From the precepts of Kato Kiyomasa
Having been born into the house of a warrior, one's intentions should be to grasp the long and short swords and to die.
Hail mighty warriors,
Happily, our fearless Uesuki leader has submitted orders and we move into the Spring 1570 orders. Tremors hit the Japanese island as the Mori and the Chosokabe come face-to-face, Hojo assists Takeda into Musashi and the Shimazu launch forward towards the center of the board.
No player retreats required after the Spring, but our first Ronin army is disbanded in Musashi. Fall 1570 orders deadline will be set for Thursday, September 13th (11:59 PM GMT).
As for winning conditions, it was a clear decision in favor of a 12 SC solo.
Please let me know if you spot any errors. Cheers all,
Bushido Trout

Looks like I sent out the adjudication last night, but didn't include the group list in the CC field. Total GM screw-up, and I'm wearing the dunce cap this morning.
For your benefit, the adjudication is below. Apologies for the error.

"Our plans gone quite wrong here, I fear"
The English admiral said, quite sincere.
"The Danish halted our foray
Which left Russia in Norway
Now we give one of our fleets the bum's steer."
----------------------------------------------------------
The bell tolls loudly for Austria in Fall 1904 as the Habsburg empire gets ravaged by the Russian and the Turkish forces. France regroups in the face of the advancing Italians and England fails to secure the beachheads, bumping Russia back into Norway. Two retreats were required from the Fall, although both units only had one place to go so I took the liberty. The French fleet in Spain was auto-retreated to the Mid Atlantic and the Austrian unit in Budapest was sent to regroup in Trieste. However, if OTB is preferred by either France or Austria, please just let me know.
Otherwise, we'll move into Winter 1903. Deadline will be set for Thursday, September 13th (11:59 PM GMT).
Thanks everyone. Just let me know if you spot any errors. Cheers!

Hola!
Well, if we weren't already in the end-game by now, Fall 07 pushes us over the edge. Rome continues to play footsie in Apulia, the middle of the Mediterranean fills from south to north with Carthaginian navies, Egypt hangs on by its fingernails and Persia begins to eat away at Greece like a big mint oreo cookie. (What? They had Oreos back in the Ancient Med.. I'm sure of it...)
Two retreats after the Fall moves, both from Greece. However, one was an automatic disband from Chersonesus and the other, from Apulia, had only the Adriatic Sea to fall back to. I took the liberty, but if OTB is preferred Caleb please just let me know.
Winter adjustments are fairly simple. Greece owes one disband and Persia owes two builds. We'll set the Winter deadline for Friday, September 14th (11:59 PM GMT) please.
Oh - and all the EOG proposals were scuppered. So in that respect, we're back to the drawing board. =)
Cheers folks!

Good news and bad news greeted Dmitri Ivanovitch that morning. Reviewing the latest intelligence reports at his desk in Moscow, he piled the good items on his right and the bad on the left. This day was a good one – the piles seemed evenly split.
Good – the surprise convoy attack on the Turkish in Ankara had gone off without a hitch. With most of their force occupying Greece, it was doubtful that the Sultan would be able to recover.
Bad – the Germans had steamed full-bore into the Gulf of Bothnia. It looked as though St. Petersburg, stolen from Russian control by the hapless British, was at risk.
Good – their Italian allies had ventured into Trieste and prevented the Habsburgs from supporting a German attack on Budapest
Bad – the French still seemed to be defying common sense and aiding the Germans dismantle Italy.
In all, the intelligence reports seemed to split into two patterns. Either there was good news concerning the Russian attempts to unify Europe against German aggression – or there was the bad news concerning other powers that seemed to be doing all they could to aid and abet the Kaiser.
Still – the news was evenly mixed. The piles were even… It was a good day for Dmitri Ivanovitch. ---------------------------------------------------------
The German wave sweeps closer to victory in Spring 06 as the Kaiser's forces storm into Rome and Vienna and threaten many more centers for the Fall. France continues to cast Paris' lot with Berlin, and Turkey convoys to Greece even as Russia convoys to Ankara.
No retreats required, so unless any mistakes or errors are spotted we'll move directly into Fall 1906. I'm tentatively setting the Fall deadline for Monday, September 10th (11:59 PM GMT.) However, one of our member is on vacation from the 6th to the 13th - so if he requests me to adjust the deadline I will do so.
Cheers folks,

DC101 - Update - aramis604 (Sep 13, 2007, 9:46 am) |
It looks as if I skipped past Gram's retreat order last season by mistake. Please note that Austria has an Army in Siberia. I will update the map tonight when I return home.

Now in our 7th year...
Austria circles the wagons, while Russia moves into Constantinople... in the west the Brits squeak another fleet into the Mediterranean and surround Marseilles! Is this "la dernière position" for France?

Guns, Germs and Steel 1264 / DC110 - Game On! - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
The Han Chinese elite have squashed the Taiping Rebellion.
We are hopefull the new Hunan Army will take active control of the now defunct Qing dynasty.
Under the command of our new eminent scholar-generals we intend on restoring order to our region, and welcome all who share in our common goals.
We are no stranger to Western ideals and welcome meetings with our Asian brothers.
Sincerely,
David E Watson -Radical Social Reformist

From: "Former Trout" <former.trout(at)gmail.com>
Hey there Imperial Folks!
It's with great pleasure that I announce the arrival of Dave Watson to the game. He has been an observer for the last several turns, and has now been good enough to offer to step in to helm the Chinese position. I'm extremely happy to have him in the game with the rest of you fine blood-thirsty cut-throats. =)
We'll reboot Fall 1864 - orders are unlocked and may be changed. Dave has not told me that we can go ahead without some time to diplome, so we will reset the Fall 1864 deadline for Wednesday, September 26th (11:59 PM GMT). I know this has been quite a delay but I thank you all for hanging in there.
I have attached the Summer 1864 map, as well as the Spring and Summer 1864 adjudications. Please keep in mind that the map can also always be found at:

DC121 Fall 1902 Results - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
There are no retreats, so we proceed directly to Winter 1902, which will
be due this coming Tuesday, September 25, at 9 pm eastern. After that a
player has asked for a bit of an extension, so, just so you all know
(I'll remind you as well), Spring 1903 will be due one week after that,
on Tuesday, October 2, at 9 pm eastern.
By the way this is a very interesting game to watch guys! I've seen
some unusual but creative moves that quite entertain me. Some strong
alliances seem to be forming, but this is Diplomacy, so you never know
what will happen!

DC121 Winter Apologies - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
For some reason I got it in my head that I had set the deadline as
Friday when it was in fact Tuesday. Have to run now but will publish
Winter as soon as I get back, probably around 1. Have not checked to
see if everyone who is due builds sent them, but if you have not then do
so by then.
Apologies,

Then we have a deal. I will pull away from Mor and Lan asap - they are yours for the taking. I will also transform all my fleets in waters into armies and rebuild them as armies, or at least, as fleets that can't enter the Med at this point. I will thus vacate Wmes, Gol and Plm. I'll pull Mor to Mao - might have to keep Wmed for supporting that as I have no idea what is north of thoose waters. I will also transform my cat fleet into an army. I'll transform Lan as well, and pull that one out next spring - at this moment there is not any room left to manouver it, and I belive disbanding it with an attack from you sets me back a bit more than we have to. That is your call though.
So, summing it up, you'll have Mor this fall and Lan next year - and i'll be on my way northwards. I only ask that you don't enter Sao - but that's not a big thing to ask for either. I'll likely keep a fleet there, both for moving northwards and as to have a 'spotter', it's a quite vital area for me.
Does this sound okay?
If so, then it will be done, and Spain will pledge eternal servitude to Israel - I will be your dagger in the west (beeing to small to call myself a sword I think), that will smite whomever seeks to destroy you My liege. It is my hope that entering into such a vassallage will safeguard Spains survival for the future, in whichever manner you so choose.
