Dc302 Fall 1904 adjudication - psychosis1973 (Apr 21, 2010, 3:49 am) |
Quick note to say England has chosen to disband in Norway. Winter adjustment deadline remains 2100GMT tomorrow, Thursday 22nd April (about 36 hours time). However, if I receive all adjustments before then I'll go ahead and adjudicate.

Very interesting developments in Fall
1904, with France sweeping into two German centres in
a
surprise attack. England continues to be under the
cosh, with Russia taking Norway off him with German
support.
Elsewhere, Italy's attempts to take out the last
Austrian
army are held off by Turkish support for the army.
One retreat needed, from England
English F Norway can retreat to Norwegian Sea or
Barents
Sea or disband
In order to move the game on quickly, I'm setting the
Autumn retreat deadline for 24 hours (at 2100GMT
Wednesday
21st), and the winter adjustments for 24 hours later
than
that at 2100GMT Thursday 22nd (in case England's
retreat
affect's anyone's adjustment decision). I'll
adjudicate both Autumn and Winter when I get in all
the
responses I need.
Adjustments needed will be as follows:
England: Remove 3 (or 2 if he chooses to
disband his norwegian fleet in Autumn)
France: Build 3
Germany: Remove 1
Russia: Build 1

Hello Dirk,
I never GMed before, and I haven't toyed with the alternative mapping tools to realpolitik files yet (due to my computer being unable to read realpolitik files, it comes up looking like computer giberish). |

It looks interesting. This was produced for real and available in stores? |

Supposedly yeah, tho I've never seen Colonial played face to face. It's been played 8 times here at dc...

Have you actually installed the Realpolitik software? It is fairly straight forward. You go to Resources -> Downloads, download the RP 1.7, unzip it, then run the installation / setup file.
Yeah if you just open a .dpy game file without having RP installed, it will just be sorta jibberish. It's a textual coding of everything that's happened in a game, that Realpolitik can interpret. |
Any GM interested in starting a Colonial Game (Open Games) Sean2010 Aug 25, 03:22 pm |
1). Yes, I've finally been able to download Realpolitik files, but I haven't been able to download files from diplomaticcorp yet.
2). Yes, Colonial had actually made rounds through the stores. I had gotten mine from "Hobby Town USA" before the store closed down, but this was before Hasbro had bought the rights from Avalon-Hill. |
Any GM interested in starting a Colonial Game (Open Games) garry.bledsoe Sep 03, 03:09 pm |
Not sure if you know or not but for a MAC you actually have to go and change the extension of the file when you download a .dpy file from the DC site. The Mac tries to do the "right-click" download as a .dpy.txt file and thus opens it with a document type of program. Rename the file without the .txt and you can open it in RP.
Hope that helps. |

DC302 - Germany on the brink of Civil Disorder - bielf11 (Apr 20, 2010, 4:17 pm) |
While the majority of the German leaders were still celebrating that Germany had arisen like a phoenix from the ashes after its recent change of leadership, the German people were more and more overcome with concerns that the French ally would turn against them. Sooner rather than later; as the general belief was that Germany had served its purpose against the English and the Russians. More so since the French diplomats continued to insist on an imminent attack on Italy while there had been no intel from the south to confirm even the slightest movement of French troops in that direction.
A last minute attempt to join forces against the French by English diplomats had failed; they had been received with all regards by the German leaders but hadn't been able to convince.
And now, there is no longer any doubt that the German Eagle has caught fire and is going down.
A once so proud nation that had been looking towards a prosperous future alongside the French is now on the brink of civil disorder.Fall 1904 will be remembered in history as The French Betrayal.[Reply] |

dc-316 spring and summer 1904 results - coryfucius (Apr 20, 2010, 3:59 pm) |
Once again, France NMRs - and England appears to be the beneficiary.
On the northern front, England guesses correctly and convoys to Holland. Germany reoccupies Sweden, but Russia moves to the undefended St. Pete. In the southeast, Italy and Turkey bounce in Albania, as Italy sails to the Eastern Med and Russia moves to the Black Sea.
There is one unit dislodged, but it has only one valid retreat, so I'll take the liberty of ordering the summer retreat of Russia's F Sweden - Skagerrak. Marc, if you would prefer to retreat OTB, please let me know within 24 hours.
The fall 1904 orders will be due on the normal Blitz schedule, Thursday 4/22 at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT. As always, prelims are strongly encouraged!

Dc302 Fall 1904 adjudication (dc302) psychosis1973 Apr 21, 03:49 am |

Thanks
Michael

DC301 - TTP - SPRING 1903 CORRECTED MAP - Douglas_E_Fresh (Apr 20, 2010, 1:25 pm) |
Dear Players,
Attached is an updated map with the corrected result in the Gulf of Lyon. The Fleet of the Mediteranean People's Front has been sunk successfully by the Frankish Fleet sailing from Tuscany. I'm sorry I messed this up before.
I still need the retreat order from Frankish Fleet MAO - due on Thursday 12noon GMT, but I shall post the Summer 1903 map as soon as I receive a final order from Michael.
Thanks for your patience.

DC313: Spring 1904 Adjudication - Samnuva (Apr 20, 2010, 9:03 am) |
One thing after another with me and deadlines. Last week I was stuck in the woods, this week I was stuck in the hospital. Austria retakes Treiste, but looses Budapest in the process, while Warsaw is reclaimed by the russians. Over to the west, France continues to NMR, loosing two more SCs. Russia also manages to land a nice foothold in the north sea. We have three retreats, two of which I'm auto-resolving. I do need England's F Nth, however. Retreats are due when they always are.

Sorry players,
I believe the adjudication issue I highlighted in the write up was done wrongly. I am fairly sure - although I am seeking clarification; that the MPC Fleet in Lyon is sunk by the Frankish F Tus.
Big apologies for the inconvenience. I shall confirm asap. The retreat deadline is given another 24 hours as I am working and probably won't get to the bottom of this for another few hours.[Reply] |

Dear Players,
A crazy turn to adjudicate - particularly in the South Western corner of the map. I was unsure whether or not F Lyo was dislodged, but I ran the scenario through Realpolitik and I think ultimately it is F Tys - Lyo which prevents F Tus from gaining Lyo itself.
The Russian Army has been destroyed by the Yugoslav advance, but the Frankish Fleet in MAO may retreat to Por, Gas, Bre, Iri, NAf or OTB.
Michael, if you could let me know in the next 24 hours I'd be most grateful - default retreat will be to (Home Centre) Portugal
Our deadline for Fall 1903 is next Tues. 27th April at 12noon GMT.
