Once Within: New Archers! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
"Any NMR in the first year and I’ll replace"

I really didnt envision having to use this, but welcome to the game Jason L leading the Archers!
githraine(at)yahoo.com (githraine(at)yahoo.com)

(Note, dont confuse with Jason B of the Knights!)

Results will STILL be out tonight!

I have moves from all, and it's just a matter of time when I can get to the game, likely around 8pm when the kids are off to bed. So you're welcome to change up until then! Hard cutoff: 8pm Pacific today for any last minute revisions.

Enjoy,
-mike

Inquiring minds wanted to know…

********************************************
How would I handle NMR’s?

If you’ve either played in one of my games or read my house rules (www.sims-family.net/dip/houserules.htm) you’d already know! Expect results to go out same day of a deadline, come rain or shine… or fog. Any NMR in the first year and I’ll replace, after that, it’s most likely just an NMR but handled case by case. Given the players in this game, I don’t envision NMR’s will be a problem at all.

********************************************
What are the red arrows?

So that Rolf’s trolls may have a home, we can call them bridges! Even tho they’re not technically, they just mean the two spaces they point to are connected for direct movement (or support).

********************************************
How many SC are needed to win?

52. A full deck.
There are a total of 102 supply centers.

********************************************
Where are the space names from?

The names are taken from over 75 fantasy books, movies, shows, games, songs, places, mythologies, fairytales, folklore, and a few of them completely made up. The more you can relate to, the more you were probly a geek growing up!

Enjoy,

DC143 winter 1901 21-hour warning! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Thanks to everyone who has sent in their build orders; each of you should have received a confirmation e-mail reply from me. I am still missing orders from at least one player -- it would be a shame to miss out on your first builds! The deadline is tomorrow, March 4 at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT, just over 21 hours from now.

DC152 (wb0817) - Spring 09 - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Lots of movement in the board in Spring 1909.. Germany continues to refuse to lay down and die, France romps unopposed in the Med and England makes some interesting waves in the North.

One retreat to worry about before the Fall turn. The French were dislodged in Munich but have all of their eastern options to fall back to. Deadline for Summer will be set for Tuesday, March 4th (11:59 PM GMT).

Also, a DIAS (Draw Including All Survivors) has been proposed. I'll need a yay or nay vote from all of you surviving players on this one - that includes Italy. Deadline for the vote will be with the Fall orders on Thursday, but if I receive all Yes votes or a no vote before the Summer deadline I'll announce the result tomorrow. Lack of a vote will count as a 'nay'.

Just let me know if you spot an error. Cheers folks!

Due to a situation that has arisen there will be a short delay on adjudication. It will be completed and sent out by 7:30 AM EST at the LATEST!

On a related note: If you ever do not receive a results email within four hours of a deadline contact me IMMEDIATELY or simply check the game board: http://www.diplomaticcorp.com/game_page.php?game_id=dc149 I am not responsible for your moves not being submitted once I update the game website and send out the results email, especially in a tournament setting where deadlines are not subject to change.

Once With: Fall 01 all out! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
You should all have Fall 01 maps! If you don’t, come find me!

BUILDS due Thursday, tho I will post any time I have a full set.

Tho I may or may not state this in the future, any retreat or build phase can be released early, unless you specifically mark orders prelim or ask me to hold till the deadline. This is just to keep the game moving on these minor turns.

You will NOT get a new map for Winter – 2 maps per year: Spring and Fall. I’ll tell you what you build, and if you see any other units pop up, I’ll tell you that too, tho no new map will be forthcoming.

Enjoy!

Sorry about the recent NMRs, guys, but life intervenes sometimes. Based on what's left of Turkey, it might make sense to CD since the 3-way was rejected and Italy went with the E-G alliance. Let me know what you all think and I'll either play to the death or CD. Thanks.

DC125 GM EOG - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hello gang,

Tony's right on the mark on this game - I wish to add
the observation that if a player misses a move, he is
dead in the water in this version.

Apologies for my rapid demise - I had little choice
about leaving.

John

I loved this 8 yrs ago - still do.

--- JAFA <jafainri(at)hotmail.com> wrote:

A Lot of good critism on playablility.

As in the past, the game itself has been tweaked and
was still under scrutiny for it's layout. We finally
hit an undocumented feature where a unit was not
able to move to an adjacent sc. I did make the
appropriate fix but brings home the fact that it is
a developmental game type.

The Iran/Iraq situation. Done purposely as in
Austria/Italy on a standard game.

Cyprus needs adjusting without a doubt.

I would also change the Caspian Sea and make it land
lock only as any fleet there is either stuck or
controls it with no opposition.

I never did like how Tur and Mes up north can block
out anyone with a single unit. Although it reminds
me of Piedmont somewhat.

This game's inent was to be a smaller and faster
game. Somewhat like 4 player South America.
Something that would take 10 seasons to solo. So far
that part is working.

If the interest was there, I would almost try
readjusting. However, it took forever to fill this
game and most of the others if I recall. I don't see
it as a favorite in people's minds.

Yeah I think the only way this will end is with a EGI draw and a Turkey survival...I've proposed and voted for that draw a couple times, and I do so again. Everyone? Shall we call this? Turkey has played an admirable game, I don't see a reason to play it till the death.

Sorry about the recent NMRs, guys, but life intervenes sometimes. Based on what's left of Turkey, it might make sense to CD since the 3-way was rejected and Italy went with the E-G alliance. Let me know what you all think and I'll either play to the death or CD. Thanks.
