DC101 - Update - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Probably will be.. but if we don't stop Turkey now, most importantly austria making a move. They will get a solo for sure, and then it really doesn't matter if I own Bre or not.. but hopefully England will be kind enough not to attack me and to focus on stopping Turkey before it is too late.

Thank you all for waiting on this game... between fires, and vacations it's been a little while.
I'd like to jump right back into this, but unfortunately our English commander has notified me that he'll have to leave us. What I would like to do is put our choices up to a vote. It seems like it's too early in the game to call a draw; however that is a choice that you may all make at any point in the game, but I see our choices as follows.
1. Proceed with England in Civil Disorder.
2. Seek a replacement for England, pausing further until a player is found.
What does everyone think? Any other suggestion you'd like to voice? Let me know.

DC123 Shade Of The Bonsai - Fall 1573 - The Wheat - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
From the Twenty-One Precepts of Hojo Soun:
Walk stealthily where still under the arch of heavan.
-----------------------------
The Tsunami waves rise along the coastlines of Japan, as do the currents and eddies on the island itself. The Takeda decimate the Hojo in the north-east and manage to thwart the Asakura plans at the same time. However, the Oda do take their pound of flesh in Noto. Fleets take to the seas to the south and to the north, and in Tosa, the occupying Shimazu retainers tear down the last Chosokabe banners...
My thanks to Mike for coming in to play out the Chosokabe position. It was a difficult role - but valiantly played. =)
Onwards we move, to Winter 1573. All powers have at least one adjustment to make. Deadline will be set for Monday, November 5th (11:59 PM GMT.) As always, please let me know if you spot any adjudiation errors.
And a point of useless trivia.. Up until this adjudication, all subject headers have been coming from the soundtrack of the Last Samurai. Starting with this adjudication, I've spun up a different CD.
Cheers all!

Hi All
That’s handy
I’ve just got the phones power and internet back on at this site I’m working on that why no one has heard from me in the last couple of days. All the telecommunications are run by microwave systems and the towers tend to get hit by lightning around this time of year.

DC123 - Fall 1573 Adjudication Correction - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Hi folks,
Thanks to the Asakura for pointing out an adjudication error. The move from Echizen to Hida bounced whereas I had annotated it in the written adjudication as succeeding. I believe the map was correct, however. Also, in the commentary, I foolishly mixed the Oda and Asakura positions. It was the Oda that ran into the Takeda wall in the north-east, whereas the Asakura navigated their way into Noto in the north-west.
My apologies for that, guys. Corrected written adjudication is below.
Cheers,
Trout

Thank you all for waiting on this game... between fires, and vacations it's been a little while.I'd like to jump right back into this, but unfortunately our English commander has notified me that he'll have to leave us. What I would like to do is put our choices up to a vote. It seems like it's too early in the game to call a draw; however that is a choice that you may all make at any point in the game, but I see our choices as follows.1. Proceed with England in Civil Disorder. 2. Seek a replacement for England, pausing further until a player is found. What does everyone think? Any other suggestion you'd like to voice? dc130 Imperial1840 ~ map error - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Nice catch Dan. Ok, Birma doesn't border the Gulf of Siam, ie no East coast. I fixed the map BMP and unloaded a new zip file to
http://mainecav.org/diplomacy/rp_imperial1840.zip.
It's a drawing error, so was easy to fix. Reason number 27 why you don't proof your own work.
The enlarged maps have also been updated:

DC112 spring 1906 results! - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
First things first, the DIAS proposal fails!
An interesting turn, as nearly every ordered move succeeds. Russia supports Italy into Serbia and follows up by moving into Budapest himself. Italy makes a supported move to Western Med, only to find that the French fleet was already on the move to North Africa. Germany pushes eastward, and Russia's northern forces move into the fray.
One retreat is due, the lone Austrian army, which can only retreat to Albania. Jason, I have taken the liberty of ordering that retreat.
For the fall, we have another endgame proposal, a 4-way draw among everyone except Austria. Please cast your vote on this proposal along with your fall 1906 orders, which will be due Thursday 11/8 at 3pm Central (US). Daylight time ends this weekend in the US, so for some of you, this upcoming deadline is an hour earlier.

Dc 113 Grace period France. - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
I cannot find moves from France or Turkey.
Since, according to my records - France has not used a grace period with me.. I am giving France 24 hours to submit moves. This also benefits turkey who has used his grace period but now has some extra time to submit moves.
Any other player is welcome to change their moves.
I will adjuducate in 24 hours OR as soon as I recieve french moves, whichever is sooner.

Re: Current Game Deadlines - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Hi guys,
Just had a thought tonight. Maybe we could have a field on the active game page for the GM to write down the current game turn and deadline. That might help the players a little.
Minor detail - thought I might as well bring it up though.

There is now a spot to enter the Current Season (year and month) in the game header.
