dc187 winter 09 eog - catsfather   (Feb 17, 2009, 12:37 pm)
A draw between Russia and Turkey is declared with France and Germany
marked as survivors. Fall season's orders and results below and
attached. The deadline of the deadline has been reached and I'm still
missing orders. The game is over.

As a game: From my side (looking down on the board, but able to see
everyone's orders) I'd there was one key moment in this game. However,
that's not for me to discuss. I am interested to hear players' end of
game statements.

As my first experience of GMing a game: It's a sad way to end, but I
think it's the best way for this game.

It's been interesting to see what goes on in the background. It's been
interesting to see the problems of being a GM. The way this game ended
wasn't right. However, I will be doing it again, I will learn from this
game, and (most importantly) I recommend GMing to everyone to try at
least once.

On that note...

DC 207: Apologies for the delay - agenbite.lee   (Feb 17, 2009, 9:44 am)
Hey

Its been a day and a half since I got your email, and I've been hiking as that its president's day. With the pace of this game, I'm not sure it matters.

I'd be up for a draw, if yall want it. I've been locked in battle with Chu and trying to convince Chin to give me a break. A new player for Chin might help me, but he's probably just going to keep coming after me.

With the stopping and starting I never really got into a rhythm of the game, and I was getting a little worried I might not have much internet access this summer.

Best,
Lee

Steve

Can I propose a Draw for the remaining players (not including JacK) at this point?

I am tired of the delays in this game, and even though I am not attributing blame - this game has not had much continuity for me. and a NEW player at this stage is something I am looking forward to.

I propose a draw for :-

Barbarians, Yellow, Green, Purple with RED survivial (as of this WINTER)

If the other 4 are in favour, we could end this game and then a new one would be started with possible better flow and results?

what do you think Steve?

Penguin.

Penguin.

Dc220s

As some of you know, our Russian player has found difficulty connecting to the internet and is not likely to be back online until early March.

Not wanting to delay the game, for that long - i have found a TEMPORAY player to submit moves as Russia.

The russian position is still Andy's but will be managed by Trout until he returns.

Dc220 Fall 1904 will be a slightly extended date of Thursday February 19th at 7pm Australian EST so you only have 48 hours to talk to him.

Russia can be contacted on former.trout(at)gmail(dot)com

Trout -I'll send you a player roster.

-----------------

Heya all Heroes and Villains. With one abstention due to forced absence, I'm happy to announce that the 7-way draw proposal meets with success. Congratulations to all players for the shared victory. =)

I have to admit, this one was definitely one of the most interesting games I've watched unfold. Russia ends up with one center in the British Isles, Britain occupies the north, Turkey has a presence in Finland, and the central powers tangled up with France throughout the west... Wow.

EOG statements are definitely encouraged. My thanks to all of you for valiantly playing this one out - and we'll see you all in the toons!

By the way - in case you were wondering, all quotes that started off the emails came from The Tick cartoons and comics. So too did the email subject headers - those were all episode titles. Man I loved that cartoon. =P

Heya folks,

Sorry to say, you're still stuck with ol' Trout for at least another season. Things get a little frosty this turn as Italy pulls into Bulgaria, Turkey reclaims Smyrna and who knows what will come out of the turmoil that is France...

One retreat is required after the Spring, from our friends in Russia. The unit in Smyrna has options - we'll find out where the Tsar chooses by tomorrow night. Deadline is set for Tuesday, February 17th (11:59 PM GMT).

Please just let me know if you spot any errors. Cheers everyone!

DC215 Spring 1908 Results - MattTheLesser   (Feb 16, 2009, 9:04 pm)
A lot of defense this season as the Czar holds the fort in Holland,
causing a roadblock for Germany's armies in France, and some supports in
the south lead to almost a total lack of movement. Other notable
happenings include Germany's whole navy pushing north and west and the
continued northward march of Italy's armies.

No retreats, so we progress straight to Fall 1908, which will be due
this Friday, February 20, at 9 pm eastern.

DC232 spring 1906 results! - coryfucius   (Feb 16, 2009, 4:26 pm)
France continues to roll through England's home territory, marching into Liverpool as the English army falls back to Edinburgh. Two English fleets move eastward toward St. Petersburg. Turkey moves more armies through Russian lands -- will this fall finally mark the end for the absent Tsar?

France and Austria battle to a standstill in Silesia, but due to an Italian NMR, France pushes an army into Piedmont. The unordered Italian navy, which receives support from Austria, holds its position against the French Mediterranean fleets.

For the first time in a while, there are no retreats due. We'll thus proceed directly to fall 1906, which will be due Thursday 2/19 at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT. A friendly reminder - prelims are strongly encouraged!
