DC117 Clarification! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
The Turkish player submitted
his retreat to CON, which is not
a viable retreat.

If he had no other place to retreat to,
I would have allowed it as a 'brain fart'
and allowed his retreat to Bulgaria, however
he had two viable retreats; to Bulgaria and Albania.

As the adjudication has been posted, I have
disbanded his unit due to a 'Misorder'.

The decision is final.

Also, a Draw between Russia/Turkey does
not mean all others are eliminated accd. to DC Rules.

Apologies

Thank you.

dc119 Persistent Turtle - Crossroads - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Garry et al…

I would personally like to play on. It has been decades since I last played and viewed this game as warm up, re-introduction to future games on line. How it ends matters little to me. I just wanted some practice and I think Garry has done a super job.

Regards, Eric Mao -- Turkey

Subject: dc119 Persistent Turtle - Crossroads

All,
In response to Eddie's email attached - I guess this leaves us with several options [none of which we have discussed with previous NMR's which I will explain]:

1. Count Eddie as an ANARCHY [but Eddie will not be greylisted like I have the others because he discussed this previously] and move on with 3 countries in ANARCHY.

2. Try to find a replacement for Eddie. I have not suggested this for previous anarchies because I feel that it is unfair to the neighbors of the country who now may find themselves facing
a potentially hostile neighbor where they weren't previously. I feel a bit different about this one for two reasons: 1] were Eddie not at sea he could find a replacement; 2] three anarchies would
pretty much put this game in danger of a quick end [albeit a good one for those who hold strong].

3. Put forward some sort of draw scenarios.

Please note - I am NOT pre-disposed to any of these options. However, at this point I feel it fairest to let the remaining players decide our course. I will ONLY weigh in if one solution is
not the majority vote.

As a side note, Germany retreated to the NTH sea. Therefore, we can talk about builds and move forward quickly if that is the path chosen.

Dear all,

I'm afraid that I am going to have to waithdraw myself from this enjoyable game. As I've already mentioned to Garry, I've now started traing with the Royal Navy and I don't have the time to play anymore. Many apologies for this and I have had fun playing.

Cheers,

Eddie

R: Mos, Rum, Swe, Sev, -StP = 4; Loses 1.
T: Bud, Ser, +Tun, +Nap, Con, Ank, Smy = 7; Gains 2.

Peter - I need a retreat for F Bel. Note that you have two options - NTH or NRO [which is no retreat ordered which means disband so you can build elsewhere].

Orders for Builds/Removes will be contingent on that retreat. When I receive it, I will publish with a request for builds/removals. I expect to get a quick response from Peter and then will publish new deadlines for builds/removals and the next turn.

Note: I will be sending a map in a separate file - HOWEVER, the map will have the following inconsistencies:

* It will show the F Bel as disbanded....note that it is pending retreat.
* It wil show Russia's removal as A(Lvn). That is actually contingent on his request. I had to show something as removed for the program. Until he gives his remove request consider that as an A in place.

Should get interesting. AGAIN - APOLOGIZE FOR THE DELAY!!!!

To Heir is Human: s01 results! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
I’m sure you’ve been checkin your mail every 10 min since 2… but holidays and all ya know… Smile Happy Thanksgiving to all, and here’s some results for ya…

Great start! Can’t wait to see what happens next… Actually been a long time since I’ve seen France & Germany bounce in Burgundy. And what’s that in the Black Sea?

Next deadline: Fall ’01, Friday 11/30, 2pm Pacific.

If all 7 send in orders marked “final” I’ll adjudicate early… keep that in mind as you go, if you want to speed things along. Otherwise know I’ll never adjudicate early, deadlines will always be 1 week apart, and definitely encourage prelims from all, you can always change them up to the deadline.

Enjoy!

dc91 Game End!! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
DC91ers,

Thanks obviously to Mike who GM’ed like a star and helped answer my questions when I asked them.

So Russia’s story,

As soon as I saw some newbies joining the game I thought this was the one for me ( I had only 2 previous games of standard under my belt) and it was about time I got back to standard Diplomacy. Ron joined up and even before we were assigned our countries we agreed to form some form of alliance. It was this alliance that kept me in the game and eventually gave me a part of the 3-way.

So Austria and Russia had an agreement and it was from there that I tired to form some sort of alliance with Germany and England so that I could get into Turkey. I wanted to share Scandinavia with them. The opening moves from them were ok but Turkeys’ move was immediately aggressive and meant that my fleet was stranded in the Black Sea trying to support Sev. Germany and England moved in on stp after bouncing me out of Sweden. Then Germany stopped playing. It’s always a shame when this happens as it totally changed the game. I managed to side with Cory/England while we cleared up Germany and meanwhile in the South I managed to knock out Turkey with a lot of help from Italy and Austria.

It was then that I had to make a decision. I know a lot of players would have stabbed Austria as there were many opportunities for me to take unguarded centres from Ron. I am probably too honest for this game and honoured our agreement which resulted in the 3-way stalemate. Well done Ron on your first game and well done Cory for always being in with a shout of a solo until the very end. I hope to work with you both again.

Thanks again to Mike

Hi again folks,

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I've had the question come up as to whether I received everyone's preliminary orders from Josh for Winter 1902 adjustments or Spring 1903 orders.

The answer is - no. I received no prelims from Josh at all. My apologies, but any orders previously sent to Josh will need to be resent to me. Sorry for the inconvenience folks.

Cheers!

Hi Gents,

Apologies for not getting this out last night. Had a long drive and a busy day. Also, thanks everyone for your patience during this slight delay.

We have indeed found a new Turkey - just in time for American Thanksgiving. Please welcome Felix to the game. I'm sure some of you know him already, but for those that don't believe me that you now have a fine, dedicated player to helm your Sultan's forces. Felix's email address is < felixkamchung(at)mac.com ([email]felixkamchung(at)mac.com[/email])>

As for me, my name is Former Trout. I'll be stepping in just to help the game continue moving in Josh's absence. I will review and use Josh's house rules, so there should be no difference there. Hopefully we can ease this game back into a steady pace and deliver it back to Josh in one piece on his return. =P

I believe we are at the Winter 1902 turn and adjustments from Austria, England and France are due. To accommodate the weekend holiday our American mates are having, the deadline for Winter will be set for Monday, November 26th (11:59 PM GMT). HOWEVER - I will adjudicate early if all 3 sets of orders are received and marked 'FINAL'.

Cheers everyone. Once again, thank you for hanging in there and keeping the faith.

Jason B has graciously volunteered to take over in Germany in the absence of the previous Kaiser.

I am leaving on vacation starting Thursday, and Stephen has agreed to be the substitute GM while I'm gone. Since I am leaving so soon I will allow Stephen to set the next deadline, and please keep in mind that the time of day that orders are due are likely to change since Stephen and I are on opposite sides of the world. Smile

I will return on December 8th, and I look forward to see how things are doing. Good luck!

Also, here is the updated players list.

Dc113 - 46 Hour warning - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dc113 Winter 1904 is due Tuesday 27th, 9pm Australian EST.

I do not have moves from England or France.

ALSO! Please note that we are the next game to switch to the new forum system. If you go to the website (www.diplomaticcorp.com) and click on 'Message Board' at the top of the screen, you will find the forum (Dc113). I believe Mike Sims has posted some notes as to the steps required to sign up for it. If you have any trouble though, please just let me know.

(what does this mean to me, I hear you ask?)

well it means that instead of emailing the adjudication to the yahoo group i will send it you the Dc113 forum at www.diplomaticcorp.com

(will i still get it as an email?)

Yes you will.

(when is this happening?)
from winter 1904 onwards.
