dc246 w1903 - not so fast - mike at southwall.com   (Apr 17, 2009, 11:34 pm)
Whoa folks, back up the disco train…

The 3 mentioned players below may still turn in builds up till tomorrow, Saturday! I wasn’t paying attention to the fact that this game was delayed earlier in the week, and so the Winter turn isn’t on Friday, it’s Saturday this and only this time.

(Spring will still be due Monday – an expedited turn like the others this week)

So everyone may STILL submit builds, to ME, and to the orders box, up till tomorrow (Saturday) 3pm Central US time.

Truly sorry!
Now about those builds…
Your humble Temp GM,
-mike

This is really unfair.  How did I get an NBR?  He just adjudicated the fall today.  If this is how you are going to run the tournament, then I am done with DC.  Take me out of this game.

On the default removals... I thought the policy was changed to say that it was owned centers not home centers.  Sam, can you check with Mike or Trout to make sure that these should be the removals?  I will trust what they say, as we just debated this in another recent game.

It's the home centers, unfortunately. I don't like it very much either, but rules are rules: Failure to submit a disband for winter, will result in units being disbanded following these rules in order:
[*:c4b3a23583]Units furthest from the nearest home center before units closer to the nearest home center[*:c4b3a23583]Units not in a supply center before units in a supply center if equidistant from home[*:c4b3a23583]Fleets before armies if still no unique unit selected per above[*:c4b3a23583]Alphabetical[/listSurprised:c4b3a23583]

DC246 fall 1903 results - coryfucius   (Apr 17, 2009, 5:01 pm)
An interesting turn...

England continues to make gains eastward, this time at Russia's expense, sailing into Denmark against light German opposition. France moves to Tyrolia, but the attack on Munich is thwarted due to Austrian support. France's move to Belgium bounces as a result. Austria captures Venice from retreating Italian forces, and Turkey sails unopposed into the Ionian Sea. Turkey also advances to Ukraine, but finds his convoy to Rumania bounced by Austria, while Austria sails to an undefended Bulgaria.

Oddly enough, even though three centers were captured during the fall, they were all undefended, so no retreats are due. The winter adjustment season will be busy, as almost everyone will participate:

Austria: build 2
England: build 2
France: no change
Germany: remove 1
Italy: remove 1
Russia: remove 1
Turkey: remove 1

Winter 1903 adjustments will be due tomorrow, Saturday 4/18 at 3pm Central (US) / 20:00 GMT. Please be sure to cc: the Orders box, as I will be out of town tomorrow and won't be back till late tomorrow night. One of our esteemed Tournament Directors is likely to send the winter adjudication.

DC251 Fall 1901 - Slangers   (Apr 17, 2009, 4:04 pm)
Dear All

The deadline has passed and I am afraid the news is not good. I have not received orders from Austria or Turkey and I am therefore not going to be able to adjudicate this season. Matt and Bruce you now have 24 hours to submit orders (i.e. by 11:00 GMT on Saturday 18th April). If I don't receive anything in that time then I will assume you are no longer playing. I will put the game back into recruiting mode and get a couple of replacement players. That will of course give us a further delay as those players will need some time for negotiation, but I will keep that period as short as practicable.

All those of you who have submitted orders- you of course have an extra 24hrs to make any tweaks you see fit.

Sorry for the delay chaps. I'll pass on more news as soon as I have it.

Ok Garry. It seems curious to me this strange coincidence of 3 NMR on 4 but supposing…
Anyway I don’t see why the English RUM army disappeared. She can retreat to UKR.

I know why : you used realpolitik and if an unit is attacked while NMR she is automatically destroyed by the program.

Cheers,

Laurence.

DC242: Autumn 1903 - Rocketship   (Apr 17, 2009, 11:12 am)
Howdy Folks,

Autumn 1903 is in. The French retreated to Brest and the Russians to
Moscow.

The Austrians failed to issue retreat orders, so their unit was
disbanded.

Winter 1903 is due 19 April 2009 at 08:00GMT.

Cheers,
Matthew

DC251 Shadowplay: Final warning... - Slangers   (Apr 17, 2009, 10:20 am)
Dear All

Just under 5 hours to the deadline now. I have orders from 3 people so far...

Remember, if there is an NMR this season I will (annoyingly) have to hold the game over and seek a replacement player(s). Beyond this fall season, NMRs will count as NMRs and we may be looking at civil disorder.

All,
I think something is amiss. I find it hard to believe that we have 3 NMRs this turn so I urge Trout to check the orders box in case my message was misinterpreted about where/when to send orders. I WILL BE GONE FOR WINTER AND NEXT SPRING. PLEASE COPY THE ORDERS BOX ON THOSE. orders(at)diplomaticcorp.com (orders(at)diplomaticcorp.com)

Assuming that there is nothing in the orders box, we have NO RETREATS and Turkey gains big [2 builds]. Alas on such a fluke Italy is eliminated. France is down to a lone force and England and Germany still get to build with Turkey.

TROUT: I attached both the previous adjudication RP file AND the new one just in case there is something in the orders box.

I'm not sure why the DPY file was wrong, since the GIF was correct and that comes
right from the DPY. Either way, this should be the correct map and the only changes
are that Italy IS in Naples and he now has two builds.

Subject: DC-230 Lost Kings Of Lore - Fall 1903 - A Farewell To Arms

Heya folks,
There's some interesting movement afoot in the Med as Italy convoys to
Greece and Austria sends a garrison to Syria. Meanwhile, France continues
taking it to England and Germany finds a way into the ports of Sweden.

One retreat is needed before the Winter 1903 adjustments - that of Russia
from Sweden. Deadline for the Russian retreat will be set for Saturday,
April 18th (11:59 PM GMT).

Please just let me know if you spot any errors. Cheers!

This is Mike, your resident tech and all-around nice guy... We apologize for the flood of auto-replies that went out yesterday! The problem has been fixed. This is all somewhat new ground for us to explore, as we are looking at some options to enhance communication w/in the site.

Please share feedback on how we can make the Message Board in general more useful and practical, or at least what we could do to make Diplomacy easier for everyone to enjoy.

O, esteemed GM. I believe you told us that the Italian army was in Naples after the Spring. Could it be that he is still there, rather than in Rome?

Turkey: Supp 3 Unit 3 Build 0

One player is getting married (talk about Diplomacy!) Saturday so we are on a hiatus
until 5/4/09 at 2100. If I get his adjustment before I will change that deadline but for
that's where it stands.
