DC271 Cimarra - W04 Results - No Peace - garry.bledsoe (Dec 08, 2009, 12:50 pm) |
All,Turned out to be a very slight delay indeed (thanks Ian!).
Our EGP was voted down so we proceed to Spring 1905. Russia builds a shiny new F in StP(nc) and we are set to go.
Spring's deadline will be this coming Sunday at 6pm CST (I felt good about a shorter deadline because I already have some orders AND we had a little bit of time waiting for Winter that you guys could already be talking).

All,
Sorry for the delay. We were missing a set but they fortunately came in so we can move along.
We have no retreats and only 1 build (Russia). We also have a 2-way R/A EGP. This would ensure survival for Germany and Turkey if it passes but it takes 4 yes votes.
Please vote on this with our Winter deadline which is Monday the 7th at 6pm CST. Ian also needs to submit a build with that deadline.

I am becoming very disappointed in this game. I know life happens, but life is also happenING NOW! Is there anyway to get this game moving again? Or should we all just pack it in?
Anthony.

I fully understand the frustration. Unfortunately, my computer has not been up and running for a while now and all the communication I've been able to do is from a different computer. To tell the truth, I've been disappointed in how this game has gone as well, but it is what it is. There's no willingness on my part to throw in the towel. That wouldn't do the game justice. I'm committed to finishing the game, it just a matter of getting access to my computer so I can make the maps. I'll try to give more frequent updates from here on in.

Hm, we Germans got seeded on a rather tough part of that ball. Ghana, Serbia and Australia all adjacent, so to speak.
That being said, some high SC density round that Group H sector: Portugal, Ivory Coast, Brazil... oh my... Triangle of Death.
Can't wait for the greatest sports event around! I'm looking forward to all the public viewing events here in Berlin. 2006 was just too much fun!

Is anyone having a hard time seeing the GIF I sent out with the last adjudication? One of our number reports problems, and I can't quite figure out why. Remember, if you've got any revisions to your orders, get them in before tomorrow evening's deadline.

DC-272 Map Question - garry.bledsoe (Dec 07, 2009, 4:30 pm) |
I had issues reading the name tags for each province but not seeing the actual units. That has been an issue on the last several maps. All I did was go back to the original gamestart map you sent that had a good resolution so I could see the name tags for each province.
It is something to do with the resolution or font on the tags I think.

1648 091010: A new Emperor! - charlesf (Dec 07, 2009, 3:41 pm) |
The Emperor is dead, long live the new Emperor!
It clearly took the Electors a while to agree on who ought to be the new Holy Roman Emperor, yet I'm now most happy to announce to the world the end of this interregnum. Mike Hoffman kindly stepped in to rule the foresaken realm.
You'll find the contact information further below. Note that the winter deadline's Friday. So plenty of time to discuss matters.
Liebe Grüsse,
Charles

DC 281 Spring 1902 moves - psychosis1973 (Dec 07, 2009, 3:12 pm) |
Conflict continues across Europe, with another set of strange moves - France and England continue their dance around their borders, with lots of bounces resulting. Germany edges forces west, whilst in the south, Italy tries to take Trieste and the Ionian but is rebuffed by Austria. The only power who seems to have done well out of the Spring 1902 moves is Turkey, who takes two vacant Balkan provinces in Rumania and Serbia.
Amazingly, no retreats in the game as yet, so we move straight on to Fall 1901. Folk indicated they'd like a fairly fast moving game, so let's see if we can get another turn in by the end of the week, with a deadline of Friday 11th December at 2100GMT.
No one's shouted to object to deadlines over the holiday period, so I'll keep the game running through the end of December, but avoiding the weekend of the 25th - 28th.

dc278 - Spring 1904 Results - z93blom (Dec 07, 2009, 2:33 pm) |
Stabbers,
As we move into 1904 the three greater powers are focusing on one minor power each to bully around. Austria surrounds all of the southern centers of Russia, France moves in on the Italian peninsula and England strikes out at the heartland of Germany, scattering the Army stationed in Kiel.
There are two retreats needed, but since there was only one province available for the retreat each, I've gone ahead and retreated the units. Tony and Jeff, if you'd rather retreat off the board, please let me know by 19:00 GMT Wednesday, otherwise the retreats will stand as adjudicated.
Any mistakes that I've made should be brought to my attention as soon as possible. Also, please let me know if you plan on being away or if you want an extended deadline, which I'll be happy to grant if need be.
We'll make the next turn due in a week, which should give you plenty of time to conspire amongst yourself.

Cyning Niklaeswulf was away on a secret mission to discover a
southwest passage to reach the Danish backlines. While this effort
was unsuccessful, he did stumble across a set of uninhabited islands
that he named the Falklands. Niklaeswulf planted the Anglo-Saxon flag
there, and pledged on his honor that these islands will eternally
remain under Anglo-Saxon control.

Back to the game - The Anglo-Saxons make a critical breakthrough (with

defenses on the continent by sending another army south to Saxony.
The Anglo-Saxon buffer between the Gaelic Welsh holdings and the
Scottish empire remains intact, and all three residents of the islands

DC 262: Angstskrik - Spring 832 Adjudication (dc262) Kenshi777 Dec 10, 06:15 pm |
Honored Kings of the Dark Ages:
The bitter cold of fall is here (winter here in Dallas, I'm freezing
my tail off lately), as we bid a sad farewell to our Norse player,
Scott. The remaining Norse centers have been captured, without
available retreat to open SCs. Scott - thanks for playing, please do
submit an EOG statement, your thoughts on the game are most welcome.
The Danes claimed the greatest share of the Norse dots, and advanced
at sea to surround the critical North Sea position on all fronts. On
the opposite side, defenders set sail under three flags to defend the
Scottish claim to the high seas. The Anglo-Saxons lay claim to
Mercia, but the Scots end the season even with the capture of Zetland.
The only retreat that isn't forcibly disbanded is Norse F Trondelag,
which has no open SCs, and must disband in the winter, so we will
proceed straight away to the Winter Adjustments, due Monday, December
14th, 1700 EST.
We also have a 4-way draw proposal this season (a DIAS). Please
submit your votes, along with your winter adjustments. (send a vote
even if you don't have a winter adjustment please!)
No retreats needed, so we move straight to the next deadline for
Fall 832, which will be Thursday, December 10th at 1700 EST.

A R/A 2-way Draw is Proposed!
All,
Sorry for the delay.

I believe there is even a nicer Youngstown map out there than the dipwiki one... see the final map for dc154. Sure it will get played! A GM just needs to open it up on the Open Games page. Anyone want to run one?[Reply] |

Hey guys,
Two errors on the last adjudication were pointed out to me soon after I sent them. First, I failed to use the most recent set of Danish orders, so the adjudication and map have been corrected to account for these. The net result is different locations of a few Danish units and the disbanding of the Russian fleet in Archangel. Second, another end-game proposal, for a Danish solo, was put forth, so please include your votes for this with your orders for Winter 2014, which will now be due this coming Thursday, December 10, at 9 pm eastern.
