DC 207 - Game Continues - Githraine   (Oct 21, 2008, 9:34 am)
Hello all, I am your temporary GM, just until Steve gets his Computer situation worked out.

So as I understand it, you have all received the spring results, and I now need the retreat orders from you all.
Please send those orders to me and the Game box by Thursday, (at) 9pm East Coast US Time. (for reference I am sending this message just past 10:30 AM)

Thank you all for your patience!

Jason

Here are the results again:

"For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill."

With three mobile neutrals (and one supporting), it appears that some are attempting to win without fighting.
Everyone captures exactly one neutral center this Spring, which leads to several dislodgements.
Let's get the Retreat orders for those neutrals in on Tuesday, October the 7th at 23:59 GMT. Retreat orders will be the same as regular ordering of Neutrals, except that if there is no consensus, the unit will disband. There will be no delay for this adjucation. Since there are no Chinese units that were dislodged, and only neutrals, any orders missing on Tuesday will be orders to disband the neutrals. If this is what you want, I will still appreciate you shooting me an email telling me that.

A couple of technical notes: I am using my wife's MAC, which I hate. Because of this, I don't have the file converters that I have on my computer (and it took enough to convince my wife to let me download Realpolitick), and I don't know how to convert the .pic to a .gif. If someone could do that, and email it back to me, that would help a lot. Also, the MAC version of Realpolitick won't let me copy the orders like the PC version does. How do I get around that, so I don't have to type the orders next time?
Thirdly, I think something is wrong with the Mandate RP file. On my PC and MAC, I can't open a saved version. It says something like invalid order or something. Does anyone know more about RP that can figure out what that is?

Anyone wishing to discuss the retreats with me is welcome to email me (I'm writing reports at the
moment so i'm not sure when I'll get a chance to sit down and write first).

Hopefully Jason can confirm the last 2 moves from the 2 players soon and we can kick this game off.

Letting everyone know that the Barbarians are still active.

I hope everyone is enjoying the variant so far. It has some flaws, in my opinion, but it does have a certain appeal.

DC201 (Viking) - Spring 956 Adjudication - bielf11   (Oct 20, 2008, 8:36 pm)
Spring 956: this Spring it seems that the war is fought predominantly in the areas of Praha, Brandenburg and Bavaria. There are some skirmishes around Paris and Avignon as well as in the waters of the Mediterranean off the Tunesian coast. And the Arabs and the Burgundians fought eachother in the south of the Iberian Peninsula and ended up switching for Cordoba and Sevilla. But overall it has been a peaceful season with powers carefully moving their units around.
No doubt that they are all preparing for heavy fighting in Fall to go into Winter with some victories.

One retreat for Summer 956:
The Arab army in Cordoba was left with no choice but to retreat.
They can go to either Lisboa or Segovia.
Deadline for this retreat is tomorrow Tuesday Oct 21, at 23:00 GMT.

DC205 - Early Winter 1903 - A Dropped Ball - former.trout   (Oct 20, 2008, 1:17 pm)
Heya guys,

My most sincere apologies to all of you. I completely dropped the ball on DC205 last week and this is totally my fault. That's a case of beer I owe all of you. =)

Very quickly, Germany retreats to Berlin and Italy to Tyrolia. I'd have adjudicated the Winter as well, however not all sets of orders are in. (Which makes sense, as you were all probably waiting on the retreats..) I'll set the deadline for Winter adjustments for Tuesday, October 21st (11:59 PM GMT) but I'll adjudicate as soon as all orders are in.

Once again, I'm sorry I let the game slip guys. You folks deserve better and it won't happen again.

Cheers!

Two retreats were required, on from Italy and the other from Russia. However, only one option was available for both so I took the liberty. Italy was relocated to Tyrrhenian Sea and Russia to Silisia.

Adjustments come calling and find the green and yellow gaining one, and the white removes one. Deadline for Winter 05 will be set for Wednesday, October 22nd (11:59 PM GMT).

For those of you having trouble with placenames, the RP files will give you all the correct names.
But I was able to decipher everyone's orders (they were not bad, don't worry) and we are now under way.

It looks like the central zone is being played very conservatively by all players, we will see how long that lasts.
Just a reminder, the Seanchan, Aiel & Trolloc raiders can appear during the Build Phase, and each will once in every 5 year period.

No retreats this turn, so we will go ahead with the Fall Move, deadline Thursday Oct 23rd (at) 9PM EST.
I will enforce the One Late order set and then issue NMRs for late orders that are not announced to me ahead of time.

Good Luck!

Heya folks,

We put the leisure suits away in all too short of a time as the missing orders find their way in very quickly. The story of Spring is one of the Chinese front collapsing, and of the war narrowing in scope to just one or two contested centers.

Three retreats are owed - all from our Chinese friends. Deadline for Summer 1879 orders will be set for Monday, October 20th (11:59 PM GMT).

Please review this adjudication for errors. Cheers everyone!
