dc235 Dirkfell F15 Results - Very Slight Indeed; B... - garry.bledsoe   (Apr 23, 2009, 7:08 pm)
We March On; We Have the Longest Standard Game Running [Fall 15] Currently!
Turkey Loses Two and England/Germany Roll On.
EGP Proposal
Adieu to France in Spite of Some Clever Orders to Non-Existant Units

All,
No retreats were needed. Turkey removes 1, England gains 3 and Germany gains 1. Orders are due tomorrow at 5pm CST.

IN ADDITION, there is a DIAS proposal which would share a 3-way between E/G/T. Please vote on this for tomorrow. Remember, a missing vote is a NO vote [tournament rules].

A&E 090205 / DC240: deadline extension for 24... - NickHiggins   (Apr 23, 2009, 7:04 pm)
A&E 090205 / DC240: There has been a request for a 24 hour deadline extension. This has been granted. The new deadline for Fall 1767 is Fri Apr 24th. I have a soccer game tomorrow night, so the adjudication will be slightly late, probably 1-2 hours after the deadline.

dc235 Dirkfell Reminder - A SLIGHT Delay - garry.bledsoe   (Apr 23, 2009, 6:38 pm)
All,
I think that there was a mistake in orders forwarded by one player due to being confused about what turn I was doing versus the others. I have sent an email requesting clarification given how long this game has gone on as is. I felt it fair even within the confines of tournament rules. I will not delay past about 10 CST [because I am sick and don't need to be up late] but wanted to let you know that I am on it.

Just a reminder that Fall is due tomorrow at 5pm CST. I have provisionals from all remaining players I believe but I just wanted to clarify to avoid confusion...send orders to me and the orders box.

A fine game. With some great new people ive not played before.
I love the fact john you got cross with me over my bel stab way back. Its emotional.
Laurence you are a solid frenchman and its good to see.

From my view i made 1 error which was to not cc disband to orders- the result my fleet behind johns lines was disbanded- a disaster for me- i never breached englands line again. John you are a shrewd tactician, possibly better than me on occassion Wink

But i still had a good chance of being in th AIF finish which was a certain and then italy stabbed austria and as i stated at the time it was all over.

Best wishes in the real world
Cheers

All,
There was only one retreat: F(Gre) could ONLY retreat to Albania so I moved it. HOWEVER, note that IF the Austrian wishes to go OTB with that F he can build one unit to replace it.

One build apiece for France, Russia and Turkey. Those are due tomorrow at 6pm CST.

Garry and colleagues,

It will be F Alb, so Melinda can plan her build appropriately.

I assume France and Russia will have few decisions to make about there builds.

dc246 fall 1904 results! - coryfucius   (Apr 23, 2009, 5:54 pm)
Sorry this is a bit late, I have been in a conference call for the last 90 minutes...

England and France continue pushing eastward, as more blue and cyan appear in the middle of the board. England's supported attack on Sweden overcomes unsupported moves by both Germany and Russia, while France finally marches into Belgium on his third attempt. Austria orders units westward, allowing Turkey's occupation of Rumania to go unchallenged. A reinvigorated Italy sails to the Adriatic Sea and gets the good news that neither the French nor the Turkish fleet sailed into the undefended Tunis.

No retreats are due, so we go straight to adjustments. Everyone but England gets to participate:
Austria: remove 2
France: build 2
Germany: remove 1
Italy: build 1
Russia: remove 1
Turkey: build 1

Winter 1904 adjustments will be due tomorrow, Friday 4/24 at 3pm Central (US) / 20:00 GMT.

DC248 Fall '04 Adjudication - Samnuva   (Apr 23, 2009, 4:28 pm)
Wow... That was a hectic day. We had a ridiculous amount of order
changes. Now, If you think I've made any mistakes, remember my policy
about the subject line. I take the most recent set of orders from my
DC248 Inbox, which is signaled by a message with the subject "DC248."
Anyway, this turn was a major problem for Russia, who looses
Sevastopol and Norway. Also, the french have displaced the Tyrrenhian
sea, in addition to Bulgaria. In addition, Jason is still in the game,
with a last-minute capture of Vienna with French support. I need
retreats from:

Italy:
A Vienna (Tri, OTB [TRI Autoed])
F Tys (Rom, Nap)

Russia:
F Norway (Bar, Stp[nc])

Presuming no one disbands, England, France, and Turkey each have one
build

England:
F Baltic Sea - Gulf of Bothnia
A Berlin - Silesia
F North Sea Holds
F Norwegian Sea Holds
F Skagerrak - Norway
A Sweden Supports F Skagerrak - Norway

France:
A Bohemia Supports A Tyrolia - Vienna
F Gulf of Lyon - Tyrrhenian Sea
A Munich - Tyrolia
F North Africa - Tunis (*Fails*)
A Piedmont - Tuscany (*Fails*)
A Ruhr - Belgium
F Western Mediterranean Supports F Gulf of Lyon - Tyrrhenian Sea

Germany:
A Tyrolia - Vienna

Italy:
A Galicia - Budapest (*Disbanded*)
F Ionian Sea Supports F Tunis
F Tunis Supports F Tyrrhenian Sea (*Cut*)
F Tuscany - Piedmont (*Bounce*)
F Tyrrhenian Sea Holds
A Venice - Piedmont (*Bounce*)
A Vienna - Budapest (*Dislodged*)

Russia:
A Moscow - Warsaw
F Norway Supports F North Africa (*Dislodged*)
A Rumania Supports A Vienna - Budapest (*Disbanded*)
A Silesia - Galicia
A Ukraine Supports A Silesia - Galicia

Turkey:
A Ankara - Constantinople
A Armenia Supports A Sevastopol
F Black Sea Supports A Sevastopol
A Bulgaria Supports A Serbia - Rumania
F Constantinople - Aegean Sea
A Serbia - Rumania
A Sevastopol Supports A Serbia - Rumania

Now, with so many different orders in my inbox, I may have made a
mistake. I triple-checked, but you should probably check yourself,
just to make sure.

DC 247: F1904 - AceRimmer   (Apr 23, 2009, 2:40 pm)
Orders due tomorrow from: England, France, Italy, and Russia.

Finally, the slow-developing AER that started this game has its triumphant breakthrough, and Germany is smashed and slashed in ways reminiscent of tigers on the prowl. It didn't help that Germany NMR'd. Then again, except for not covering Ruhr, it didn't hurt, either. What? No AER? Are you sure, 'cuz I'm just lookin' at the map, and...

Retreats:
Italian F Tys may retreat to Naples or OTB

(Normally, I would adjudicate the retreat, but as the Italian can disband and rebuild, I thought I'd give him the option to build an army or to waive).

Builds (no disbands):
England 2
France 1
Russia 1

Austria:
F Adriatic Sea Supports A Venice
A Bohemia Supports A Tyrolia - Munich
A Munich - Ruhr
A Silesia Supports A Prussia - Berlin

Note to Austria and Russia: if you are going to insist on being allies, please have the common decency to get your crap in order. Really. F EMe-Ion plus F Ion C A Gre-Rom... you could have suffered a broken convoy with that Keystone Cops routine, and then wouldn't all those supports of Gre-Rom have looked silly! English fleets continue to pummel the Russian Coast. A navy! A navy! Lytton's kingdom for a navy! The Russian army in Sevastopol retreats the only place it can: Rumania.

Paul,

Good playing and I appreciated all our interaction and your take on the game. Good job fighting it out to the end, there really wasn't much more to do than hope for the best and go with John and I. And alas, you fell trap to the classic Everybody-Get-Turkey eastern scenario from the get go.

Hope to meet up again sometime over the board. Maybe in next year's WB.

Dan

Even w/o the guy with a mustache in power (yet), it is not surprising that Germany would like the Sudetens back. Lebensraum is so comforting. What is surprising is Pres Benes trying to get a Mun beerhall or two. The Balkans are already crowded which makes sense as this game can play a bit like a Crowded down there. 4/29 for Fall

One thing in not running a gam,e for a while is you forget issues. The website does have an A Ser but that is A Beo on map & for play purposes. The RP also doesn't size right on my comp but we'll overcome that Wink all key info will be on DC site.

Best wishes in the real world
Cheers

DC226 Before Winter Press! - hapolley   (Apr 22, 2009, 5:38 pm)
Dear Kaiser,
Many gracious thanks for your offer of assistance.  The Turk has surprised me to suddenly be so aggressive.  He seems to believe that he has reached the invincible level and feels free to stretch his muscle any which way he chooses.
It is truly unfortunate that Italy had to suffer first, though.  I feel deeply for his predicament, expecially since he would have been a fine ally against the Turk.

That being said, I can offer you Rome or Naples, or possibly both, for any support or aggression you can provide to push the Turk back to his corner of the board.

I am not 100% convinced that the Turk has fully turned on me, or whether he just made a quick grab for Greece and will now move on to the Ionian.  I am not holding my breath that that is the case, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt before declaring outright WAR.

So, this season I will reposition my units to defend and prepare an offense.  If you'd like to join in, I welcome you with open arms.  The Russian front looks like prime territory for your newly built units.  The Italian coast may be the perfect vacation spot for your French armies.  And if the army in Boh would feel comfortable moving towards Galicia, they would find much support being given from their Austrian fans.
Sincerely,
Emperor Mike

Heya folks,

The retreats for Summer go to Traal, Garthim and Neverpeak Mountain which paves the way for the Fall turn.  However, the drama of this game continues on more levels than the battlefield - I find myself having to put the game back to recruiting in order to find a replacement Ogre.  Babak has given up the ghost and requested that the position be reassigned.

Sorry everyone - we'll have another very short delay while I find someone who can roar like an Ogre.  I'll let you all know very soon when the deadline for Fall 06 orders will be set for.

Cheers!

Big Shoes Trout
