DC 281 fall 1901 deadline - psychosis1973   (Nov 27, 2009, 1:12 am)
Update on the game...the missing orders turned up (stupid oversight on my part), and I'll be adjudicating in about 3 or 4 hours. All moves are now final.

And the Spring 1901 moves are
in...many thanks to all for getting moves in on time, and
for getting us the first season in successfully

And a very interesting set of
moves it is too, with a mix of orthodox and unorthodox
openings...in the West, France seems to be attacking
everyone, but finds himself bounced in Burgundy, whilst
England commits to the north, and Germany opens fairly
neutrally.

In the East, Austria annexes
Galicia, but finds two Italian forces knocking on the door
in Trieste. Russia sends an army north, and a bounce
in the Black Sea suggests Russia and Turkey haven't
resolved their differences

Attached are the RealPolitick file
for the game, and files detailing the Spring moves and
resolution of the moves. The game page on the DC
website has also been updated.

The Dwarves retreat to Pwyll

We'll set the deadline for Winter 09 adjustments for Tuesday, December 1st (11:59 PM GMT).  Full results of the Autumn and the map will be put out later this evening.

Cheers!

I'm ok, except I'd like to
point out that Thursday is Thanksgiving, at least
for us Americans. Might I suggest an extension
until Thursday morning/noontime? That gives a bonus
day but doesn't put us Yanks at any
disadvantage against any last minute squabbling
by you slimy Brits/Canadians/etc. It also means,
after a wonderful day of family, we'll all come home to
the grim realities of a cruel, heartless, backstabbing and
lying world. How wonderful!

281 Spring 1901

We move straight on to Fall 1901,
for which the deadline is Tuesday 24th November,
2100GMT

DC-272 Winter 1458 Adjudication - TheWhiteWolf   (Nov 25, 2009, 8:10 pm)
Guys,
I'm so sorry that I keep falling behind on the adjudications. Life seems to have found more books, and my head is still the target. Once I get done with my move this weekend, I expect things to calm down a bit.

1648 091010: Fall 1651 Moves - CORRECTION - charlesf   (Nov 25, 2009, 6:39 pm)
Guys,

I'm afraid I misclicked while doing the adjucation. Poland did NOT order "A Crimea - Moldavia" as the written orders summary would indicate. I spotted my snafu and corrected the .dpy file and map image accordingly, yet forgot to correct the written orders. I apologise for my absentmindedness and corrected this further below.

I'm afraid I also forgot to remind you that any Keppler predictions can be altered right up to the winter adjucation publication.

Well, I hope that covers it.

Happy Thanksgiving to those on the yonder side of the pond!

Charles

Grüß Gott!

the entire former Danish sphere of influence has now witnessed major changes. The two Northern crowns are now at loggerheads, while the Commonwealth has gained a foothold on the continent. Farther in the East, the Swedens and Poles are engaging in manoeuvre warfare.

French troops now control the entire Po valley, whereas the Sultan finally took the fortress-island of Malta.

Retreats/Adjustments are due on Friday. Denmark's retreat may affect adjustments, so take not that you can condition any of your adjustments on what the Danish army does.

Liebe Grüsse,

Charles

Sorry folks, I've let you down again. Considering that's the second time, this should probably be permanent. Suffice to say I've been having some issues with my sight over the last couple of months that have had me worried, but I should really have said earlier. It's been great fun playing with you all on an interesting map and I hope that you get a more reliable replacement. Hopefully I'll get all this sorted out soon, and then I might be able to play in another game with some of you. Wink

Hey everyone,

Our Britain, (Andrew Tanner) has come into some tough times with internet access and the like. As a result Jack McHugh has offered to step up and lead the Island nation for the rest of the game. Since Jack won't need any orders in until the Spring deadline so this transition will be very smooth. I suggest you all get in touch with him as soon as possible.

DC 262: Angstskrik - Winter 831 Early Adjudication - Kenshi777   (Nov 24, 2009, 10:23 am)
Honored Kings of the Dark Ages:

Thanks for your timely confirmation of the early deadline, I hope you
all enjoy the extra time for the Spring season. The winter season
sees the Norse adopt a full naval defense (or perhaps a new offense?)
The Anglo-Saxons build a new fleet in East Anglia, and the Danes bring
a mix of forces into serivce.

No retreats needed, so we move straight to the next deadline for
Spring 832, which will be Monday, November 30th for the
US Thanksgiving Day holiday. Barring any objections, we'll stick to
Monday for Fall as well, and resume our regular schedule on Thursday
with the next winter season.

DC 262 Player List:

Nick Higgins - Cyning of the Angles and Saxons (Anglo-Saxons)

Good morning diplomats,

The Italian Fleet did not retreat to the Ionian as I previously suggested - it retreated to North Africa instead.

Next turn: Fall 1903 Movement
Next Deadline: Monday, 30th of November, 19:00 GMT (7PM).

Some orders for the next turn have already been turned in. Keep the preliminaries coming, and have a happy Thanksgiving. Be kinder to your family members than you are to your fellow diplomats.

Because I forgot to send out a reminder yesterday and the fact that it's been Thanksgiving and that some of you have been out of touch, I've decided to move the deadline for this turn by 24 hours. You now have approximately 29 hours before the moves are due.

Next turn: Fall 1903 Movement
Next Deadline: Tuesday, 1st of December, 19:00 GMT (7PM).

I'm ok, except I'd like to point out that Thursday is Thanksgiving, at least for us Americans. Might I suggest an extension until Thursday morning/noontime? That gives a bonus day but doesn't put us Yanks at any disadvantage against any last minute squabbling by you slimy Brits/Canadians/etc. It also means, after a wonderful day of family, we'll all come home to the grim realities of a cruel, heartless, backstabbing and lying world. How wonderful!

Subject: DC 281 Spring 1901

And the Spring 1901 moves are in...many thanks to all for getting moves in on time, and for getting us the first season in successfully

And a very interesting set of moves it is too, with a mix of orthodox and unorthodox openings...in the West, France seems to be attacking everyone, but finds himself bounced in Burgundy, whilst England commits to the north, and Germany opens fairly neutrally.

In the East, Austria annexes Galicia, but finds two Italian forces knocking on the door in Trieste. Russia sends an army north, and a bounce in the Black Sea suggests Russia and Turkey haven't resolved their differences

Attached are the RealPolitick file for the game, and files detailing the Spring moves and resolution of the moves. The game page on the DC website has also been updated.

We move straight on to Fall 1901, for which the deadline is Tuesday 24th November, 2100GMT

"It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. and sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing. The shadow, even the darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you - That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding onto something."

We've entered a grace period for two players. They each have 19 hours (from now) to get their orders into me or else receive an NMR. Only one grace period will be given to each player per game.

$10 Wifi is outrageous.  We should stand in solidarity against such atrocities.  (Thursday is fine).
