DC 483, Fall 1906 - alwayshunted (Feb 27, 2014, 9:26 pm) |
Okay, here we go.
One retreat needed from Germany for tomorrow along with the adjustments. I'm going to ask you to figure out your own adjustments so I can get this out to you immediately..... the retreat will not affect them. Remember you can make your builds/disbands conditional on the retreat.
Autumn and Winter due tomorrow, I'll make it a bit late if necessary, but try for 18:00 my time.
German A Rome can retreat to Tuscany or Apulia or OTB.
Check everything, maps attached.

DC Hundred - Summer 1428 - Zoterik (Feb 25, 2014, 1:15 pm) |
England retreats Orleanais - Poitou, and what may be our penultimate turn comes to its close with me on the edge of my seat. I don't know about you three; no doubt both England and France have some nerves to deal with, while Burgundy hopes for a survival. Let's see what happens, shall we? Fall deadline is 28 February. [Reply] |
DC464 - Fall 1909 - Zoterik (Feb 25, 2014, 12:23 pm) |
Play on! The draw proposal fails again, and we will proceed on our merry way into a future of blood and tears. What might have appeared to be a united anti-German pact has rapidly and suddenly become a sneak attack by Austria against Turkey. The Sultan may well find himself out of the money, so to speak, unless he can pull off a stalwart defense and reenlist German assistance against Austria, but at what cost? Germany itself has taken Liverpool, but lost the North Sea to France. Who benefits most from the exchange of SC for tactical position will be determined in the years to come.
Three units are dislodged, and two need an order on where to go. Autumn and Winter can happen simultaneously again, but the deadline for the former is 27 February, and for the latter is 28 February.

DC 463, Winter 1906 for Mike, and... GAME ON. - alwayshunted (Feb 24, 2014, 7:26 pm) |
Okay group, here's the deal. There has been a draw officially proposed in this game, a four way actually, although no-one has actually stated the four countries?? Or did I miss that? Regardless, I could figure it out, but that's not my job.
As of now the game carries on, however since there has been a draw proposed please vote on that with your SPRING 1907 orders. I'm guessing that Italy is the one not included? Let's make those due in one week, on Monday March 3rd, at 18:00 MST. I'd make it quicker but I'm actually in the "field" for work from Thursday onward, so Monday works well for me too.
Does this work for everyone? Let me know if you have any issues with it.

Hi gang,
I wasn't very good at acknowledging orders this time, fortunately I got some from everyone.
Both of the dislodged units were also disbanded (Constantinople and Spain) so we move directly to Fall 1906, due on Thursday at 18:00 Mountain Standard Time.
Check my work, maps attached. Have fun.

My work won't even allow me to go to DC.

Hi gang,
So, some developments. Archer has had to drop out, but considering the circumstances I am going to seek a replacement player. There has been a draw, sort of proposed, but not officially if you will. If I get five e-mails from five players, including Archer at this point, to end the game with a four way draw, then that is what will happen. Otherwise the game goes on.
The game is currently on hold until a replacement is found. I'll put out the call to the Light Brigade.

Deadline is close! DC478 Anselm's Ontology, Spring... - Cartesian (Feb 24, 2014, 11:21 am) |
Note to all players: please be very careful about ambiguous abbreviations.
Please take another look at the Small Print below.
J
Small Print
I am very much of the persuasion that deadlines are deadlines. Don't be late!
I may (but will not necessarily) remind you of the deadline. I will acknowledge orders received. Latecomers stand a big risk of NMRing, so why not send preliminary (v1) orders now, in case real life intervenes in the meantime? Please put the Game Number, Game Name, Power, Season and order version in the Subject of a new email - don’t just reply to mine, or your orders may be missed. If you send v1 orders I will use them if you send no others (I will always use the last orders you send), so no need to reconfirm if you don’t change them.
The deadlines are set so that I have a good chance to adjudicate without delay. If there is to be a delay I will let you know.
Finally, be careful about the format of your orders:
1. I am often running more than one game at once (and playing a few too) and in a typical week will be receiving around 40 Dip emails, sometimes with order updates from players who like to submit preliminaries or who just change their minds. Please make sure that you put the game number (DC47, the current season and the name of your Power in the subject line. Give each version of your orders a number so that I can ignore things that have been updated. e.g. DC478 Germany Fall 1901 v1.
2. Try to give me your orders in the format that the adjudication comes out in. It is easier for me to process if you state A Rum-Ser or A Rum-->Ser rather than "Rumania attacks Serbia", or "Rum moves to ser". Neither way is right or wrong, but it helps if you operate on my wavelength.
3. If you order support then you MUST state the location of the unit being supported and where it is being supported to. Thus "A Fin S FNTH-Nw"y is fine, as is "AFin supports FNTH-Norway", etc. I will not accept "A Fin S English attack on Nwy" even if there is only one English unit that could get to Nwy.
4. If you order a convoy you must order the unit being convoyed AND the convoying fleet(s). Thus A Wal-Bre, F ENG c A Wal-Bre is correct. F ENG c A Wal-Bre will not be accepted as A Wal has not received an order.
5. Do not use ambiguous abbreviations e.g. "Liv" could mean Liverpool (Lpl) or Livonia (Lvn). "Nor" could mean Norway (Nwy), Norwegian Sea (NWG), North Atlantic Ocean (NAO) or North Sea (NTH). Some players ( I am one of these) prefer the convention of using capitals for sea areas to aid recognition e.g. GOL, MAO, NTH are seas but Gre, Mar and Nwy are provinces. Feel free to use full names if you prefer (but then make sure you don't mix them up!).

I am sorry I cannot produce a map as I am travelling. I hope you can work with what you already have. The map on the website and in the previous email shows current position without builds. I am sure you can all employ visualisation skills!
Sorry for the lack of a smooth service this time. I thought you would all rather not have the game held over, so have rushed this out.

Also there are two draw proposals you may vote on...
5-way KAGLE
3-way KLE
Vote yay/nay with your Friday orders. Either one would require 6 yes-votes to pass. If for some reason both pass, the one with more players in it takes precedence.
Enjoy!
