DC173 OK Computer - Early Winter 1905 - The Touris... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
The clocks tick and whir and our Italian cog spins himself out of the fray. Jack sends his fleet to Albania to head off the Turkish retreat there, resulting in a disband of both units. Meanwhile Austria slips smoothly into Naples and England makes for Livonia.

My thanks to Jack for stepping into a very tough position, and playing it out with such spunk. It was a pleasure to have you in the game, bro. =P

Meanwhile, the Italian maneuver changes the build counts up a little. Revised Winter adjustments are below - we'll set the deadline for Wednesday, July 2nd (11:59 PM GMT).

Cheers folks!

let's not reinvent the wheel. send out an email to all of the registered members asking them to update their city and state. i haven't played the board game since the middle 80s...I MISS IT PEOPLE!

i bet if people played the game in person, with all the snacks, kids running around, we would play the online game MORE.

oh the humanity of it all.

count my girlfriend and i in for a game in new orleans, all the way to baton rouge 50 miles away. this is dedication people.

our house is so big we could have 3 games going on at once and never see the same people.

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our Intrepid Jack, Archduke of Austria.
He stuck out an untennable position for longer then he had any right to.
Jack, thank you. You are welcome in any game I GM, any time.
As Italy and Russia push both Austrian units out, they can both retreat, but will of course disband in the build phase.
France has 2 retreats, and no options to them, so I have ordered:
A Brest - Gascony
A Paris - Burgundy
As France loses 2 units this turn, they can obvoiusly be OTB, or simply disbanded as required.

Which brings me to the last 2 items, Builds and Press. What? Did he say Press? What is that?
Our game (and many on DC) have experianced broken printing presses for quite some time, but our new Kaiser has fired them up again!

PRESS
Berlin Non-Democrat Gazette: A new Chancellor is sworn into office and, even as the oath was done, had this say: "Rest assured, this German Chancellor shall not build random fleets to go fishing through the Baltic Sea. While the new Chancellor recognizes that the influx of fresh fish has been good for his portly people [to whom the caloric beer is table water], it is time to move around a bit and see what other delicious foodstuffs can be found."

In similar news, a new fad can be found in Munich dining halls this Fall - wine! The migration of illegal Italian armies has brought with it a shift from the dark brooding beer halls to corner cafes, wine, and sharp-dressed German men [yes, we know...this reporter had to go visit Munich himself to believe it...after all, Munich IS the show-me-city!]. When asked to comment, the new Chancellor simply had this to say: "While we all love the laid back Italians, one has to believe that the Army simply got LOST when on maneuvers in the Alps. As we all know, they simply are too lazy to have actually mounted an offensive. Rumor has it that Munich's mayor has ALWAYS been a bit of a fashionista and just couldn't resist the thought of getting an Armani suit of his own. I am sure that he just let them in through the back door and, voila! - we have illegal Italians everywhere."

France: Remove 2
Germany: Build 1

Subject: HAPPY CANADA DAY, EH!!!

To all you crazy Canucks and wanna-be toque-wearers out there, Happy Canada Day!!!

The beer has been drunk, the fireworks have gone off and the bars are beginning to get trashed! Hope all you cool cats have a great first of July! (We start partying that much earlier than our American brothers and sisters, eh....)

Seriously though, have a great day everyone. Cuz if you don't, you'll all get jersied, pelted with Timbits and called a Hoser! (And if you understand what all three of those things are, you're either Canuck or a Canuck-at-heart.)

Now where's that beer, eh? =P

Your bud,

Trout

Gary is correct, I can only plead an RP fat finger.
The German Fleet sailed from Livonia into the Baltic, not the Gulf of Bothnia.

it was a pleasure playing with you all...until we meet again (probably in dc195, World War IV, seems like everyone on from diplomaticcorp is in that game) keep your knives sharper and watch your back....trout, i'm still on the standby list if you need me for anymore positions..mercy or otherwise...

Once Within - Fall 07 update! - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Once again a day goes by without results, you wonder why…
Your GM is a busy guy! And couldn’t run the turn before.
But do not fret this game delayed, with visions straight and courses stayed
We get back to the fields frayed and scattered full of elven lore
Of hidden moves in wooded lands that only serves to underscore
That in this game, they are no more.
