DC138 Winter Of Our Discontent - Fall 2010 - You D... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
On the bright side, the revenge you’ve allowed the Quebecians to reap unto NY has provided no shortage of enjoyment. The Quebecians plan a formal tribute to the Heartland when NYC finally falls. At a minimum, there will have to be large floats, possibly some balloons with words upon them, and a huge statue of the NY leader, as the words float into his mouth and the robotic actuators make his jaw chew.

The fortune cookie for Fall 2010 lets us know that "What you left behind is more mellow than wine." ...

But tell that to California, as he gets jumped by almost every remaining power on the board. The southern state holds its own though, ensuring some quality shore-leave time for their troops in Hawaii. Meanwhile, Cuba and Florida once again trade centers and the the Big Apple continues to be chewed down to its core...

Sadly, we bid farewell to our Heartland dicatator with this round. Andy, you came, you conquered, you left us too soon... My thanks for playing this one out right to the bitter bitter. =)

Two retreats needed, as well as a third from the Heartland if Andy so chooses. Deadline for Early Winter 2010 retreats will be set for Saturday, June 14th (11:59 PM GMT).

Cheers! Let me know if you spot any errors..

Thanks Andy, and sorry I couldn't keep you alive through all this - who'd have thought Rob would give up NYC so easily?

DC138 Winter Of Our Discontent - Early Winter 2010... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
And with the Autumn retreats comes the following fortune: "An alien of some sort will be appearing to you shortly!"

As they say - in space no-one can hear you say "huh?"... Putting aside the bizarre fortune, however, we find California disbanding in San Antonio and BC retreating to the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Deadline for Winter 2010 will be set for Monday, June 16th (11:59 PM GMT). Builds are owed from BC, California and Mexico..

Cheers folks!

Our future-telling sage says of Spring 2011 - "Hell is paved with good intentions."

Good to know that at the end of all things, we might still be able to park our cars.. =) Things are definitely nowhere near the end in our little struggle, however, as BC and California continue to trade blows, and Florida casts their Miami-Heat eyes to the north.

Three retreats are required after this round - two from California and one from BC. We'll set the Summer 2011 deadline for Monday, June 23rd (11:59 PM GMT). As always, please let me know if you spot any errors.

Cheers!

DC138 Winter Of Our Discontent - Summer 2011 - It'... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Despite the falling-back nature of the turn, our fortune cookie for this round is surprisingly upbeat: You will receive a fortune. (cookie)

Of course, it could just have been written by a bloke with an all-too-literal sense of humour. =P

In any event, Manitoba, San Francisco and the Mid Atlantic are the fall-back positions for BC and California. Which means we move forwards into the Fall of 2011. Deadline will be set for Saturday, June 28th (11:59 PM GMT). After this, we will try to squeeze the winter adjustments in - but please note that one of our company will be on vacation from July 2nd to July 16th. The Spring 2012 turn will most likely be scheduled for a couple days after the middle of the month.

Cheers folks,

I'll agree to what ever ends this game prior to July 6th... I go on vacation on the 7th and don't want this game to bog down any more time than it has already...

Ray... lets end it... nothing looks good for either of us and unless one of these guys is hungry for a solo, then there is no reason to play on...

Andrew wanna steal NSC before the game ends though... give me that last, extremely miniscule satisfaction over Sims!!

Alright, well lets propose then a Florida/Mexico/BC draw to be voted on this fall season. I'd be happy if we could have a binding public vote and get it done, but I know thats not the way its done 'round hereSmile

Also might be nice to call an end to it before we've a long vacation break.

If we’re calling draws, I’ll also propose a joint Quebec-NY win. Come on you know you want to vote for it…
I vote yes to both proposals and let fate decide which one passes.

Heh, ironically enough that'd misorder - the space is named Anchorage for some reason and has very nearly caused me to misorder damn near every turn.

Oh, and a yes vote on the BC/Mex/Florida draw. Sorry JasonSmile

DC138 WOOD - Fall 2011 Reminder - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Heya you crazy WOODers,

Please don't forget that orders for Fall 2011 are due in just under 18 hours. I believe that I have votes from everyone concerning the end-game proposals - but there are still one or two order sets out there still to come in. Please fire them on in, if all three proposals fail I will need orders from everyone to push out the turn.

Cheers gang!

DC138 Winter Of Our Discontent - Fall 2011 - Strun... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Heya gang,

Our fortune cookie for Fall 2011 tells us that "Confucius say: You have heart as big as Texas" I'll leave you to read into that what you will. =P

California gets slammed from every conceivable direction in the on-going battle - BC storming down from the north and Florida and Mexico in the midst of a resurgence. Meanwhile New York continues to lose ground bit by bit and Quebec continues to operate with impunity out of their base in Nova Scotia.

Two retreats are required once the ground stops shaking - one from California and one from Florida. Deadline for the Early Winter 2011 retreats will be set for Tuesday, July 1st (11:59 PM GMT). Meanwhile, all end-game proposals are defeated but British Columbia solo is proposed. Please have your yay or nay votes in to me with the Early Winter deadline - for Tuesday. As always, abstention will count as a no.

Cheers everyone. Let me know if you spot any mistakes.

DC138 Winter Of Our Discontent - Early Winter 2011... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Our cookie surprise warns us this season that 'On wings of marshmellow you will fly free'...

And with boots of merangue you will kick some butt.. =) Seriously - I have NO idea what that could mean... But in any event, apologies for the late adjudication. Crazy, disgusting things were happening last night - apparently all of them to my internet connection. *sigh*

In mirror images of each other, California slips west and Florida slips east. That does it for the Autumn moves, and we move gracefully into Winter 2011 adjustments.. However, since a couple people are going on vacation, we kindof have a couple weeks in which to gather our thoughts... Happily, those who are leaving have already submitted their adjustments - so we'll schedule the Winter 2011 deadline for a little over a weeks time. Please have your builds and disbands in by Thursday, July 10th (11:59 PM GMT). The Spring 2012 turn will then be due on or around Friday, July 18th.

Oh, and the BC solo vote failed very convincingly. We make our bloody way onwards. =P

Cheers folks!

DC138 Winter Of Our Discontent - Winter 2011 - Swo... - test_gm   (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am)
Heya WOODers...
Amid the rubble, a stash of literary genius is found... Our next fortunes come courtesy of twentieth century poet laureate Dr. Seuss:
"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself, any direction you choose."

With those words of wisdom, we steer ourselves into the Winter of 2011... Florida builds 3 armies, BC 2 fleets. Meanwhile, California makes some interesting disbands and Mexico waives their build. Definitely some unexpected results.. =)

Spring 2012 orders will be due in a week - on Friday, July 18th (11:59 PM GMT). On top of the orders, we have a raft of end-game proposals that have been tabled for your consideration. Yay or nay votes will be due with the Spring moves.

Please vote for the following:
1. Draw Including All Survivors
2. BC / California Draw
3. BC / California / Mexico Draw
4. BC / California / Florida Draw
5. BC / California / Mexico / Florida Draw
6. Cuban Solo
7. BC Solo

Cheers everyone. Shout out if you spot an error!
