Everybody owes me orders tomorrow! It's been a busy year what with all those little dots changing hands. Investors in France, Russia, and Turkey collect dividends. Investors in England, Germany, and Italy are planning their tax write-offs. What to build? What to disband? It is a confusing time. But, since tomorrow is Mr. Lincoln's birthday, perhaps you will gain some clarity if you ask "What would Honest Abe do?"
Retreats for tomorrow:
German Army in Kiel retreats to Ruhr
German Army in Warsaw may retreat to Livonia, Ukraine, or off the board
Adjustments for tomorrow:

FYI all I will be traveling in South America all of next week. I expect to have reliable internet access from the hotels so should be no problem with submitting moves on time, negotiating, etc, but there may be some time delay of response. I will make sure to use prelims, etc, but please understand if I am slower than normal in replying.
Thanks,

So apparently this is my week to fail as a gm. I failed to mention Italy's F Ion can also retreat to tys, tun, alb, eas, or otb. This also means Italy only gains one build, unless he retreats off the board. Of course, you can all make conditional builds/disbands based on Alan's choice of what to do with Ion.

.ExternalClass .ecxhmmessage P {padding:0px;} .ExternalClass body.ecxhmmessage {font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;} Hey all,
This is looking to be a pretty long game. You all seem to be keeping the balance of power relatively equal. It's quite interesting to watch. And remember, even though round 2 starts March 22nd, round one keeps going until completion. I seriously doubt this one will wrap up by march 22nd, the way things are going, so I just wanted to inform you all of that. It just means you'll be doing both WB games at once.
Moves-wise, Germany's units provide moral support for one another, England enters the channel, and Austria nabs sevastapol. Those are the highlights, but the full set is below! Also, we had one retreat (A sev) who can only retreat to Armenia, so I took the liberty. If you'd prefer off the board, let me know. For everyone, builds are due tomorrow at 9:00 AM CST (15:00 GMT). Remember that you can make them conditional based on turkey's retreat (though I don't see that retreat really affecting anyone's builds).
Thanks all!

DC 298 Fall 05 Adjucation (Winter Blitz) untitled36 Feb 11, 09:30 am |

Thanks all!
John

DC290: Spotty Internet - Rocketship (Feb 10, 2010, 7:22 pm) |
Hey guys,
I'm moving this weekend, and the telephone company mistakenly to disconnected my internet early. So I only have access at work, and probably not much at all on Friday.
I don't think it's necessary to extend the deadline. I just wanted to let you guys know why I'll be a bit slower to reply.

Hey everybody. Hope you are all ready to go because this thing is under way! I was able to get everyone one of their top choices, so this should be a good game for everybody. And thank you for the input regarding deadlines. I will make sure to not have Monday deadlines, and in April, I will make all the deadlines between Tuesday and Thursday. For those of you anticipating to be absent for extended periods of time, let me know about a week in advance when you would like the deadlines "to be or not to be." With all of that being said, I wish you all the best of luck and hope this game turns out great!
DEADLINE:
The spring 1901 deadline will be ***Saturday, February 13th, 9:00pm EST*** I will make every deadline 9:00pm EST as to remain consistant with this game and my other game. If this is a problem for anyone let me know. I advise you, if you live in a different time zone, to find out when this is for you or to ask me so you know exactly when you need orders in by. I am almost always on time sending out adjudications, so if you think you will need extra time, let me know BEFORE the deadline and I'll extend it as need be.

DC 285: Deadline update - blueraider0 at gmail.com (Feb 10, 2010, 7:54 am) |
So, I never sent out a deadline with the last adjud. According to my own head, that would be today at 5. However, some people seem to think it is tomorrow. In addition, I got tied up last night and forgot to send out a deadline warning and the NMR warning. So the deadline will be TOMORROW at 5 PM EST. So that's about 32 hours from now. Consider this your deadline warning. If I have recieved NO orders from you by 5 PM EST tonight, I'll send a reminder.
Sorry about the confusion.....
-Maslow

"It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. and sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing. The shadow, even the darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you - That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding onto something."

Taking The Peace [The Tale of Three Emperors] - michaelfaraday at live... (Feb 09, 2010, 7:45 pm) |
[u:c7db69152b]The Tale of Three Emperors[/u:c7db69152b]
A cautionary tale.
Three emp'rors did stumble upon,
One Day on lovely Black Sea shore,
A gorgeous coastline rich in land
So each their sep'rate hats did don,
And stepped o'er rock and soil and sand
With the lofty Goal to colonize
The lands they thought were worth far more!
Seeing rivals on either side,
One Day on lovely Black Sea shore,
The emp'rors each proffered a hand
To his neighbour, though each had lied
In the past of expanding land.
For each could only hope and bided
Time, in which none of these was poor.
But Three is e'er an ill Amount,
One Day on lovely Black Sea shore,
So each looked at the others' land,
Decided after a quick Count:
Both of their neighbours must be canned!
Since "emp'ror" by its simple Sounding
Demands sat'lites about its core.
So while each proffered a wild grin,
One Day on lovely Black Sea shore,
Each offered Peace and Joy to kin,
While each prepared to start their Sin
And end a life, (What might have been
Tragedy to emp'rors, this kindling!)
Each neglected Aft looking Fore.
For as three emp'rors glared at friend,
One Day on lovely Black Sea shore,
Those other Kings and Coasts arise
And other lands to their Will bend
'Til the last other free land died:
Their situation now past Mending,
Three emp'rors pass away to Lore!
Sincerely,
-K.T.

Thanks,
