NNIGTFML f1842 (possum warfare) - packrat   (Jan 25, 2010, 4:35 pm)
Sorry guys - stuff came up. being unemployed just sucks.

FWIW - had I submitted orders the only thing that would have changed
is that the fleet in BDA would now be in ANT. LAP and SRZ would
still have fallen. Actually, the support for ANT to POT would have been
cut too. Oh well.

Retreat the fleet OTB and disband the army.

NNIGTFML s1842 results! - FuzzyLogic   (Jan 19, 2010, 3:21 pm)
With only one retreat option, the Brasilian army in Rio is nudged over to Salvador - Fredrik if you prefer otherwise let me know w/in 24 hrs or the adjudication stands! This leaves us in the ever-so-pleasant position of skipping to the fall turn, which we'll make due Monday 1/25, 3pm Central! This turn it looks like the PC team continues their push north, while the disjointed empire of Colombia fails to rally their neighbors under new management.

Enjoy,

I ran the orders on my own and the map I have is attached. Use
it or not, it's up to you. Perhaps Mike can give it his seal of approval.

You know what they say, it's better to kill two llamas with one stone than two Argentinians with a multinational invasion.

NEXT: Fall 1839 due next Monday 11/30, 3pm Central / 2100 GMT!

There was one retreat, but Brazilian A Santa Cruz could only retreat to Mato Grosso. Fredrik may confirm this or choose OTB by Wed 2100 GMT, else the adjudication stands. (sorry for the late adjudication guys!)

[quote:b884db5f74] Prelims.

Today let's take a look at this word, since many of you have not actually submitted these yet, despite a number of days having passed. Nobody is late, there are no NMRs to speak of, but there are still some things lacking - namely, the use of prelim orders.

Pre-Lim

Pre: Coming Before, or preceeding

Lim: An acronym for the latin, "Latesus Isthus Movessus", aka LIM.

(Some would argue that Pre is derived from the latin "Probablus Reallyus Earlius" however this is a common misconception, since there is no probability in sending orders early. They will prevent you from being late 100% of the time, without exception)

So Pre-Lims are what you send in BEFORE your orders are late. Sometimes even early.

Sometimes they will be premature. After all, Premautre and Prelims start with the same syllable, namely the pre. Premature in the case of Diplomacy is not bad, it is simple pre (prior to) Lim (latesus isthus movessus), or, not being late. Prelim orders can always be changed, up until the deadline.

Enjoy.

Okay gents,
I'm not sure about the rest of you, but Peru AND Venezuela BOTH being blue
AND BOTH having the letter U as symbol has been bugging me and now that
they are in close proximity it is more distracting then before.

I edited the CNT file in the SAS variant folder of the RP program so the Peru
is now black and Venezuela has Z as the designator.

Up to you if you want to change it or not, but here it is.

That’s what happens when you’re running multiple games. It becomes quite difficult to keep one’s llamas separate from one’s fairytales separate from one’s tournaments. In this particular case, llamas pillaged the tournament in a fairytale. But like all good stories, it comes to a happy end as we do here, with correct maps.

If you’d like I can loan you a copy of my llamaphonics. V’s have a pointy bottom. U’s have a curved or flat bottom.

Okay gents,
I'm not sure about the rest of you, but Peru AND Venezuela BOTH being blue
AND BOTH having the letter U as symbol has been bugging me and now that
they are in close proximity it is more distracting then before.

I edited the CNT file in the SAS variant folder of the RP program so the Peru
is now black and Venezuela has Z as the designator.

Up to you if you want to change it or not, but here it is.
