dc119 - Persistent Turtle S03 Results - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Plagued by NMRs!

{sigh} Why did I ever name this game Persistent?
We are definitely not living up to the name. Two
more NMRs this turn. More repeats and we will
have more anarchies.

For those actively trying to play, I apologize. For those
missing, I do understand being busy in real life. I have
those issues too which sometimes make me a challenging
ally to have; HOWEVER, at least send in orders. It ruins
the game for the others.

Alas...

Ok. One retreat needed: England - A in Mos can retreat to War or Ukr.

Need that pretty soon please. Also, note that that unit currently doesn't
show on the map as it is pending a retreat order.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE NEXT DEADLINE:
I want to make it this coming Sunday October 28th at 5pm CST. That will give
me time to get orders done and send out a message for retreats/builds/removes
to be due on Monday the 29th. I go out of town for a week starting that Tuesday
and the other alternative would be to set the next deadline two weeks from today.
I can go either way but prefer the deadline mentioned above. If there is a major
concern over this PLEASE send me an email.

Email to follow with map.

Imperial1840 game - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
To the folks who have signed up for the next World game, it's being put
on hold for a bit, and will be replaced at the moment by another huge
world map, Imperial1840... Designed by Master Cartographer Jerry Todd,
we are honored to have this original variant be run here in DC.

www.diplomaticcorp.com?game_id=re004

If you'd like to join, you can find it at re004, however I won't put you
in by default as it's a totally different game.

We're expecting the 17-player World will be reactivated after this
Imperial game starts, later in the year. I'll keep this list of names
and send out an update if/when it does. If there is continued interest
in the World game, let me or Steve know...

DC112 winter 1905 results and spring 1906 deadline - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Winter 1905 arrives, and everyone but Austria builds new units -- including fleets for both France and Russia.

The deadline for spring 1906 orders will be next Tuesday 10/30 at 3pm Central (US). A little reminder for everyone, 2007 marks the first year when the US does not "fall back" to standard time until the first Sunday in November, a week later than past practice, so there is no change relative to GMT yet.

An endgame proposal has also been introduced, a DIAS. Please cast your vote along with your spring 1906 orders; not voting is the same as voting "NO". All endgame proposals require a unanimous "YES" to succeed.

-----

Winter 1905 results:

France:
Build F Brest

Germany:
Build A Munich

Italy:
Build A Rome

Russia:
Build A Warsaw
Build F St Petersburg(nc)

Hi folks,

Just felt like sending out a gentle reminder that the Spring 10 deadline for Tears Of Cassandra was a short one this week. Orders are due in just over 21 hours - I have 2 out of 4 sets in and am looking for those other 2.

Thanks all!

Hi guys,

Just sending out my regular claxon that orders for Fall 1865 are due in just over 45 hours. I currently am still missing 5 sets, even with the long extension. So I'm a little worried. Please help keep me from messing myself and check to ensure that you have a confirmation of receipt for your orders. No confirmation, please resend. =)

DC116 Vogon's Revenge - Fall 1905 - Time And Space - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
With eagerness, the new Kaiser stepped in
His troops moving West for the win
But the Russians were hungry
Losing Austria-Hungary
So thoughts of defense were tossed in the bin

Yup - a punishing turn for Germany as Mikael receives a not-so-warm welcome to the game. The Russians storm into Kiel and Munich while the Italians move unopposed into Marseilles. Keeping Russia in check in the south, however, Austria takes Budapest and Austria trades Trieste for Vienna.

Three retreats are required after the Fall moves - the German in Kiel, the Russian in Vienna and the Turk in the Tyrrhenian all need to find a new home. Deadline for Early Winter 1905 retreats will be set for Thursday, October 25th (11:59 PM GMT).

If you guys spot any errors, please just let me know. Thanks for all the patience over the last week and a half or so. Cheers all!

Variant Games Seeking Players - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi folks,

We still have quite an exciting line-up of variant games awaiting players to sign up before they can launch. These variant games are an exciting part of Diplomaticcorp, and I promise that you won't regret signing up for any of them. =)

We have multiple flavors on tap. Two playtests of brand new variants which have never been seen before include:

re006 - Wheel of Time / Robert Jordan variant playtest
The Wheel weaves as the Wheel will - but you can help it get started by signing up to be the seventh player in this game based on the classic Robert Jordan series. Quite a bit of the flavor of the books are captured in the variant rules, and this game looks like a promising one.

re004 - 1840 Imperial variant playtest
A slimmed down version of the insanely huge Imperial variant currently firing on all cylinders in DC-110, this version was created by DC's very own Jerry Todd. The map looks amazing, the game looks exciting, and we only need 3 more players before all systems are go.

Our other two variants being offered up are from everyone's favorite GM Felix.

re003 - Modern with Wings. Ever been playing and said something along the lines of 'This game would kick ass with airplane units.' Felix has you covered and needs 4 more players to take the plunge in his Wings game.

re002 - Gunboat Standard. Sounds more complicated than it really is - Essentially this is just a fast paced game where only Felix knows who is playing what positions. Builds are allowed on any center you control and, if you're stuck with a pesky fleet when you need an army, transformation rules allow you to change it. This one needs so if you're interested, drop Felix a line.

In addition, we have several more variants waiting for the above games to launch. Be brave, be daring. Play a version of Dip you've never tried before. Who knows - you might like it. =)

Cheers folks!

Dc113 - NOT HAPPY GM (sent to all) - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dear Dc113 players,

Can we say Not Happy? Deadline has been and gone, 24 hour grace period has been and gone AND i am still missing too many
set of moves. Since I am a new GM for this game, I am allowing a special extended grace period to last another 24 hours.

however this is ALSO what is going to happen...

1) I am going to send this message to all players individually to make sure they are receiving it (relabelled as sent to one)
If you are GERMANY, TURKEY, ITALY I suggest you reply to it.

2) Make sure your email filter is not putting the group email (labelled - sent to all) into JUNK or BULK email. This could
be happening because there are many email receipients in the email to all, it could think it is junk. Alternatively add my email address
stevelytton(at)hotmail.com (stevelytton(at)hotmail.com) to your safe list.

3) At the www.diplomaticcorp.com website - go to the message board and sign up for the Dc113 Forum. I email all the
adjudications there along with a map. If you sign up for the subscription feed, you will get the adjudication sent to you from there
as well. It wont hurt to double up.

4) The current map can always be found at www.diplomaticcorp.com?game_id=dc113 so you can always check it there.

5) I will always reply to your emails within 24 hours of you sending them AND i will always sent some sort of message out
within 24 hours of an adjudication. So if you dont hear anything - check with me.

Finally I am awaiting moves from :-

England
germany
Italy
Turkey

and we are going for Fall 1902.

Deadline, according to my clock is approximately 24 hours away (I might watch Heroes and then adjudicate)

DC125 Back on Track - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Here is the Roster and Special Rules.... Deadline for Spring 2000 is next Friday November 2nd (at)5PM EST (-5GMT)

I am pretty Liberal GM. If I can figure it out then it works for me. All Adjudications are in EST (-5 GMT).
Also you should put in subject line the following format: GAMEID: Season year country .. Ex: DC125: Spring 2000 Isreal:
I will send out a separate map and list of abbreviations to avoid confusion:

Special Game Considerations: .

1. Istanbul functions identically to standard Constantinople. Fleets can not
pass from AEG-BLA (canal)

2. Egypt functions identically to standard Constantinople. Fleets can not
pass from EMed-Red (canal)

3. SAS is a water+land region. Armies can not move onto the south shore of
SAS. Fleets may enter and exit SaS from Aqa, Ela, Sin, and Red.
Armies may enter and exit only from Ela and Sin.

4. Fleets may pass from RED-PER.

5. A Fleet must go through Ist to get to BUL.

6. Convoys THROUGH any of the 2 canal spaces (IST and EGY) are in order for this game.

7. Fleets may not be built on the Dead Sea or the lake bordering Tabriz.

8. 14 SC are required to win the game.

A new GM.
A new variant.
By a guy new to making variants.

What could possibly go wrong?

I had some wood around here somewhere.

anyway...

I liked the "flavor" of Imperial, but wanted something a little easier to play. Fewer players, fewer supply centers, standard rules, easier to GM, and a map you didn't mind looking at (I love maps).

So, "Mr Sulu, ahead, warp factor one."

Got them early, so here they are! Spring 1905 due Monday Oct. 29th, 9
pm eastern. Dirk brought up the issue that if you are a new player
(this is your first game in dc), I apparently may have to approve you to
play in further games (I'm still waiting to hear the full facts on this
and I'll keep you updated); if any of you want me to do this just ask
and I will do so. In fact if possible I will just blanket approve all
of you; again I'll keep you updated once I get the details from the admins.
