Much as I hate to agree with those Westland fellas... I also could always use a few days longer on the turn deadlines... Mostly just cuz I'm a lazy bastard - but that goes without saying. =P

3 days negoitating time is very tight, given my schedule...

If possible I would be happier with a long time between turns...

Hola!

The French solo proposal is scuttled. As are the English army in Galicia and the Russian Moscow garrison. Other than those two disbands, however, no retreats are required.

Deadline for Fall 1914 orders will be set for Thursday, Apr 10th (11:59 PM GMT). As always, please just let me know if you've spotted any errors in my perfect adjudication. =)

Cheers!

Heya gang,

The central powers feel a pinch... One retreat from Italy in Munich is the result of the Spring orders. With this turn however, I now return you to your regularly scheduled GM. To avoid a deadline of only a few hours, I've set the Summer order due for Wednesday, Apr 8th (7 PM Australian EST). However, I'm sure that if Steve receives the order before then that he will adjudicate early.

Cheers everyone.

DC161 Knights Who Say Ni! - Fall 827 - A Scotsman... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Oh... Bloody Hell! Er ... a Scotsman on a horse!

The Swedes and the Norse put an end to the plague of Danish longboats in the Northern Waters. Meanwhile the Scots tighten the noose around the Gaels and the Anglo-Saxons continue to stretch out with both arms.

In an ironic coincidence, both the Swedes and the Anglo-Saxons misordered this round - and both mistaken orders concerned Saxony. Sweden missed the support for Saxony, and the Anglo-Saxons missed the support for the attack on Saxony. Rather than delay the game seeking clarification, I simply ran the turn with the orders as submitted. (I assume that if I got clarification, it would end up a 2:2 bounce rather than a 1:1 bounce - net result the same.)

With all that, we have one retreat before moving to Winter adjustments. The Bretons have until Wednesday, Apr 9th (11:59 PM GMT) to send their fleet in the Bristol Channel packing.

And speaking of Bristols, my thanks to Rob B. for taking the Danes to the end of their road. Rob, we hardly got to know ya in this one - but I'm sure I can speak for everyone in saying we look forward to the next game with you. =)

Cheers everyone. Please let me know if you spot any errors...

Okey-dokey...

Please find attached the corrected Fall 827 map minus the Breton retreat, as well as the adjusted .map file for those of you using RP. It appears I have to go through and completely re-do all of our previous turns to kick the program in the head and get it to use the adjusted file. I'll do this tomorrow - I don't have the ambition tonight.

Let me know if you spot any other mistakes. Winter 827 adjustments will be due on Wednesday. Cheers!

Folks of DC141,

Alex has asked me to temporarily step in as GM of the game once again while he gets his internet and technical capabilities back on track. My apologies to all of you, but it looks as though you're stuck with me for just a little bit longer.. =P

The last few turns have been a little turbulent, I know.. Hope you are all hanging in there however. Unfortunately, I cannot publish the Fall turn at the moment as I'm missing orders from Italy, France and Russia. I'm going to reset the Fall turn deadline to Tuesday, Apr 6th (11:59 PM GMT). However, in this instance I'll adjudicate earlier if I receive FINAL acknowledgements from all players...

One other note - there was some minor confusion as Alex published a Spring adjudication following mine in which a minor difference in the French orders was seen. Please go with my original adjudication - Alan had sent in an order revision that Alex did not receive. Specifically - the French fleet is in the West Med, NOT in North Africa.

Thanks for your patience and perseverance everyone. =P

DC176 - Anonymous Spring 1901 Press - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Here is some NOT so anonymous spring 1901 press.

I am unaware of any Central Powers Alliance. However if those powers want to join with me, I am sure I could use their forces.

I caught wind of some of the things being said about me. Although I have many, many, years of experience playing this game, I see now I might have a bit to learn about playing by email.

Yes I am a "maverick". I am also predictable in that I do what works and what is in my best interests.

I am use to playing with players around a table, where deals are often sealed with as little as a look or a nod. I think all this extra chatter is mostly noise. I do see that in this style of play, some might be needed.

I judge players by what they DO not what they say they will do.

I will not appologise for my "rude...." nature. I am just not one for big flowery letters.

I do expect to give you all a run for your money, and to enjoy playing a game I love.

Willie

DC170 spring 1903 results! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Plenty of action again this season, with movement occurring almost everywhere except in the far north. Austria moves to occupy both Venice and Warsaw, while Turkey pushes the Archduke out of Rumania. Russia fights the combined A/T to a standstill in Ukraine/Sev. France makes further inroads into the Mediterranean while Italy convoys an army back to the mainland. Germany moves fleets westward on the continent, but England pulls a Jutland and prevents the Kaiser from sailing into Helgoland Bight. France acts to protect his home centers, only one of which actually came under attack.

There are two summer 1903 retreats due tomorrow 4/9 at 3pm Pacific:

The Austrian army in Rumania may retreat to Budapest, Galicia, Serbia, or OTB.
The Italian fleet in Tyrrhenian Sea may retreat to Rome, Tunis, or OTB.

First of all, I apologise for the lack of themed press.. I am so tired and stretched so thin now that I just can't think of anything.

Secondly.. just today (hopefully) you will be getting the adjudication first and then a map later. Reason is just to my incredibly complicated life at the moment, I'm doing this at work so I just dont have the time to put into the map right now. In fact best to check my work as I'm often distracted being a primary (elementary) school teacher. Especially check the Builds and SC count.
