
France: 4.2 points
Confirm it yourself, but I just thought I'd try to make it a bit easier for everyone. No vote received (including a total NMR) is a counted as a "no" vote.

Hey all
All draws fail.
Italy NMRed this round, which honestly seems to have had very little effect of the game, except for Italy's loss of serbia. Russia is blocked from convoying to Holland, and in the process loses the North sea. Still, he's within shouting distance of the solo. Will he be able to make it, or will F/I be able to put a halt to his plans?

Hey all,
England NMRs, and across the board little significant change takes place. France retreats to a defensive posture, and Italy gladly takes over the vacated spots. Russia moves Germany out of Livonia, thus strengthening his hold in that region.
Turkey saw the most movement, but almost all of his moves were attempts to get units to the front lines. It's gearing up to be an interesting fall season.
Lvn can only retreat to Pru, so I auto-adjucated it. See you guys thursday for fun-filled Fall festivities.

DC 298 Spring 1917 Adjucation - untitled36 (May 03, 2010, 9:04 am) |
Hey all
All draws fail.
Retreats:
Ser can retreat to Tri, Alb, or otb
Nth can retreat to yor, bel, hel, ska, nwy, or otb.
See ya tomorrow with those retreats!

Hey all,
England stirs from his slumber, and contributes to the sack of Munich. Will the alliance be able to stop the russian advance? This was a good turn for the alliance, but there's still a lot that could happen!
Two retreats needed: Russian A MUN can retreat to Boh or otb. Italian Army Sil can retreat to Boh, Pru, or otb.
Also, as an FYI, the english move means it's 4 more major seasons until an NMR is counted as a yes vote to end game proposals, though I'll still hold his vote "yes" to any dias as good (unless he has told or will tell me otherwise, of course!).
Thanks all, get those retreats in by tomorrow at 8:00 AM CST.

One thing I overlooked. Trieste has a retreat too. It can retreat to Bud or otb. And even though both russian armies only have one real retreat possible, I still need them submitted, since I only auto adjucate if *every* retreat only has one option. Italy has two. Just FYI in case you wondered why I did it that way.

DCI w15 builds - FuzzyLogic (May 03, 2010, 8:37 am) |
France retreats War to Sil, then we have 3 new armies. Moscow for Russia, and Smy/Con for Turkey.
NEXT: Spring 16 - Due Friday 5/7, 3pm Central!
Dont forget the DIAS vote.
(which would score a Draw for the 4 remaining players, and crown Jorge the DCI 2009 champ).
Voting is like always - Turn in orders AND votes. If the draw prop fails orders will be resolved. But if the draw passes, then orders are not revealed.
Enjoy,

(DC 324) A Stab in the Dark - Reminder & Point of... - Corrino (May 03, 2010, 7:06 am) |
Hi Players,
Hope your week-end was good. We topped 80 degrees F here in Boston yesterday and I spent it walking 20 miles for charity with my eldest daughter. I nice yearly tradition for us. The walk, not the warm temperatures. Typically it rains.
Reminder that orders are due by 8 pm tomorrow night (Tues), but... you don't really need the reminder because all seven of you have already submitted orders.
Standard practice is that I will always allow changes to orders up to the deadline time. However, if I were to receive seven sets of orders marked as "FINAL" -- and I had the time available, as I think I shall tonight -- then I would adjudicate early.
At this point in time I have one set marked as final. If you're happy with the orders you've sent in and want to tell me they're final, go ahead. Odds are I won't get six finals by tonight, but who knows?
In the future, you can either mark your orders as final every time OR if you like I will accept a standing order from you that any orders you submit may be considered final. Given the gunboat nature of the game I think this latter option makes sense.
Regards,
Chris

Gents
Over the weekend, I've received a request from a player that the Autumn retreats and adjustments are dealt with separately. I think this is a reasonable request, so I'll publish retreats by the original deadline of 2100 GMT today (about 12 hours away) and then ask for adjustments 24 hours after that.
In future, I'll highlight the option of conditional adjustments should I deem it appropriate, but for this turn, as I didn't announce that in advance, I'll separate out the two phases.
As a note, I haven't received notification of all retreats yet.

Fall 1905 sees England down to 1
centre and Germany down to 2, following continuing French
offensives in the west. Germany, England and Italy
seem to be having communication or translation issues, as
support orders fail in Munich and around Holland and the
North sea. Meanwhile, France sends a fleet into the Med, and
Turkey advances further against Italy.
There's two retreats needed, and as one has multiple
retreat options, I haven't auto retreated. However,
we'll run the Autumn retreats and the Winter adjustments
together to save some time, as I don't think either retreat
really affects adjustment decisions.
Deadline for Autumn/Winter is 2100GMT Tuesday 4 May (I'll
adjudicate before then if all orders received)
English F London can retreat to Yorkshire or disband.
German A Munich can retreat to Silesia or Bohemia or
disband.
Adjustments:
Austria: Supp 1 Unit 1
Build 0
England: Supp 1 Unit 2
Remove 1 (0 if London disbanded)
France: Supp 11 Unit 10 Build 1
Germany: Supp 2 Unit 3
Remove 1 (0 if Munich disbanded)

I tried to get Mike to put out the adjudication, but he still hasn't even though all the orders are in. No big deal I hope. You still have about 48 hours before the spring turn. We also say goodbye to our first player: Joe Payne. He held out as long as he could against the E/F onslaught and didn't just roll over and die. I salute you Joe.

Fall 1904 grace period - bobbarkerfan1 (May 02, 2010, 11:11 am) |
Hello everyone,
After a three day extension and me being unable to get to my computer until now, I was hoping that you all would have gotten orders in, but that is not the case. Wanting to stay consistent with the rules I set in place at the beginning of this game, I will give you all until 9:00pm TONIGHT to either send me orders if you haven't already, or send me any changes. Don't make me have to give you an NMR!
And thank you those of you who got orders in on time.

We also have an EOG proposal. This is for a 2-way draw between England and Germany. This will only pass with unanimous support. Please submit your votes with your orders. A missing vote is counted as a "no."
Spring 1907 will be due Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at 05:00GMT.
Cheers,
