DIPYCORP PRESS RELEASES
Dear Uncle Bertie,
Thank you for your withdrawal from Denmark, and your concerns
are noted re Kiel and Heligoland Bight...This situation will be
addressed forthwith.

In the short run we think it would be preferable if BAL was was
a DMZ zone, and that, in principal, you would in time reduce
your naval forces in the ENG/NTH/NOR/SWE/BOT area from four
units to three.

This would still allow you complete mastery of the Northern
Waters while alleviating any concerns we might have as our
glorious armies rush to halt the Islamic attack.

Hoping you can agree to this amicable division of territories, and

looking forward to seeing your magnificent ironclads in the

Mediterranean,
Willie

Dear Emperor Josef,
Notwithstanding your unfriendly noises and assistance of France
in the earlier years of this great conflict,  we have always
believed Germany ans Austria~Hungary to be natural allies.

We can see that despite your earlier dalliance with the Turks,
that the love affair is truly over and wish to offer support to
you in your hour of need.

Please let us know what assistance we may lend you to fend off
the Turk, and whether, in return an Italian province or two
might be offered in return for our assistance.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Kaiser Wilhelm II

Austria -> Turkey:  WTF? We work well together and now you
attack?  I hope you will look twice before advancing further.

Austria -> Italy: Sorry dude.  No time to cry though.  Turkey
has stabbed and I need the centers.

Austria -> Germany: Was that message really from you?  If so,
great.  If not, then I hope you will move Boh back to Germany.

Dear Bertie,
In the matter of builds, that while although admitting to and
happy with the superiority of the Great British fleets,
nonetheless the German people feel it is necessary that a Fleet
be built in BER to protect the important home waters of the
Baltic Sea.

This fleet is for defensive purposes only, and I would ask you
Dear Uncle, to agree a bounce in BAL until further notice while
we pursue our joint objective of limiting the advance of the
eastern peril. As proof of our goodwill we will redeploy our A
KIE away from the Denmark border to allay any fears you may
have in this regard.

In the meantime our Army in Spain awaits its instructions as to
when to support you in removing the last vestige of French
power in Portugal. Presumably this will be in the Autumn of 1906.

The Turkish Fleets are massing in the Eastern Mediterranean. We urgently

require your fleets to make their presence felt in the Mediteranean.

Yours fondly,
Willie

Dear Kaiser,
Many gracious thanks for your offer of assistance.  The
Turk has surprised me to suddenly be so aggressive.  He
seems to believe that he has reached the invincible level
and feels free to stretch his muscle any which way he
chooses.  It is truly unfortunate that Italy had to suffer
first, though.  I feel deeply for his predicament,
expecially since he would have been a fine ally against the
    Turk.
That being said, I can offer you Rome or Naples, or
possibly both, for any support or aggression you can
provide to push the Turk back to his corner of the board.
I am not 100% convinced that the Turk has fully turned on
me, or whether he just made a quick grab for Greece and
will now move on to the Ionian.  I am not holding my breath
that that is the case, but I will give him the benefit of
the doubt before declaring outright WAR.
So, this season I will reposition my units to defend and prepare an

offense.  If you'd like to join in, I welcome you with open arms.  The

Russian front looks like prime territory for your newly built units.  The

Italian coast may be the perfect vacation spot for your French armies.

And if the army in Boh would feel comfortable moving towards Galicia,

they would find much support being given from their Austrian fans.

Sincerely,
Emperor Mike

Sorry Sam, I wasn't questioning the validity of the orders.  I was questioning the sanity of them.
I apologize to all for the confusion.

Spring 1905 orders will be due Monday 4/27 at 3pm Central (US) / 20:00 GMT. As always, prelims are encouraged!

For a second straight year, England don't need no stinkin' builds.

Italy does indeed retreat to Naples.

France builds A Mar.
Russia builds A War.
England, an historically un-industrious people, builds nothing. They're on siesta Smile

S1905 will be on Monday!

Paul,

Good playing and I appreciated all our interaction and your take on the game. Good job fighting it out to the end, there really wasn't much more to do than hope for the best and go with John and I. And alas, you fell trap to the classic Everybody-Get-Turkey eastern scenario from the get go.

Hope to meet up again sometime over the board. Maybe in next year's WB.

Dan

Okay gentlemen here's how this one is going to go.

While I may have been willing and able to vote for the draw before I am
certainly NOT going to do so now. Turkey's actions against the people
of Italy cannot go unanswered. Therefore I WILL be voting no to both
proposals. So while we don't know who voted no before, we DO KNOW
now. This time it's me.

My spring orders are in and final. I challenge each of you to do the same.

Heya folks,

Apologies for the delay last night - was the GMs fault not the players. My senses got in the way of a couple bottles of wine - or vice versa... Either way, I regret the lapse.

With regards to the builds - its a fleet in Constantinople and an army in Smyrna. Easy as that, we move onto Spring 1914. Deadline will be set for Tuesday, April 28th (11:59 PM GMT).

In other news - there's been a flurry of proposals put forth. With your Spring orders, please let me know how you think about:
A) A Turkish Solo
B) A 4-way Draw

Finally, just a note about correspondance... Obviously there's no way I can control this - but I kindof view any correspondance between me and a player as confidential. On my end, I will NEVER forward or otherwise advise what has gone on between me and yourselves. Of course its completely your choice whether to follow similar practice but it would definitely be my preference if you did.

Cheers folks!

Note to Austria and Russia: if you are going to insist on being allies, please have the common decency to get your crap in order. Really. F EMe-Ion plus F Ion C A Gre-Rom... you could have suffered a broken convoy with that Keystone Cops routine, and then wouldn't all those supports of Gre-Rom have looked silly! As it is, France plays defense, and the only movements in the South are behind the lines. [It still seems strange to me to type "Fails 5:5 to F Rom"... A ten-unit logjam!].

English fleets continue to pummel the Russian Coast. A navy! A navy! Lytton's kingdom for a navy! The Russian army in Sevastopol retreats the only place it can: Rumania.

Subject: DC205 The Pleiades - Winter 1913 - Farewell To The Fairground

A&E 090205 / DC240: deadline extension details - NickHiggins   (Apr 23, 2009, 7:42 pm)
A&E 090205 / DC240: I had a request as to the identity of the player that asked for a deadline extension. Frank Martin (Britain) has some problems with his home computer, and thus will not be able to access the internet this evening. About the subsequent deadlines, hopefully I will be able to adjudicate the Retreat season on Saturday, and then Winter 1767 can still be on Monday.
