DC 211: F1909 Adjudication - AceRimmer (Mar 31, 2009, 9:41 am) |
<<Sound of gears grinding>>
Austria guesses correctly. The French landing at Tuscany is thwarted. And now, the line of inaction extends clear from the Ionian Sea to Denmark... but it doesn’t go all the way. The Swedes are still swinging, and England advances into the Gulf of Bothnia and stations an army in Norway.
No units retreat, so F1909 Seismics are the next season, due Thursday at 1000 CST.
Some centers get swapped around but for no net change. Still, thanks to waived builds and a disband, everybody but England has the option for one build this Winter. Those will be due on Friday.

NEver assume a game is dead. At DC we have 3 moderators and numerous others who instantly step in and help to salvage a game after the GM is presumed missing (normally we take a week to try and contact the GM).
I have NOT of yet, run the turn - although it was due 49 minutes ago so there is still time to submit moves.
so get some moves in!

It's like a tug-of-war out there. Wow. Italy gains Marseilles and Russia retakes St. Petersburg. However, France gets some kicks in as well, disbanding the Italians in Munich and keeping the stranglehold on Sweden. Net result is two retreats owed from France and builds due from both the French and the Italians.
We'll do the retreats first. Deadline for Early Winter 12 will be set for Wednesday, April 1st (11:59 PM GMT).
Let me know if you spot any errors. Cheers!

Hey gang,
We might be a little closer to anarchy than two steps... Even with the extra time, I'm still missing those three sets of adjustments. The game must go on, however - and therefore England, Germany and Italy receive auto-disbands. Meanwhile, Russia builds in all home centers: two fleets, two armies.
Hopefully we'll have a little bit better of a turn-out for Spring 07. Because the draw vote fails and we go on. Deadline for Spring 07 will be set for Monday, April 6th (11:59 PM GMT).
Cheers!

DC223 - Spring 1908 Adjudication - bielf11 (Mar 30, 2009, 11:21 pm) |
Spring 1908: "The Russian Bear is out of its cage".
Spring shows the Russian army taking Munich while other units are closing in on other German territory. Is this the end of the German-Russian friendship? Has Germany upset Russia in any way or was the opportunity irresistable for the Tzar?
All the while the German army was fighting on its Western front against the French. For years the Germans and the French seemed to be locked in a stand-off but recently Germany appeared to gain ground (in Fall it took Burgundy and now it moved on Belgium). Apparently Russia did not like the prospect of such a successful neighbor. As a result the Russians have redrawn the european map.
The French meanwhile are forced out of Belgium despite the support cut by the French fleet in HEL and the by the Russian fleet in NWG. It seems that the French are consolidating their positions by moving into London, Paris, and the Gulf of Lyon.
The Italians and the Turks are still in a stand-off over the Ionian Sea. Was that anticipated by the Turkish Pasha and did he therefor order his fleet to Napels and Eastern Mediterranean?
And England? It did not get much attention from the other Powers this season. We like to believe that this is the result of new negotiations but evil tongues predict this to be the beginning of the end of the English Power.

DC-227 Fall 1916 Adjudication - TheWhiteWolf (Mar 30, 2009, 10:09 pm) |
All,
I have several things to cover, so please pay attention.
First: Babak (Russia) has failed to submit orders. I don't know if he's still having computer trouble or not, but he had eight days to submit orders, plus more than two days' warning. Therefore, I have NMR'ed him. Babak, you have 24 hours to notify me if you wish to remain in the game. If not, I will replace you. If you do get in touch, and continue, the next NMR will cause your immediate replacement, as per rule 2 of my house rules.
Second: In my house rules, I state that extensions will be granted on a case-by-case basis, but that extensions to the current turn are strongly frowned upon. I know I don't specify a time frame in which a request is unacceptable, but asking for an extension less than 12 hours before the deadline, and in the middle of the night before a weekday, won't fly. Even in the case of a family emergency, I could plausibly say that you shouldn't have waited until the day of the deadline to send orders (I wouldn't be that heartless, of course, but it's only common sense.)
Third: Please, for the love of all that's holy, read a GM's house rules either before you sign up for a game, or at least before the game starts. One player submitted an order set that was one order short this turn. When, presumably, he realized his error, he sent an "addition" of the one order. According to my house rules, which I will paste in a moment, this "addition" would be the only valid order, causing the rest of his units to be unordered (hold).
The pertinent rule is: "6c. All order sets should contain a full set of orders. If a subsequent version of orders is sent (i.e., Version 2,) previously received orders will be completely disregarded, regardless of completeness of the most recently received order set. No assumptions will be made as to player intentions for a unit thus unordered."
I did not do that this time, as it would have been detrimental to the game, and it is too late at night to ask guidance of the Mods (and still get the turn out.)
Fourth: PLEASE check a map before submitting orders. Even in a case where you know exactly where all your units are, you should always make sure the spaces you're trying to move them to are adjacent. If the order set in question had been submitted even a day ago, I could have said something like "please review your orders for legality," and at least given some heads up (without crossing into dangerous, GM-interference territory.) However, if I receive orders on the day of the deadline, by the time I check them it will be after the deadline (as I work all day,) and too late to ask clarification. Therefore, potentially flawed order sets can end up affecting your position or plans in the game.
That's all for this turn, I think. Here it is. Any complaints can be addressed to me, though I can't promise I'll change the results. You get what you order, folks.

DC 246 Blitz Round II - Spring 1901 Adjudication - former.trout (Mar 30, 2009, 9:54 pm) |
Heya folks,
Sounds as though Cory got called away unexpectedly this afternoon, so the Spring 1901 adjudication is happily brought to you by your friendly neighbourhood Trout. =)
France goes for the Iberian Peninsula, England moves north, Germany sweeps for the lowlands and Austria teaches those Serbians a thing or two. Meanwhile Italy sails for the Ionian and Russia and Turkey bump heads in the Black.
No retreats are needed after this first turn. Deadline for Fall 1901 orders is set for Thursday, April 2nd (20:00 GMT).
Please let myself or Cory know if you spot any errors. Cheers Blitzers!

A&E 090205 / DC240: The Winter 1765 season has been adjudicated. The Med is getting crowded with fleets, and the Danish army has been formed for the first time (it can only strive for the same standard of non-movement as the Danish fleet). Meanwhile, we have another entry in the war of words over the public airwaves.
The deadline for Spring 1766 season is Thu Apr 2nd.
Press:
England to Anonymous: Pfft! For what it’s worth, Denmark only told me that he was getting pressure from several sides to attack me. I told him to go ahead and take Mec. The rest was guessing on my part, so don’t throw David under the bus. And you’re wrong about France too. I asked Isaac to move to Gascony in case France attacked. Just like I’ve had many chances to take Brest, preparing for something and actually doing it are two different things.

Fanfare? You're asking for fanfare? Ahoy! Look at the Turkish ship floating out to sea... and while I can't see the northern Russian fleet, I hear from friends that there is nothing to stop it on its way to Sweden. Ahoy in the west. You'll have some new neighbors soon enough.

DC 216 - WOT 2 - Spring 1004 Results - Githraine (Mar 30, 2009, 1:15 pm) |
The Borderlands retake The tainted city of Shadar Logoth as the Westlands squeeze the Midlands out of Baerlon. That unit is disbanded as the only access to the Mist Pass from the east is through Emonds Field.
Meanwhile, the Whitecloaks are pushed out of Amadicia by the midlands and from Salidar by the Midlands with help from the sea folk, who also relieve the Southlands of Godan.
The Westlands also sneek a fleet into Tremalking Bay itself, and the Borderlands advance into Tarwin's Gap!
On a lighter note, I found that my RP file has another error, it does not think a fleet should be able to go from Tremalking to the Tremalking Sea!
Fun! Fixed!
All 3 units that can retreat have only one leagal move each, So I am ordering thus:
Retreats:
Southlands:
F Godon - Cindalking
WhiteCloaks:
A Amadacia - Eastern Shadow Coast
A Salidar - Malden
So Fall orders will be due Sunday, April 5th (at) 9pm, If anyone disagrees with the Retreats or would prefer an OTB, please let me know by Wednesday.
We also have a DIAS proposal, so please vote with your Fall Orders
