dc298 WB 2010 Gamestart! - AlanRFarrington (Jan 14, 2010, 2:01 pm) |
So at this point I think we can all agree that it'd just be best to cut our losses and hope for a better game in the second round. All in favor of a 7 way DIAS?

dc263 ~ Babylon 5 - Tom.Hopkins at ainc-in... (Jan 14, 2010, 9:20 am) |
Good day all
It seems I am much more of a traditionalist that I thought. I had major difficulties wrapping my head around this game and its map. Additionally, I have used jDip to adjudicate my games so long that switching to RealWorld seemed like a trip to the dentist. The only real problem, in my less than humble opinion, is the lack of real purpose for armies. I am not sure how the game could be altered to reasonably employ two types of units - maybe an unwritten rule that fleets:armies ratio must be maintained to meet some arbitrary level, but, in retrospect, no one would like being told what to build and it would make builds predictable, though not any less predictable than they were (unnnh, maybe I will build another fleet this season...)
I apologize to everyone for my rather low level of press in this game - normally I am much more on top of things but I ran into a few health issues that took me away from many things that weren't essential.
Thanks to our GM for keeping things running smoothly.
Good luck to all in future games!
Cheers,
Tom

P.S.
Thanks for the game everyone. I found everyone in this game great to play
with and hope to see you in future games. The map was different I guess,
with the theme leading to some great diplomatic dialogue. There were a lot
of supply centres though and I think that this made it easy to create
stalemate lines that ultimately shut down the game so that nobody could
progress.

Hey guys... I'm waiting on one final set of orders. I hope I receive them before I head to bed tonight so that I can get the adjudication out. Just a heads up for the rest of the game, though... I'm going to be very hesitant to NMR orders because this is meant to be a test for the map, and units not moving doesn't test it very well. So I'm going to be very annoying if you don't get orders in, and I will hope that will be enough to keep the game moving at a good pace.

Turkey Survives Another Year!Russia Turns on Austria and Makes Gains Everywhere It Seems.
Germany Has Losses But Offsets Them By Finally Taking A Center in Anarchy
Italy Does Manage to Take a Former Italian Anarchy Center to Ease Some of the Pain
All,
I apologize for the delay. Ian did get his orders to me Sunday or Monday but this has been a tough week. As a side note, I thought that I found them while he was gone (in the wrong folder...not sure how that happened since I looked high and low for them initially) but I wanted to verify that they were the correct ones. What he forwarded me matched what I had found so all is copacetic.
Well, that is except for the action! What action! What suspense! What fun! Definitely an interesting turn of events and certainly so given the way we seemed to be going for a bit. 4 players who HAVEN'T gone into anarchy and all still alive!
We have some action for the Winter:
Russia Builds 4
Germany Removes 1
Austria Builds 1
France Removes 1
Italy Removes 1
If there is any question about how removes are done for Anarchy countries, please consult my house rules or the DC House Rules (they will help give insight into what the GM will remove for France and Italy).
Let's set the Winter deadline for Friday the 15th at 6pm CST.

DC 298 Reminder - untitled36 (Jan 12, 2010, 10:10 am) |
Hey all,
I know the fall deadline is about 45 hours away, but remember that you only have 24ish hours between Fall adjucation and the winter deadline, so conditional builds may be a good idea just in case the unexpected happens.
Also, Friday we are getting a different internet provider at home, so as they are setting that up I may be a bit delayed getting out the winter adjucation. It will still happen on friday, just maybe not right at 10:00 CST.
And the Blitz moderators are threatening me to remind everyone once again to CC orders-at-diplomaticcorp.com (orders-at-diplomaticcorp.com) when you send in the moves. You won't regret it!

I still don't have a complete set of moves in, and the deadline is less than 17 hours away. I've sent confirmations to everyone who's sent in moves, so if you don't have a confirmation, send those moves again! No more NMR's this game, okay?

DC292: Spring 01 Adjudication - Samnuva (Jan 11, 2010, 7:08 pm) |
Spring is here!
Now that I actually have time, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Sam
Buck, in case you didn't realize it from the revealing email address.
I'm a high school student from New York City, who's been playing
diplomacy for a little over a year and a half. I GM'd for the Winter
Blitz last year, and I'm back again for more fun. I generally try to
be as lenient as possible, but we're in a somewhat sticky situation
for this round. I'm currently working on a major theater production,
and our schedule is going to be finicky. I should be home by 7 and
able to spit out the adjudication by 7:30, but there is always the
possibility we'll run late. If it's really bad, I'll get someone to
cover the adjudication, but that's basically the situation I'm in, so
If I'm late, I'm sorry. Now, onto the game. Spring's done, and for the
most part, everybody's orders succeeded. We did have bounces in the
Black Sea and Gal, however, so it's not all peaceful. Without further
ado, then I give you:
Austria:
A Budapest - Serbia
F Trieste - Albania
A Vienna - Galicia
England:
F Edinburgh - Norwegian Sea
A Liverpool - Yorkshire
F London - North Sea
France:
F Brest - Mid-Atlantic Ocean
A Marseilles - Spain
A Paris - Picardy
Germany:
A Berlin - Kiel

A Munich - Ruhr
Italy:

Russia:
A Moscow - Ukraine
F Sevastopol - Black Sea
F St Petersburg(sc) - Gulf of Bothnia
A Warsaw - Galicia
Turkey:
F Ankara - Black Sea
A Constantinople - Bulgaria
A Smyrna - Constantinople
That should be it. If there are any problems, give me a shout, but
otherwise, I'll see you on Thursday at 7:00 PM ET.
-Your GM
