DC464 - Fall 1907 - Zoterik (Jan 25, 2014, 9:35 am) |
Did no one tell me that this is a no-press Gunboat game? My request for preliminary orders was met by precisely that, prelims from everyone. Then no one bothered to change them at all, which makes me wonder if you guys figured out your schemes in advance, or simply don't actually do any negotiating. Either way, we advance through Fall 1907 with preliminary orders all around. Feeling lucky, punks?
There was considerably activity in the Balkans, but the net result is zero as both Austria and Turkey took one and lost another. Turkey does still get a build to show for the fight, however. Sevastopol was left open again, but this time Russia went north for the imperial capital, but was held off by the neo-Teutonic knights. Indeed, the biggest gains this year are German, adding two centers, including Munich once again, although with only Berlin open for a build, one will be kept in his back pocket for later use. If ever. I had one of those once; it felt good at first but marked the beginning of my end in that particular game. And England lingers while France and Germany fight over gets what England has already lost.
I need one retreat from Austria. As it only affects the Austrian adjustments, I have no qualms about releasing adjustments now for those who don't want to wait until after the retreat comes in.
Autumn 1907 retreat due 27 January at 08:00 GMT.
Winter 1907 adjustments due 29 January at 08:00 GMT.

Hi everyone,
As noted by Warren, technology is perhaps our biggest enemy today... yep. It's not the clashes over Belgium, the bounce in Swe, the rebuffed invasion of Bulgaria, or even the subtle Italian landing in Tunis. It's computers, and what they do to schedules when they disagree.
Everyone builds!
Builds to Warren, but I think copy me for this turn. If I can get them all today by 3pm Central time, I'll put out builds then. Otherwise tomorrow morning for Warren. Then Spring is already due Monday tho, so getting builds out today would be preferred.

Many thanks Mike,
I should be fine running winter this evening... my computer is under warranty, and I think they know I'm upset. And I thought Lenovo laptops were supposed to be reliable.

DC484 Berkeley’s Blitz
Spring 1901
Europe seems relatively quiet, but something’s going on… Some very polite fencing for position… however, Italy’s march into Trieste is probably not seen as very polite by Austria!
No retreats, so: next is Fall 1901
*** Deadline: Thursday 23rd January at 1600 - please note the earlier time - 1600 GMT *** this will be the default time from now on. It means I can adjudicate before I eat!
I will not guarantee to remind you. Latecomers stand a strong risk of NMRing, so why not send prelim orders now, in case real life intervenes in the meantime?
Don’t forget to copy orders to orders(at)diplomaticcorp.com

*Austrians NMR, Archduke Claims He's Giving Europe "A Fighting Chance"*
*Russian Gambit Trades Gains for Position*
*Belgium Erects Forcefield*
Hey all,
Austria's NMR leaves an apparent Italian stab floundering, and Russia hanging. Meanwhile, France and Russia both forfeit builds to get a jump on the opposition, with French fleets sailing into the Channel while Russia moves on Germany en force. In fact, only Germany gets 2 builds. Everyone else has a single build. The official breakdown is:
Austria: +1 (+Ser)
England: +1 (+Nwy)
France: +1 (+Por)
Germany: +2 (+Swe, +Hol)
Italy: +1 (+Tun)
Russia: +1 (+Rum)
Turkey: +1 (+Gre)
