Dear All
Just a reminder that the deadline for Spring 1903 is 22:00 GMT tomorrow. If you think you have sent orders and I haven’t acknowledged, it means I didn’t get them.
Best wishes

DC 254, Fall delay - alwayshunted   (May 11, 2009, 11:40 pm)
Hi everyone,

Sorry folks, but we have an nmr this fall. As always (although I don't know if I remembered to mention it before) I will not adjudicate a turn in 1901 if there is an nmr. After 01 it's a different story, but the deal is that I put the game immediately into recruiting. This time it's for a new Russia.

So... sorry folks. Don't worry, we'll get on a roll soon. For now I am looking for a replacement for our Russian.

I'll follow up soon and let you all know what's going on.

Warren

.ExternalClass .EC_hmmessage P {padding:0px;} .ExternalClass body.EC_hmmessage {font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;} Hey everyone,

Many apologies. It's been a bit silly these past few days, but we are now underway. There shouldn't be any more delays like this from my end.

So we're underway. No retreats as expected for spring 01. There are some apparently aggressive openings, and one misorder. CHECK THE RULES and your units if you're new or rusty guys. A few provinces have more than one coast......

Here is spring:

--------------------

F Trieste - Venice
A Vienna - Galicia
A Budapest - Serbia

England:

A Liverpool - Wales
F Edinburgh - North Sea

A Marseilles - Burgundy
A Paris - Picardy

Germany:

A Rome - Apulia
F Naples - Ionian Sea

Russia:

F Ank-BLA

No retreats needed, so we're on to fall 1901. Nest deadline is in one week, Monday, May 11, 22:00 MDT.
-------------------------

Okay, maps are attached. After this turn I will also show you the adjudication from Realpolitik, but I'm borrowing a computer and I forgot to copy it as I adjudicated, and it doesn't really matter that much for spring 01.... so....

Sorry again for the delay.

DC-224 Slaughter At StoryTime - Fall 06 - Stirring... - former.trout   (May 11, 2009, 8:20 pm)
Hey folks!
Well, we had some rough and tumble times, but at last we have a Fall 06 adjudication.  My thanks to all of you folks for your patience over the last couple weeks.  =)
On the board, Fionavar is again an unclaimed battleground as the Knights hold all the keys to the North.  The Wizards give the Pirates a hand into Fantastica, but the Archers return the favor by launching the Faeries to Myth Drannor.  Meanwhile, the Ogres rage on in the south but suffer a few setbacks at the hands of an Elvish led alliance.

Three retreats are needed after all is said and done - one each from the Archers, Undead and Hobbits.  Deadline for the Early Winter 06 retreats will be set for Wednesday, May 13th (11:59 PM GMT).

Let me know if you spot any errors.  Cheers all!

DC-227 Spring 1918 Adjudication - zeclient   (May 11, 2009, 6:22 pm)
Hi Guys,

If indeed the orders were sent in a timely fashion I have no issue with the GM resending the adjudication with Russia's orders. But I'm not the GM, so let's see what the wolf decides.

Cheers,

Nick

Not sure why if the orders were sent in a timely fashion that they would not be valid and a redo of the turn would occur. I too submitted uncomfotably close to the deadline. Rgds, Michael

I'm sorry to say that I've been assigned a NMR by the GM. However, I sent my orders at 1:38 PM CST, 22 minutes prior to the deadline (as posted for this game on the diplomaticcorp website) and 14 and a half hours after we were warned that 15 hours remained to issue orders. I feel that I've been given a NMR unjustly. I understand the ruling will remain but I did send orders and in the timeframe established by the GM. Although little point remains I'm happy to play until the end.

Not sure why if the orders were sent in a timely fashion that they would not be valid and a redo of the turn would occur. I too submitted uncomfotably close to the deadline. Rgds, Michael

DC248 Spring 1907 Adjudication - Samnuva   (May 11, 2009, 5:40 pm)
As a new spring dawns for Europe, it unfortunately seems that the
sunset for two major powers is rapidly approaching. Budapest and
Naples, the two last centers of Russia and Italy, respectively, are
now occupied by the French. While the Italian fleet was fortunate
enough to head out to sea during the siege, the Czar's army in Ukraine
was not nearly so lucky. The one retreat we have is Steve's F Ion,
which can head to Tunis, Apula, The Adriatic, Greece, or the Eastern
Med. That'll be due at 5:00 PM on the 12th (tomorrow), although I will
adjudicate early if I get them early. For the rest of you, though,
Fall 07 will be due on Thursday the 14th at 5:00 PM.

All,
I'm sad to say that our new Russian, Jeff, failed to submit orders. This means another NMR on the eastern edge of the board. Jeff, if you're still with us, you need to let me know within 24 hours. I'll replace you if I don't hear from you by then.
The NMR was devastating to Russia, as he's taken from six units to two in a single turn. Therefore, if Jeff fails to contact me within the allotted time, Russia will go into civil disorder for the remainder of the game (as per my House Rules.)
In other news, we face our first elimination this turn, as Austria's last holdout is disbanded. Matt's only possible salvation is the unlikely possibility of Italy vacating Budapest next turn. Thanks for tenaciously sticking with us, Matt. I look forward to seeing you in future games.

DC-227 Spring 1918 Adjudication (dc227) jmc66 May 11, 05:46 pm
My fellow players:

I'm sorry to say that I've been assigned a NMR by the GM. However, I sent my orders at 1:38 PM CST, 22 minutes prior to the deadline (as posted for this game on the diplomaticcorp website) and 14 and a half hours after we were warned that 15 hours remained to issue orders. I feel that I've been given a NMR unjustly. I understand the ruling will remain but I did send orders and in the timeframe established by the GM. Although little point remains I'm happy to play until the end.

My apologies to you all. I was wrong. I wasn't given an NMR received because Wolf hadn't gotten my orders in time (as I first thought) but, instead, because I neglected to put the game number down. The game rules are very clear and the mistake was mine. I'll continue to play (in my diminished capacity) until the bitter end. Maybe I can provoke a war between England and Turkey over my last remaining province. Nonetheless, I apologize to you all, and especially Wolf, for my error. I suppose it is like the real world where a simple error changes the dynamics of everything. Luck to you all. Jeff

Nonesense Jeff,

Turkey will gladly concede Russian territories to the mighty British Empire! Razz

Small mistake, so it sucks, but you are completely right... rules are rules and the GM is entirely within his rights with this call. You are showing to be a big man Jeff, with your serene attitude.

Cheers,

Nick

It's funny that in your public e-mail you said that you'd gladly concede the Russian territories to England, but in your other email you said that you could use the supply centers from Russia to build armies and thwart German advances while diminishing the power accumulation of England, or at least I thought that's what you said..

The standoff continues in the north, but France makes progress in the south. French armies move into Rome and Tyrolia, and a French fleet gains the Ionian Sea as Italy withdraws to port in Naples.

No retreats are due, so we move directly to fall 1907, which will be due Thursday 5/14 at 3pm Central (US) / 20:00 GMT.

Austria's army has reached Picardy and now must stop to ask for directions, as none of the Austrian maps show anything west of Burgundy. Turkey's fleet in Naples does not have that problem, as Italy appears to have furnished them with a complete set of topographic maps, including locations of trendy little cafes. Other than that, France and England more or less cancel, and France falls back. There are no retreats, so I'll see you all on Thursday.

DC 212 Summer 1919 Adjudication - yeeha77   (May 10, 2009, 12:42 pm)
I am going to take matters into my own hands for a moment.  I have submitted moves to Rachel on 4/20 5/5 and 5/6.  I see I have been replaced, but I want to stay in the game.  I would ask that everyone please hold their horses until this is resolved.

Thank you.

Also attached is the new .map file - to make the current .dpw file work, be sure to put this .map file into your c:\program files\realworld\variants\wwiv folder, and overwrite the one that's in there.

All future orders should go to this address! If I get any orders at the old address for the winter and following spring turn I'll let you know personally, and after that I will stop checking it for this game.

Unfortunately our Thailand player has disappeared for two consecutive turns, and thus the Thai units descend into Civil Disorder, and will Hold for the rest of the game... Of course like vultures there are players ready to pick up the bits, as Sichuan and the Philippines manage 5 and 6 builds!
