DC127 - New GM reporting for Duty - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Mike, I was not able to locate the check box to subscribe to the dc127 message board. Will that become available once the game officially starts?

Cory

Dear Players,

My name is Doug and I am happy to announce that I'm to be your GM for the game, efficiently and enticingly titled: DC127.

I have only signed up to the Diplomatic Corp today, but I have been active on the redscape diplomacy site since early this year as a both player and GM. I shall be sticking with the house rules that Mike previously sent you (link: http://www.sims-family.net/dip/houserules.htm) and propose that the game shall conform to the following format:

Spring / Fall Orders due: Tuesdays 3pm GMT
Retreats due: Wednesdays 3pm GMT
Winter Adjustments: (every other) Thursday 3pm GMT

I shall endeavour to post 24 hour warnings for each deadline, but this should not be relied apon, and will usually post maps & results within two hours of the deadline (updated orders will be accepted at my discretion up to the time of actually adjudicating the turn).

Mike has forwarded me the list of players and as I understand it, we have the following seven confirmed and ready to play:

(If there is any error on this list, perhaps Mike can inform me as soon as possible)

As I do not yet have preferences from all players (those I do have are listed above) I shall give you all until 3pm on this coming Monday, 30th October to get prefs to me, or to update those you have sent in already; at which point I shall assign you all your countries. I propose then that the deadline for Spring 1901 orders, shall be due to me just over a week later, on Tuesday 7th November at 3pm GMT, and we shall then take it from there.

Please don't hesitate to mail me with any questions you might have - I shall do my best to respond as soon as possible. I should mention that you can supply me with as many updates of your orders as you wish, prelims are very welcome - the sooner the better: You can always change them. I GM and play in a number of games from this email address, so when sending in your orders, if you can format your subject header as follows, I'd be really grateful as it makes it all much easier to administrate:

eg.
Subject: DC127 - Austria - Spring 01 Version 1

(Obviously use the name of your own power, the relevant Season, year and version number Smile)

I'm thoroughly looking forward to seeing what brand of fiendish and underhand behaviour, as well as examples of stiff-lipped loyalty and heart-melting generosity Wink you are all capable of in the coming weeks.

French F Bre can retreat to Gas or OTB
I'm assuming Russia will retreat from Ukraine to Moscow, as he would only have to build there anyway if he retreated off the board.

Please get those to me in the next 24 hours. Defaults will be Gas and Mos.

As usual, I'll post the official build/disband instructions with the retreats, which are due to me no later than 3pmGMT on Thursday - although you can send them to me as soon as you like:
Austria - Build 1
England - Build 2
France - Disband 2 (unless A Bre retreats OTB, in which case disband 1)
Germany - Even
Italy - Even
Russia - Build 1!
Turkey - Even

REMEMBER THAT IF YOU DO NOT SEND BUILD ORDERS YOU DO NOT GET THE UNITS! (also remember Dave, if you are ordering a fleet build in St Petersburg, you'll need to specify which coast you are building on, or your order will also be forfeit!)

Thanks one and all for getting your orders in on time.

Kind regards
Doug

dc127 timing oddity - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
For those of you wondering about my moves, I sent in prelims this time, with the intent of "fixing" my orders before the deadline. However, in converting the 3pm GMT deadline to my local time, I apparently miscounted by an hour.

One retreat due to me no later than 3pm GMT tomorrow (Wednesday): Austrian A Munich can retreat to Silesia or Bohemia.

A note on submitting orders: It is common courtesy to supply your orders in their own email with the subject header listing the game name (DC127) followed by the name of your power and the season for which you are ordering - lastly include the version incase you update them

ie: DC127 German orders Fall 06 V1

If you supply your orders to me in this manner it really helps administrating the game...
also - its always worth double-checking your orders before sending.

Once again - sorry to keep you waiting for the Winter maps. Orders for Spring 06 due to me next Tuesday 22nd Jan by 3pm GMT. I have had a couple of questions regarding the winning conditions of the game. FYI:
The ownership of 18 centres at the end of the Fall/Autumn turn is required for the solo. A draw can be proposed any time after 1905 as far as I am concerned; this may include all survivors (a DIAS) - or could be in favour of any particular alliance. Any 'NAY' vote would mean we play on. Only one draw proposal per game year.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to get in touch.

Kind regards

German Fleet Den can retreat to the Baltic Sea or OTB (Off-The-Board)

If Cory can let me know either way, I'll post it up as soon after I get it as I can. I'm assuming a retreat to Bal, which will be the default retreat at 3pm tomorrow if I don't hear anything

Dear Players,

Firstly please let me apologise for the tardiness of the adjudication and wish you all a belated happy new year.

Turkeys' consecutive NMR means that what is left of the power falls into civil disorder and all units will simply hold from now on. England did not specify a coast for his order of Portugal to Spain, but it would have made little difference, as the French would have destroyed it anyway. The orders - as submitted are as follows

DC127 - Fall 03 Adjudicated AGAIN - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Dear Players,

Please find attached the re-adjudication for Fall 03.

I had previously neglected to include France order of A Par S A Bre. With this added it means that England's A Bre is destroyed and the only retreat is a default Russian A Ukr - Mos which I have also attached.

The only adjustment changed are that France removes 1 unit rather than 2. England still gets two builds, as he lost the army on the continent.

WINTER 1903

AUSTRIA SC 6 Unit 5 = Build 1
ENGLAND SC 5 Unit 3 = Build 2
FRANCE SC 4 Unit 5 = Remove 1

GERMANY EVEN
ITALY EVEN
RUSSIA SC 5 Unit 4 = Build 1
TURKEY EVEN

Please let me have those adjustments at your earliest convenience. Due to my misguided early posting of the retreats we are still on schedule, but I would really appreciate it if you could send your adjustments as soon as possible, or resend them as soon as possible, even if you already have, in light of this update.

Sorry to have been an inconvenience and many thanks to the player whose persistence ensured this didn't pass unnoticed!
