It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our Intrepid Jack, Archduke of Austria.
He stuck out an untennable position for longer then he had any right to.
Jack, thank you. You are welcome in any game I GM, any time.
As Italy and Russia push both Austrian units out, they can both retreat, but will of course disband in the build phase.
France has 2 retreats, and no options to them, so I have ordered:
A Brest - Gascony
A Paris - Burgundy
As France loses 2 units this turn, they can obvoiusly be OTB, or simply disbanded as required.

Which brings me to the last 2 items, Builds and Press. What? Did he say Press? What is that?
Our game (and many on DC) have experianced broken printing presses for quite some time, but our new Kaiser has fired them up again!

PRESS
Berlin Non-Democrat Gazette: A new Chancellor is sworn into office and, even as the oath was done, had this say: "Rest assured, this German Chancellor shall not build random fleets to go fishing through the Baltic Sea. While the new Chancellor recognizes that the influx of fresh fish has been good for his portly people [to whom the caloric beer is table water], it is time to move around a bit and see what other delicious foodstuffs can be found."

In similar news, a new fad can be found in Munich dining halls this Fall - wine! The migration of illegal Italian armies has brought with it a shift from the dark brooding beer halls to corner cafes, wine, and sharp-dressed German men [yes, we know...this reporter had to go visit Munich himself to believe it...after all, Munich IS the show-me-city!]. When asked to comment, the new Chancellor simply had this to say: "While we all love the laid back Italians, one has to believe that the Army simply got LOST when on maneuvers in the Alps. As we all know, they simply are too lazy to have actually mounted an offensive. Rumor has it that Munich's mayor has ALWAYS been a bit of a fashionista and just couldn't resist the thought of getting an Armani suit of his own. I am sure that he just let them in through the back door and, voila! - we have illegal Italians everywhere."

Builds:

Diplomacy games may contain lying, stabbing, or deliberately deceiving communications that may not be suitable for and may pose a hazard to young children, gullible adults, and small farm animals.
