I know a couple of you have submitted orders for this turn already, but since we've been idle for so long I might suggest that it's a good idea to resubmit.

DC116 vogon's Revenge - Winter 1905 - As The Stars... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
The Sultan recruited during winter lull.
In Constantinople building new fleets hull.
For a second build he wrote no song
For he found the GM wrong
All other centers being already full.

----------------------------------------------------

Yeah, sorry about that error in the last adjudication folks. Turkey did gain two builds but could only build one due to occupied centers. The Sultan opts for a fleet in Con while the Tsar matches him with a fleet in Sev. In addition, Italy builds a fleet in Rome, Russia uses his second build in Warsaw and Germay disbands in Ruhr, Holland and Helgoland Bight.

That there be the Winter of 1905. Please shout out if you spot any adjudication errors please. Spring 1906 order deadline will be set for the end of this week, on Friday, November 2nd (11:59 PM GMT.)

Cheers!

Live 002! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Live 1 on the books, time to think about Live 2! Any suggestions for dates? A few are suggested here:

http://www.diplomaticcorp.com/variants/live.htm

This time we want to have 7 or more that are definite confirms... maybe's wont count. Smile To encourage that, we can make the date flexible.

I was thinking a 12 noon (california) start time, 2 hours earlier than last time to give the folks in Europe a start around 7-9pm.

Re: Live 002! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
What about starting a little earlier here in America so the Europeans don't have to play into the night? Penger is the only active Aussie, right? He'd be the only one affected by the earlier American start time, no?

I am interested in playing... but am unsure of my availability in the next couple of weeks. I'll keep my eye on this though.

I considered 10am, but knowing how most Americans are about getting out of bed on Saturday morning, I wasn't sure it'd be too popular. Definitely an option if ppl are up for it!

I guess 10am is only pacific... that's 1pm eastern. Ok yeah...

I'd like to jump right back into this, but unfortunately our English commander has notified me that he'll have to leave us. What I would like to do is put our choices up to a vote. It seems like it's too early in the game to call a draw; however that is a choice that you may all make at any point in the game, but I see our choices as follows.

1. Proceed with England in Civil Disorder.

2. Seek a replacement for England, pausing further until a player is found.

What does everyone think? Any other suggestion you'd like to voice? Let me know.

Dc102 End of Game - Germany - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
End of Game Statement - Germany.

First of all a thankyou to Kevin for taking over the GMing of this game.

This game started off well for me with most of my neighbours responding well to opening emails. France seemed
a little slow to respond to emails and i quickly enter into negiotations with england and italy to make a three way
opening on france. I had worked out neutrality with russia and austria and i seemed in a good position.

France moved strangely in 1901 and our opening moves to english channel, bugundy and piedmont saw France get no
builds in 1901 and was eliminated in 1902. The plan was for our alliance to then turn east. Trusting my allies i move east against
russia with england but we did not see Italy moving as quickly as we liked on Austria.

With Russia and turkey showing weakness in the east, Austria quickly grew into a dominant force and Italy was still
reluctant to move against him. After talking with England, and with suspicions of my own, we suspected an Italian-Austrian
alliance and I made arrangements with England for both of us to move on Italy. However I suspect that James had
convinced trout to move against me as just after i attacked Italy - england backstabbed me viciously. Too viciously though
as England was now looking like a power player and Italy seemed nervous about how big he had got. Trout and i passed
back many IM and emails and we agreed on an alliance until England was at least contained. I would like to think I made
some clever moves on england, allowing myself to take back some of my territory and push england back.

However with the demise of russia and turkey and no resistance in the south, Austria had grown and suddently struck on
my weak southern flank, threatening Munich and taking warsaw off me. Again i scrambled - throwing old alliances out and
james and i started talking about the powerful threat of an Austrian-Italian allaince. Whilst I believed i was allied with Italy at this
point, Italy was very reluctant to move against Austria so it was easy to convince James we need to re-ally.

It took a lot of trust on both James and my part to form our alliance again, and i thank James for that but he did prove a loyal ally

I believe England and I were well on our way to stalemating Austria-iTaly forcing the inevitable draw.

DC112 spring 1906 delay - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Since Dorian had not received the most recent adjudication, I'm going to push back the current deadline. If no one objects, I'll set the new spring 1906 deadline for this Friday 11/2, still at 3pm Central (US). I know this is an odd day, but it's the only way to (1) give everyone a few days to diplom and (2) avoid delaying the game an entire week, as I won't do a Monday deadline.

If the Friday deadline is a problem for anyone, please let me know. Thanks. And don't forget to vote on the DIAS proposal with your orders!

Cory

GGS 1264 / DC110 - NMR Policy Change Scrapped - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Hi guys and gal,

All righty. The response to the NMR Policy implementation has been overwhelmingly negative, so its dead in the water. We will continue with my replacement policy as it currently stands in my house rules. (I've attached a copy for Jim's sake, and in case any of you have misplaced yours. =P )

Thank you for all of your opinions. It is actually a relief to me to see that NMR's are not preferred - my feelings on them mirror yours as well.

Cheers all,

Trout

Thank goodness all that's over - now we can get back watching Austria choke on himself.
