DC215 Fall 1909 Results - MattTheLesser   (Mar 10, 2009, 12:28 am)
First thing's first, the draw proposal has been voted down, so onward we go.

The alliances again seem to be shifting this turn as Germany finds
himself under attack from both other powers, with Russia cutting a key
support from Kiel and allowing Italy to get into Munich. Elsewhere
Germany does push back the Russian forces in Prussia, while Italy still
finds German forces blocking the entrance to France.

There were three resultant retreats. However, Germany only had one
option that didn't involve bouncing with himself, and I took the liberty
to retreat the Russian army to War (over Lvn). If either of you prefer
OTB or a switch (in Warren's case), just let me know.

All of this leads to a winter with only one adjustment: Italy is due one
build. So I will adjudicate that as soon as I receive it, but I'll set
a deadline for B for Wednesday at the latest. If I receive the build
tomorrow we'll have Spring 10 on Friday, otherwise it will be Monday.

That build would be Fleet Rome.  And Warren - you're a genius.

Dc180 WARNING: Fall 1913 orders due 3/11/2009 at 2... - packrat   (Mar 10, 2009, 12:26 am)
The deadline is about 42 hours away as I write this and I have a whole
TWO sets of orders. This game isn't over just yet.

I understand Russia not sending them in since he doesn't have any units to order,
but the rest of you (except two) need to get them in.

There is also a proposal for a 3 way draw consisting of France/Austria and Germany.
Please vote on that as well when you submit your orders. If you do not vote it will
count as a no vote.

Personally, I abhor playing for a draw, but this isn't my game so it is up to you guys.
I simply collect the orders and the votes and correlate them as needed.

So that's where we are at guys - lets get the stuff in, shall we?

Subject: Re: Dc180 New Gm - Fall 1913 orders due 3/11/2009 at 2100 EST

OKay gentlemen, here are your results. No retreats are needed so we move right on
to Fall 1913. Those orders will be due 3/11/2009 at 2100. If I have all sets marked
as FINAL I will adjudicate early.

Check for errors.

On a side note -
Turkey ordered ANK to support BLA to CON but never ordered BLA to CON.
I emailed suggesting only that he check his orders, but as I looked at the other orders
I noticed that even if Turkey HAD ordered BLA to CON it still would have failed since
the German order of ARM to ANK cut the Turkish support, and Austria's move had
support so the end result would have been 2 v 1 and Austria would have had it anyway.

So - please be sure to check your orders before you send them in. I will generally NOT be
checking orders, but if I notice something wrong - I will only suggest you check them, I will
not tell you what is wrong - that's up to you.

Heya Disco-freaks,

The mirror-ball is a-glowing and the count-down is on us.  No, not the FINAL Countdown (though that was a kicking song...)  But there are only 19 hours or so till Winter 05 deadline.

Rock the Casbah and get em on in.  Cheers!

DC236 Winter Blitz Board 6 - Spring 1909 Correctio... - former.trout   (Mar 09, 2009, 11:46 pm)
Well, it just goes to show that you can't find good help these days.

Apologies all, but I used the wrong orders for Italy.  An order revision had been submitted and confirmed by me and somehow I overlooked it when adjudicating.  The difference is minor, however - only two moves differed from the order set that I used:

- The army in Rumania attacked Sevastopol, with no difference from previous adjudication resulting
- The fleet in North Atlantic moved to Clyde.

Please find attached the revised map showing the Italian fleet correctly placed in Clyde.  Once again, my apologies for the error.

Deadline for Summer 1909 retreats remains Tuesday, March 10th (11:59 PM GMT).

Cheers!

Just that one move is needed for Summer 09, and Italy has options.  Deadline for Summer will be set for tomorrow night - Tuesday March 10th (11:59 PM GMT).

Please let me know if you spot any errors in the adjudication.  Cheers all!

Guys

It is surely now quite obvious that France has played an excellent game to
get to 17 centres. It is also obvious that the combined powers of Italy,
Austria and Turkey have set up an impenetrable stalemate line.

Therefore can we please all agree to a DIAS and prepare ourselves for Round
2 of the competition?

I concur, there is no way for France to solo. We could even spell our orders out and it would not matter, since the line is unbreakable.

i'm going to change my vote to yeas for the 4way draw now.

I wanted to get to 17 and set myself up... and I also was hoping Italy might NMR again ;P

so DIAS is agreed to.  it was great playing with you all - though it was not a great game.  with 2 players NMRing from the start - it was a very uneven game.

in any case - good luck to all of you for the rest of the tournament.

I too agree that this was a very uneven game with two countries not playing, and England semi-playing at best.

Now, if everyone just solos in round two, we will get an okay score at least Razz

DC-239 Missing Austria Next Week (3/16) - dipknight   (Mar 09, 2009, 11:26 am)
White Wolf,

I don't know where we are with obtaining a new Germany.  And, I assume, we will be given time to communicate with the new Kaiser.  So, I need to make you aware that there is a strong possibility that I will be on Business travel next week from Monday (3/16) through Thursday (3/19).  However, the probability that I will have email capability during my travel is good so I am not sure if their will be any impact to the schedule.  Unless of course I do not have email capability, in which case, I shall be out of communication until Friday (3/20).  Just a heads up for your planning process.

Thanks,

DC 233: S1909 Adjudication - AceRimmer   (Mar 09, 2009, 11:25 am)
One retreat. It disbands. So, nobody needs to do anything before Thursday. And Kevin will get credit for submitting Fall orders, even though he has no units to order. Is this consolation? I suspect not. But if Paul so chooses, Kevin can continue his effort-free timely orders until such time as Paul wants to become the King of Scotland.

Reminders: Thursday's deadline will be at 1400 CST, as I will be pre-occupied in the morning. I will not confirm orders after about noon on Wednesday.

Second: *IF* you wish to participate in the second round, please confirm at the DC website. I know that John found the first round too hectic, and I suspect he will not renew. Fletch needs to consider if his NMRs were results of time zones or of something else. Rachael... well, sometimes real life interferes with Diplomacy, but I understand Rachael should be fine for the second round. In any case, it's okay to admit that daily deadlines are too much stress (which is why I am only GM'ing and not playing). Gary, Steve, Paul, and Kevin -- you have been great and very reliable; I hope you all play another round. If there's a problem with the Blitz, it's all the NMRs. I expect there will be fewer in the second round, and you should all enjoy that experience better.

DC 211: S1908 - AceRimmer   (Mar 09, 2009, 9:04 am)
This is beginning to remind me of when my daughter was born. “Puuuuuuush! Come on, baby! Puuuuuuush!” And just like when a woman delivers a baby, it’s just not all that simple and straight-forward – you need to keep pushing -- or else find some other way to prise loose that precious center.

Ten units (nearly 30% of the armed forces of Europe) are involved in the Big Push against Berlin. It fails 4:5, including a cut support. Not surprisingly, motion on the northern half of the map comes to a standstill.

There are no retreats! So, let’s do seismics on Wednesday at 1000 CST. I think that’s 1500 GMT, thank you Daylight Savings Time!

Computer is back alive again. A reminder that I am missing at least one set for Spring.

As is obvious, no need to vote. The draw has quite publicly been voted down.

Dear Dc228ers.

I still have NO heard from the following player. I am concerned as your deadline for moves is in 72 hours. If I have NOT heard from Mark in the next 48 hours, I will have to consider seeking a replacement.

Folks,
As some of you know things have been pretty hectic in my house lately. The kids and I came down with a horrible stomach virus that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The kids and I are finally better but we just received word that my husband is being sent back to his home base a few days earlier. That leaves me little less then a week to get packed, find us a truck and an apartment in San Antonio. During this time Stephen Lytton will be taking over GMing for you go so all orders from now on are to be sent to stevelytton(at)hotmail.com.
As soon as we get into San Antonio and we get settled I will take back over. Stephen will be setting a new deadline I believe. Have fun guys and take care. I'll be back in about 2 -3 weeks.. ( hopefully 2! )

-Rachael

FYI I have to drive my son to school today and due to the timing I will be staying there. He assures me that the college has WiFi and i will be able to adjudicate. If I can't figure out how to connect I will be late with the results today.
